Isabel's has been nothing short of stellar each and every time I've been there. The food is always fresh, the Flavors are off the chart, and by the way, the margarita is on point! We were visiting this town looking for some fried chicken has when we spot this restaurant. We were kind of surprised to find a Mexican restaurant in this area...we were starving and we decided to give it a try. Normally you find more authentic Mexican food in small towns that in the city. Outside the place looks like new, very well taken care of. Inside the place is colorful, clean and new as well. On the food menu we were right. They have many options that we normally don't see in other places. The Huaraches and the Gorditas are good examples. I ordered a large Shrimp Cocktail as their menu only has the small size as an appetizer, and my family ordered Sopes and Fish Tacos. All of them were great, tasty and ay a decent price! Service was great and the owners are very down to earth. Very approachable and they were asking us how the food was. HOLY #^**! This is truly a hidden gem. We go to SoCal 1x/yr and this is the closest we've come in the Midwest to authentic flavors. 10/10 the carne or pollo tacos. Our 2 year old son devoured the adult quesadilla. The salsa- forgetaboutit! Thank you to this family for bringing authenticity and diversity to this area! out of this world delicious. The carne asada breakfast burritos were delicious. Sadly though, we always come away feeling like they are way too expensive. The same burritos in California are $10.50. I would pay $11 happily, but $13 is extremely high. They are really stingy with their salsa too. I've never experienced that until I moved to Indiana. In summary - Too expensive and strangely stingy w salsa. Due to these facts we've agreed to find another Mexican favorite. read more

Incredible place!! Only authentic Mexican food in this area and it is amazing! I travel to Mexico several times a year and finding authentic food like this is very difficult. A family run business with a taco truck as well. Everything from the elotes to their street-style tacos and hand-made tamales is made with such care and attention to detail. I have ate here twice and I really like the place. The food is great and what you would expect for a place like this. The first time I ate there the service was great. Unfortunately, the service today (8-1-20) was awful! I don't think the waitress wanted to be there. She spent most of the time sitting at a table watching her phone when she should have been either taking care of me or wrapping silverware. I don't think she said more than 10 words to me. I had to do all the talking. I had to ask for a napkin. Also, I didn't get a drink refill. If this is how she is all of the time then the restaurant should look to replace her. Great find in Grabill! Limited menu if you don't eat meat, but they do have veggie quesadillas and burritos, and shrimp choices also. Chips and salsa were obviously freshly made, and delicious, and staff very friendly. We had the veggie quesadilla and shrimp tacos supreme, really good, and both sauces that came with were excellent. Great food! My wife and I had lunch and it was delicious. The chips were very crispy but not greasy, and were light. They served as a wonderful vessel for the fresh guacamole. My wife's tacos were light and had just the right amount if filling. She loved them! I ordered sopes with chorizo and they were perfect. Light but substantial and not greasy, just full of flavor. What a fantastic Mexican restaurant - in Grabill! We enjoyed 3 orders of appetizer chip combos: chips and salsa, guacamole and queso. The soft melted queso has nice spicy kick. The guacamole and salsa were obviously freshly made with a touch of spiciness. The chips were also obviously freshly made. Very crispy and light despite the amount of oil visible on them. We then ordered supreme tacos. Freshly and lightly fried soft shells brimming with fresh ingredients. All 3 of us had asada (steak) filling, which was delicious and cut into bite-dize pieces. One order included shrimp as an extra, which were full size, not chopped, so you couldn't miss them. All in all, great value, very authentic. I hope to go back to try their breakfast. read more

This is real deal home style Mexican cooking at it's finest. Not the TexMex or Mission style that we have come to know and think of as true Mexican. A wonderful family run business who have built this restaurant (literally) from the ground up, starting from a food trailer to now a full service brick and mortar. Quite possibly the best representation of Mexican food you will find anywhere in the Fort Wayne area. Keep in mind that everything is made to order, so it does take a few minutes or you can call ahead. This is my go to spot. I'm there pretty much weekly.
