I did a search on Yelp and saw the rave reviews for Bodies Kneaded and the playful marketing they had (very pro Miss Piggy and drag queens, tbh) and decided to reach out. They had a text number on their website so I sent a message from the airport waiting for my flight to start boarding and by the time I was in my seat I had booked 2.5 hours the next day for a massage and facial. Now, this is not a traditional spa experience. It's relaxing and artsy and not the minimalist aesthetic you find in a lot of places. But I loved that about it. I'm here for the treatments first and foremost and those were amazing. Stewart is great! The massage? One of the best I've ever had. Truly. Because of the family stuff I've been going through my back was a field of stress knots and he worked them all out. I mentioned needing a little extra work in spots and he complied and also eased up the pressure perfectly when I had a few more tender areas. I had the deluxe massage which also included gentle cupping (effecting but also didn't leave any marks) and hot stones. It was great! My winter Michigan skin was also a dry mess. Before this I had been so embarrassed to even put on any makeup because it just immediately started flaking. He used an oxygen facial tool which did a great job of exfoliating all those extremely dry spots, including one really red spot I had on my cheek for a few weeks. When I left my sensitive skin was definitely a little on the ruddy side but trust the process! Within 48 hours it was all gone and my skin tone was even and glowing. When I got back to Michigan I had a few dry spots return but he set me up with success and after a few days of using some of the recommended oils things mellowed out. I feel so much more confident about my skin now! Also, Stewart is a gem. So kind and was sending me great recommendations for the neighborhood even before I even stepped foot in Florida! He was so kind and attentive during the session and was open to chatting a bit but also gave me the space to relax and zone out a bit which I appreciated. The two treatments together were significantly less than I would have paid at my hotel spa as well. Very reasonably priced for Miami Beach for sure! I called to discuss a Neck Recovery Massage and my recent pain possibly related to a previous broken neck. I was told there were multiple openings to choose from, so I inquired about a 30 min session. In lieu of multiple sessions being available, she was unable to accommodate anything other than a 60 minute massage even after mentioned I couldn't afford 60 minutes. Compassion aside, from a business standpoint this doesn't seem to make sense to me. Your Pledge on your website reads "We put your needs first so you feel better as soon as possible." I didn't feel that way when I hung up.

My review below is only for the deep tissue/sport massage, as that is all I have had. I get the 90 minute deep tissue massage. Although she is on the petite side, she is very strong (she will greet you with a firm handshake, so you know her hands are strong) and gives you her 100% effort each time, every minute. I get a very firm massage in order to loosen up tight muscles. There is no "down-time" or "wasted" time during the massage, which I have had with other masseuses because they have tired out. Every minute she is working hard to heal your body. You can tell she actually cares about whether she is making a difference. Maite has very good technique and has a deeper understanding/interest in the body due to her being a nurse beforehand. I have multiple soft tissue injuries that she is helping me work through. She knows how much pressure to apply in order to break up knots without injuring the tissue or leaving me overly sore. I do feel like I am making progress with my injuries after going to see her for several weeks. She is also a very positive/friendly person as she is now in the process of becoming a life coach, so conversation is pleasant/upbeat. Her business is located inside a clean, pretty office building on Brickell Key and is very neat/clean. She is thoughtful with music and lighting adjustments. Overall, I would definitely recommend her to anybody seeking a deep tissue/sport massage.

I picked it as it's the cheapest deal around I could find!:) I parked in the back where there's a large parking lot and I walked in at the front. It is a little weird the entrance door is all blacked out. In the lobby at the front desk a guy greets me. I tell him I will do half hour as I only want to do my back. This man is a first class hustler because he keeps trying to talk me into an hour and then into 45min. I stick to the half hour as I don't know what therapist I get either way. I am guided to the room and to snap a picture, I try to turn up the light switch. Now did I not know it was the volume button and suddenly I'm blasting spa music in the building:) A man that doesn't speak English walks in. I try to show him where it hurts. He was very friendly. But he's close to a dominatrix because I was in pain half of the time even I asked to be more gentle. I'm bony and my muscles aren't really in good shape so I feel like he will tear something any time. He works fast, you don't feel like time is being wasted. In the end warm towels and hot stones are being used. I asked to put my arthritis cream on the sore spot on my spine and he is very helpful to do so. The massage was 31min long so it wasn't shorter than what you pay for. I got dressed and walked out. I tipped the therapist and then try to handle the rest with the front desk attendant. I show the yelp check in, and he says it's only for hour massages. The yelp check in offer says any so he ends up giving me the discount. I did tip half of that back to him. The front desk is pushing the hustle mentality a little too far. I don't know if it's a Chinese thing but it is borderline rude. I rather find a place where I can come often to take care of my back issues then being pushed into paying more and talked into something I don't want. Service is good depending on therapist you get but if you like deep tissue then you are at the right location for that!
