We'd been by Guadalupe's a few times but decided this visit was our time to finally try it. We had no idea what to expect when we walked in. What we found is similar to Moe's, Chipotle, Salsarita's, QDoba, etc. Fast casual where you walk down the line and they build your food as you go. I'm a fan of this type of eatery and I was hungry, so it was a perfect storm. They have an impressive amount of food options. Chicken, steak, barbacoa, carnitas, tofu, veggies, chorizo, ground beef, and chicken barbacoa are the protein options! It's impressive. you can chose a burrito, a bowl, tacos, a salad, or nachos. As you go down the line they add your additional ingredients like veggies, cheese(s) and sauce(s). There are other options, of course. Chips & Salsa, Chips and Queso, all of your typical Mexican side-dish fare. The restaurant was clean and tidy when we walked in, and every staff member was occupied cleaning, serving, or doing food prep. I was very impressed by the guy who was sitting there preparing fresh onions. He was standing there slicing and chopping onions right out in the open. They don't hide anything at Guadalupe's. It's all right out front. Our food was hot and delicious. I had a chicken burrito with some fresh jalapeño slices and pico de gallo (always a great combination)...and it was awesome. There's a sign above the doorway that says: No Cans. No Microwaves. No Freezers. Made from Scratch. I can tell that Guadalupe's takes pride in what they do.

Steak is a bit chewy, but you get a lot for a cheap price, so no complaints, really. Carnitas Burrito - $8.70 - Good taste. Carnitas was also a little chewy but still decent. No one can say the burritos are dry. Definitely tons of sauce. Medium-sized burritos. No free chips and salsa. Some other restaurants may give you free chips and salsa for the same price. I assume the two working there are husband and wife. Both are very friendly and nice. If you want a quick burrito for lunch or dinner, it's decent flavor and price. I'd eat here again.

We've been to the restaurant on Broadway (which is good), but the Harlan location is better. Both locations are owned by the same family and you can tell they work their butts off to offer a quality product to their customers. The Broadway location is "tacos only" (nothing else), where as Harlan offers all your traditional Mexican fare. We got tacos, beans, and rice, and it was excellent... Our favorite taqueria in town is Rigo's down in Waynedale, but this location gives them a run for their money. Their tacos here are absolute fire, they stuff them silly full, and they offer up four different types of salsas (they've got some damn kick, so be careful) with cucumbers and radishes. The one thing we really like is they don't overly salt any of their food unlike other taquerias around town. You know this place is good when you're the only gringos eating there... Add in friendly/service, fair/reasonable prices, cool authentic/old school looking design inside, and Tacos El Amish is a hidden gem. If you're up on the northeast side of town, this little taqueria is worth the stop... You will not be disappointed (unless you don't like authentic Mexican food).

Similar to the Mexican fast-casual, you do down the assembly line, starting with what type of food item you want (tacos, burrito, a bowl, salad, etc) and add your proteins and veggies and sauces and assorted toppings as you go down the line. You've been to these places before. One of the things that stand out for me is the variety of items available. Yes, they've got chicken and beef and barbacoa, but they also have chimichurri chicken, which is an absolute stand-out item. If you're unfamiliar with chimichurri, it's chicken that's typically sautéed with finely chopped parsley, minced garlic, olive oil, oregano and red wine vinegar. That leads to a very green colour, but the taste is (insert chef's kiss here). I typically get mine in bowl but vary the toppings over time. As you go down the line and add your toppings you're basically creating your own meal. At the end of the line you're handed your meal on a tray and each order comes with a small bag of freshly made chips and you can chose from any one of about ten different types of salsa. I've tried most of them, my favorite being the tomatillo because it tastes so fresh, but they're all made fresh in store and each has its own distinct flavor. We've been to this location a number of time and the service has always been awesome and the facility has been very clean. They do a great job of keeping the dining room clean. In a world of QDoba, Moe's, Chipotle, and Salsarita, I'd take Salsa Grille over all of them. If I had the means I'd bring a Salsa Grille franchise to Louisville.

We had heard raves about their salsa so we expected a bowl of salsa with our chips. Instead we got squeeze bottles, one orange, one green. The green salsa had some kick, and the orange had wonderful layers of flavor. Although we did not need it, we noticed a bar for extra toppings. In 2025, most of the entrees seem to be in the $14 to $16 range. Again, the quantity of food was way more than we could eat in one meal. I originally told my companion we were not leaving until I ate every delicious bite of my nachos. That proved impossible. Since we were traveling we could not take any leftovers home, so I mourned the deliciousness I left behind.
