Old school bar in downtown Encinitas. The bar looks like it has been around for a while. Check out the cool vintage picture of PCH on the wall from the 1920s. The bar has a decent selection of draft beers and other libations. There are pool and shuffleboard tables. Lots of TVs for sports.

Racist bartender Corey ignored me and was super rude at the bar. Literally yelled " I'm busy right now boy" .... This was my first time here . I won't be back . I was here late. I hope management reads this . I am a former Army veteran if that means anything. I wouldn't recommended anyone to this bar especially if Corey is bartending. He is super rude , hostile and will threaten you in front of everyone at the bar! Just go elsewhere!

Red arm from being yanked around

The bouncer was unnecessarily aggressive with me when he yanked me down while I was dancing and pulled me out of the bar without a word to what I did wrong

If you want to get the worst service and get ignored go to this spot! Bartender doesn't like to work and super rude when you want to order a drink. I asked him again and he says he has bunch of people before me when I am sitting at the bar without a drink for 20 mnts now.

A lively place to be on any given day. Parley here for pool, shuffleboard, sports games on TV, live music, open mic, the DJ dance music or just kick it at the bar - where the cool people come for good times. Excellent service and staff. Plus, they just re-modeled the bathrooms. One can never go wrong visiting here.

Bar staff phenomenal. DJ cannot take requests even for 30th bday (clearly doesn't know bpm).

I ordered the mahi mahi fish tacos and a house coffee. The coffee was actually pretty good! Cream and sugar were delivered separately to finish with your preference. As for the tacos, it was okay. The fish was a bit dry for my liking, cabbage could have been chopped with more finesse, and I wished they QC'd their limes a bit before putting them on the plate. Both were bone dry and I had to ask for more. Moreover, the cilantro lime rice was also a bit bland. It needed salt to lift the flavors in my opinion. There weren't even flecks of green if it was supposed to be cilantro? I tried boyfriend's veggie hash but was disappointed to find that it was almost all potatoes. Having said that, it was an extremely generous portion so he was filled up. While I didn't try it, our friend that had the chorizo hash also said it was okay so I'm guessing the ratio wasn't quite right. Anyways, ask for their chili sauce on the side, that's actually quite surprising. It had really good heat and was more like a chili crisp than a vinegary hot sauce. The plates that did score favorably at the table were the carne chilaquiles and the divorced eggs.

And our server was fantastic. So why, you might ask, only 4 stars in my review. Two reasons: 1). Management has prohibited giving a splash of a beer for someone to sample. Bottom line is that I wanted to order a pint of beer, but I wanted a splash of a couple of beers to try to make my decision. They refused, saying that one must buy a 5oz taster if one wants to taste the beer. I find that policy offensive. In the end I bought a taster to taste the Chuuurch, and then bought an additional pint after. It just seems nickel and dimey, and would be asking to an ice cream place not allowing one to sample their ice creams before buying a cone. I hope management reconsiders this policy. 2. My wife got the Hot Mess Fries and was disappointed not only in the flavor, but also in the misleading advertising. On the menu it specifically said that there was bacon in the fries, but in fact what they put on the fries was either chunks of ham or "Canadian bacon" (which as we all know is a very different thing from "bacon"). If they were or of regular bacon, the kitchen should have told the server this so he could have asked her if she wanted ham as a substitute. And, of they always use ham instead of bacon, them the menu needs to be changed to reflect that.

We tried different marinades and various fish, but my hands-down favorites were the lobster tacos (lemon butter) and the red snapper (fish shop) tacos. We also ordered large sides. They do NOT skimp out on these. Massive onions rings and a large pile of fries. All were delicious! The kids liked their grilled cheese sandwiches. "Best grilled cheese besides the ones we make at home." Only downside on the food was the clam chowder. Good flavor but hardly any clams (if any). I wouldn't get that again, but everything else was phenomenal. I almost rated this down to a 4 because of this (and a small order mishap), but honestly, this place is worth a solid 5 based on the overall food, vibes, and staff. This place's vibes are super chill. You can either sit inside or out. Very clean all around! Well-maintained restrooms and tables too. Solid drink options - both alcoholic and non-alcoholic as well!
