After having two vanity tops installed by the home depot contractor, colonial granite and marble, I have had nothing but aggravation. Holes were drilled wrong for the faucets, the sink opening is off center, the backsplash returns are done incorrectly, while removing my old top, the men broke a pipe under my sink. The rep from Colonial marble, Matt Dunn, came with a rep from home depot, Justin Mauro. They both admitted that the work was sloppy. NOW, I get a letter from Colonial telling me they did nothing wrong and they will do nothing for me. PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM HOMEDEPOT for your home improvements. If you want a big box store ...GO TO LOWES...they value their customers. I am still going to reach out and see what can be done..but for now, I have to say HOMEDEPOT is the worst. read more

A larger sized Home Depot with more selections to choose from, very clean and spacious, with a very knowledgeable staff. I live closer to the Freehold Home Depot, but I come to this Howell location when I am looking for more expensive items with a bigger selection. They have more to choose from here then their smaller stores. The staff here is excellent! John A. In the paint department is without a doubt the most knowledgeable paint professional I have ever met in any store! I needed all kinds of paint and pimets for a new home, he knew exactly what to get and exactly what I was looking for. Others helped me with friendly service as I walked throughout the store. It wasn't the busiest time when I came here, but the willingness, attitudes and friendliness of the employees was terrific! This Home Depot gets the trophy for worst customer service during a pandemic. I've seen sun and I've seen rain but I've never seen people so totally inconsiderate towards their customers. I placed an online order so I wouldn't have to stand in line outside and keep the number of people in the store to a minimum. Just doing my part. It took 4 days to pick a bag of sand and a bottle of wood glue. Four days. I tried to do a curbside pickup but no one answered the phone. I went inside and the guy at the customer service desk never acknowledged my presence. It wasn't all that busy so there really wasn't any reason for it. I'm pretty patient but I just gave up and went to Lowe's. In and out in 10 minutes. This has been my go to home improvement store for years but it'll be a while before I return. After the disrespect they showed me I'll take the extra 5 minutes and go to Lowe's. read more

Over the last two decades I probably have $10k invested in Home Depot here in Howell. It's an easy trip for me to get there and you always have to run there for paint, screws, electrical needs, garden stuff, plumbing,etc. etc. It's not always quick to get help but if there is no one in the aisle, a trip to the contractor's desk will issue a summons for someone to come to your aid. 90% of the time the HD people are friendly and courteous. Especially in plumbing they've helped me out many times on how to configure a natural gas or water line. Ditto in the painting department. If you need to return something it usually is effortless. If you need to order something not in stock they will do it routinely. Occasionally they don't have what you want but that is fairly rare. As with anything else, you have to watch their prices on varied items. If you are not in a rush you may be able to get something cheaper on Amazon. The convenience of getting in the car,getting instant satisfaction, and getting pretty good help when you need it are worth going back. read more

There's an extremely helpful woman in the paint department who is always cheerful and polite. Even though she's sometimes extremely busy, she's never flustered or agitated. I went to Loews in Howell and the woman in the paint department there was extremely rude to me for no real reason. I buy all my paint at Home Depot now. read more

After a few months of battling Home Depot, I was able to get a replacement unit. However, they did not have the same model in stock anymore (which matched the other kitchen appliances I bought), so I had to settle for an entirely different brand / style. Not a huge issue for me (although it is for some people). I will note that this whole process was extremely frustrating... many phones calls, emails, service visits, etc.... Once the replacement unit was delivered, I had to again pay for it to be installed (a warranty does not cover labor, which, for two dishwashers, could set you back a few hundred dollars). The first time the installers arrived they did not have the right hose / parts, so they had to reschedule (that's one day of work lost). The second time they came, they also somehow managed to not have all the parts needed (two days of work). The third time was the charm (three days of work!). Nuts, right? So, I have a unit, its warranty is only 6 months since for some really really odd reason, the start date of the warranty for this entirely new / different brand model, begins when the first unit was installed. My wife and I recently bought kitchen appliances at this Home Depot store. My first complaint is that it takes half a day before anyone answers the phone if you call the store. Also the people who answer are unfriendly and seem to have an attitude. When we were at the store, I felt like we had to hunt employees down to get any assistance. Again not a customer friendly atmosphere. Lastly we are charged to haul our old appliances away- unbelievable!! You would think after paying for all the appliances we bought, removing the old appliances would be free. Not buying any appliances at Home Depot anymore!!! I have been going to this Home Depot because it is so close to my home. They are either extremely understaffed or everyone is hiding. If you like the Freehold Shoprite this is your place too. I purchased a sliding glass patio door from Home Depot. I used Home Depot's installation contractors and they were wonderful. Now almost one month later, I've been trying to communicate with Home Depot to pay my balance but cannot get anyone to help me, give me my balance or return my calls. Imagine that. Instead of Home Depot chasing me for payment, I'm chasing them! I have called Home Depot five times and have been told no one is working that particular day who can help me, I have been transferred to an individual who is actually not even at work that day, been disconnected and promised call backs that never come. I paid a personal visit to Home Depot and again, was told no one was working that could help me and that someone would get back to me. No more. I'm done! I will deal directly with corporate and shop at Lowe's instead! read more

gotta love buying a propane refill. nobody in the store is notified. you then tell a cashier "hey im out here for a propane refill" ....10 minutes pass and you walk back in. Theyre ringing up customers, still nobody in the store notified. So you walk around looking for anyone to help you. This also happened to me at the one by Freehold mall as I waited outside for 35 minutes requesting help 4 times to the point where I tried to break the lock so I could go home. read more

i would give less than 1 star or negative stars if i could. the lack of customer service with the flooring dept is horrible. they ordered wrong flooring and never bothered to tell me. john, the salesman had no desire to help me pick out my flooring or really answer my questions. he had no idea about the products he sells. pathetic. i had to constantly call to check on the status. susan, at the installers desk kept telling me that she was bending over backwards to help me, after their errors. no one wants to take responsibilty for anything. the left hand blames the right hand. jennifer in installations told me to ask for the manager. i did, and spoke to matt who told me to wait for a call from susan. no one returns calls. i called multiple times. the pad and carpet i got were not of good quality. they subcontract out to american carpet south who hires illegal immigrants who speak not a word of english, so it's virtually impossible to communicate with them. there are so many complaints with consumer affairs with home depot's installations. wish i did my homework beforehand on them. i hope the people who work in installations have issues with something they buy, order and need installed and they get told oh well, buyers remorse like i did!!! shame on you home depot!!!! read more

Don't waste your time buying major appliances here if you have to have it delivered, they are unreliable. My landlord ordered a range/oven on 12/12 or 12/13 to be delivered on 12/22 for my home. In time for me to cook Christmas Eve & Christmas Day dinners, for family that is traveling from across the country. They called the night before saying they would be delivering on 12/22 and would call that morning to give a time frame. Well, they never delivered the stove today, called landlord and said they now would come on 12/26..the F'N day after Christmas. I'd like to know how I'm going to cook for 18 people with no stove/oven. I should have ordered from PC Richards, I would have had it the next day, but to save a few $'s went with Home Depot, now our Christmas holiday is ruined. Called the store, at first they told me NO store manager was available, at 4:55 pm.. than when I raised my voice, someone came to the phone..he was nice and said he'd look into it and call back which he did than said he'd look into it some more and call back..I'm still waiting.. I would give this 0 stars if it would let me...As a retail Ast. manager for over 30 years, this is BAD business. read more
