Went in the other day, to what seemed like the most busy morning at 2 Bits I've seen. We sat a a table that was quickly cleaned off and received a friendly acknowledgement from the waitress. Service with s smile on a hectic mornings. I ordered the chicken fried steak omelette with hash browns. My food was the bomb. Better bring your appetite, this was huge. Food was cold in less than 3-4 minutes, Service was good aside of receiving the bill with our food. 2 Bits Cafe is one of my favorite places to go for breakfast. Don't count on it being quick because there is almost always a wait. It is such a busy little place. As for the food my favorite is the fried egg sandwich with bacon on sour dough. First time I tried it I was hooked!!! OMG.... if your really hungry make the mistake of ordering a full stack of pancakes. I did and they were so huge I ate about a third of them. Next time I tried half stack, nope still to much! This spot may be the top breakfast place in the Yuba-Sutter area. After a fire caused this establishment to close down a few years ago many thought 2 Bits would be gone for good. However, it has come back with a vengeance and is better than ever. I am a pretty picky when it comes to my biscuits and gravy and nothing has compared to the Cook N Pot...until now. The last two times I have gone to 2 Bits the gravy was steaming at the perfect temperature and biscuits were fluffy and tasty. The little bits of sausage in the gravy topped it off! But that is just one meal. The aformentioned salsa tray in other reviews is amazing on an omelette or just to sprinkle on some eggs. Pancakes and French Toast are also delicious. I have been going to 2 Bits cafe for a few years now but todays experience was the worst ever. First off we had to wait over an hour for our food. When I asked why it took so long the response I got was "we didnt expect to be this busy and we only have 2 cooks". A simple update would have made the experience of waiting a little better. Second when our food did arrive it was completely wrong but the waitress seemed to accuse us of not ordering what we claimed. Third, while waiting for my girlfriends food i found a hair on my omelette and when i took it to the waitress they seemed not at all surprised, they even mentioned the cooks name who the hair belonged too. Now this is while we were waiting for them to correct my girlfriends order, to add insult the waitress named Heather still had the nerve to give attitude and ask my girlfriend if she still wanted her meal as if it was us that inconvenience them. In the past you were able to get good food and service in a timely manner but as of late all you get is horrible service and crappy food that takes a long time. Even during non busy times they seem to take over 30 minutes get you your food. read more

They used to be good but they served a raw Pancake (not even brown on outside) burnt sausage patty. I sent Pancake and sausage back, they put same pancake on grill and only slightly cooked more. Returned with same sausage so I sent it back again however it was way past overdone, most likely they cooked up a bunch for breakfast rush but forgot to take off grill. My husband has heard good things about 2 Bits so in we went for a late Saturday breakfast. We knew it was a very casual environment but we weren't prepared for "seat yourself." No problem. We have been there previously but left because the line was out the door. As we headed to an empty 2 top, a very surly redhead in a walking boot snapped "you have to wait until she cleans it." The table was perfectly clean and set. She glared at us and hobbled away. We found a 4 top (a waste in my opinion) and settled in. I'm happy to say that's where the rudeness ended. Our server was very sweet and got our order straight away. We got our coffee in mismatched mugs, which I found to be so charming. It was like having a cup of coffee at a friend's house. :-) The coffee was very strong, always a good sign. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak omelet with home fries and I went for the 2 piece french toast. Hubby was very happy with the omelet. It was exactly what you would expect it to taste like, although I found the gravy to be a little underseasoned and just slightly sweet. He was less impressed with the home fries. Unlike the gravy they were a bit overseasoned. But the french toast. Oh that french toast!! Not silly little floppy triangles, oversoaked in the custard and subsequently overcooked to make up for it. These were substantial slices of french bread!! Not too sweet and perfectly golden. I would dare say the best french toast I've ever had. Ever. Overall, a decent place to get a hearty breakfast. Service was so they don't care. I came in and had a seat. One waitress ignored me I know because it was not her table. I watched the other waitress thumb through the paper and talk to a male customer at the counter for nearly five minute. When she came to my table I commented that I thought I was going to have to go to the counter to get waited on. She replied " oh ya like you have been waiting so long". They are so out of touch with the customer and so internally focused. This is typical of this waitress. Stopped in for breakfast yesterday. The food was good, prices were alright. It wouldn't be my first choice but I liked it more than Waffle Barn or IHOP. I had Clara's Favorite Omelet with home fries. The potatoes were yummy. My omelet was decent. I ordered my son a cup of fruit which was disappointing for the price and a side of sausage. The waitress brought bacon, which is difficult for my 14 month old to chew so it was wasted. I didn't say anything about it cause we were in a hurry. The service was nothing great. Mostly average food all around. Jalapeño coins were solid with the ranch that they provide. Got the 2+2+2 and the eggs were over cooked. Pancakes are krusteaz or some other main brand and cooked on one side and not so much on the other. Bacon is a little old. You could tell that the oil they use for the tater tots/sweet potato fries is very old. The hash browns were super oily. French toast was okay.
