Bought a Lelit Bianca from these guys in 2020. They were helpful in making that a smooth process. HOWEVER, now I'm having a problem with a major component of the machine (the flow control) and they've been rude and super un-accomodating. I wouldn't recommend buying your precious gear from a company that has this kind of support post sale. I called Clive Coffee and they bent over backwards for me to try and help. They are a much better place to invest your hard earned money into. Stay away from 1st-Line - "Java Jim" seems to be all about Customer Support on his YouTube videos, but in practice - that's just not the case - at all. read more

Not sure what is up with the negative review because I've had the opposite experience. Nothing but good things to say about the customer service. My 6 year old Lelit Elizabeth was having problems and I wanted to fix it my self so I bought spare parts. I contacted Lelit directly and they responded once every few days and did not provide much help other than a suggestion to send my machine in to get it serviced. I decided to email 1stline because I bought the machine and parts from them. I emailed late in the afternoon but received a reply promptly. We even had a few back and forth exchanges and they addressed all my concerns. I thought I got the wrong part because the safety valve I ordered did not look like the one in my machine. 1stline was able to provide insight that Lelit changed some designs so this part actually has changed twice since I bought my machine. I went ahead and replaced the part and got my machine working. I was without a working machine for two weeks until I contacted 1stline. Now it's up and running within a couple hours. My Mara X V1 was purchased from 1st Line in February 2021 and performed flawlessly until early December when it started heating very slowly. A few months prior the water level light started to fail, but I ignored it! I reached out to 1st Line and Jim emailed me, asked a couple of questions. Asked me if I was comfortable doing the repairs if he sent the parts (relay and led lamps). Parts arrived quickly and the total time to repair was 30 minutes. I've bought three major items from 1st line between late 2014 and present (late 2017) -- a prosumer heat exchange espresso machine, a high end drip coffee machine, and a grinder -- along with spare parts for the espresso machine. My experiences have always been positive. The selection is decent (they don't have every brand under the sun, but they do have quite a few), prices range from excellent to reasonable, often less than other online dealers, and shipping has always been prompt. As for the service I received, it has been top notch. For my first purchase, the customer service reps assisted me in a selecting a machine in my budget that would best meet my needs as well as locate spare parts as needed. More recently, when I placed an order online on Black Friday of all days, I received a phone call a few hours later confirming my order to ensure it wasn't fraud. The rep also told me that the system had processed a double order (indeed, after I clicked 'submit', the site hung, so I resubmitted the order), but he ensured I was only charged once and sent one item. Lastly, when the grinder I recently bought jammed up upon initial use, the customer service staff assisted me expertly in isolating and fixing the problem. It turned out not to be necessary to return the grinder, but had it been necessary, I have every confidence they'd have processed the return promptly. To the other reviewers who have complained about the customer service, I'm sorry for your experiences, but mine has been entirely different. Called up to ask for advice on a problem I was having with my machine that I had bought from them...They wanted to charge me $129 just for ADVICE over the phone! They said the machine is out of warranty and said they don't do any support over the phone for machines that are out of warranty. These guys can arrange quality, serious equipment for you that you won't find at an average store, and all at competitive prices. If you're into high end espresso equipment which usually cost arm & a leg, its very important to deal with a professional company where their staff are knowledgeable & stand behind their products down the road. If you are an espresso snob like myself & end up getting a quality machine / grinder, one of the first things you'll notice is that these machines weigh a ton & when you need something serviced there aren't too many businesses who are knowledgeable enough or are equipped so to service your machine, & I live in Los Angeles. Having that said, I very much appreciated getting valuable advice from 1st-line staff on several occasions which resulted me troubleshooting & fixing the problem while preventing the headache & cost of shipping or physically taking your heavy machine for service. First of all, I would like to thank the company "1st-line Equipment" for timely support, when the PID controller broke down on my newly acquired Lelit PL41TEM. There was a problem with the PID clock face. PID still worked fine, only one part of the digit symbol disappeared, nothing criminal :). I took a picture and sent it in support of the "1st-line". The guy said that this is not a common, and offered me two options: - self replace the PID or send the coffeemaker to them. I chose the first option and got a new controller within a week. Then I sent back the broken one and that's it, the problem is solved! Secondly, according to my research, the price of the whole set (coffee maker and grinder) was the best in the market at that time (half year ago). 5% discount and a free shipping made me happy as well :) I really appreciate their work and recommend them to everyone who is looking for coffee equipment! read more

I highly recommend AGAINST doing business with 1st-line equipment. You will receive appalling costumer service. After calling in to place an order for a last minute birthday gift, I was accused of fraud by an extremely rude manager lady. She reasoned my haste to have my order shipped that same day must be due to attempting to use a stolen a credit card. Even after I notified her my order was intended as a last minute present, she accused me of theft and hung up on me. After I got over the shock of receiving the worst customer service ever, I contacted another online vendor who treated me respectfully and shipped my order that same day. So, 1st-line did get back after 2 days and a couple of other email. 2 days is acceptable, I do understand that they are a small business with quite a few customers with problems. I guess the issue is that some of these machines can be problematic, the 5 star reviews don't give the full picture so do extra research if you're looking for a better home brewing experience. They kept my Pavoni, which I sent them in mid June, for almost seven weeks without checking it out, or keeping me informed about the delay. They said they were waiting for the part but it turned out they didnt order it until last week! I phoned and emailed them several times and never got any explanation. Then I contacted the authentic Pavoni repair service, European Gift today, which confirmed that they never got the order from 1st line until last week. Jim at 1st line then started blaming me, making up phony stories about damage to the machine (there was none; it just needed a gasket), and then demanded that I send him a paid shipping label to ship it back to me! The original UPS shipping cost me over $90. Even though my enclosed note in the original box wasnt readable, I had called Jim on the phone and described the problem, which he said was the gasket. This was several weeks ago...but they never ordered it until last week! This is irresponsible and incompetent. Do not trust them with your machine repair! read more
