I was seriously conflicted writing this review since I absolutely adored the trainers: professional, dedicated and hard-working but appalled by the management; making the decision easier to do so. We (my sister, friend and I) bought this deal on Groupon - unlimited 30Xpress classes for $19. Whoa! Considering that it normally costs $280+ for the same classes, what a steal! Like the old saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it is." I agree. The management's communication (lack thereof) was jaw-dropping. We were able to work a deal with Renee, one of the awesome managers, so we can continue after the Groupon deal ended. First week into the newly paid verbal contract, which is considered valid in Texas, Dawn, one of the owners, called to inform that the deal was not valid and that they were not going to "eat the cost" since the deal was undervalued. A management staff member accepted the negotiated pricing and accepted payment for said service, yet she is calling us out implying that we were essentially "taking" sessions not paid for. After, the LOUD and heated conversation she had with my sister on the phone, which can be heard easily by anyone more than a few feet away, was very unprofessional. Why is she arguing and putting the blame on the client? Then, she informed us she would not give us a refund, SERVICES WERE NOT RENDERED, one week after the deal was made. We agreed that we would break the amount paid into weekly portions and pay that portion accordingly; she vehemently disagreed until she talked to her husband. She called a short time later after her husband agreed to offer the full refund and a week free of training. We contemplated going since the ordeal with the management made it uncomfortable but the trainers are awesome. Several days later, we went. Day 1, Boxing trainer, Vincent, was no longer an employee, so we can only work out with the other trainer, Terrence. Management did not inform that the trainer would be let go, so they agreed to bring him back so we can train with him for the week. We greatly appreciated that, especially when an employee called the evening before to ensure our schedule would remain the same as previously taken. Results: Trainers - awesome! I cannot review on the actual class since I was not actually able to take the class. I purchase a 5 session deal from Living Social and today would have been my first class. However, I drive 15 miles only to have the instructor not show up. This class is only an hour long and was supposed to start at 8:30am and there were 5 of us waiting outside until around 9am. There was no note on the door or a response from either of the 2 phone numbers posted on the front of the door. I called the main phone number only to have an answering service take my name and number and tell me that some one will return my call. One of the gentleman waiting with us mentioned that the same thing happened to the Tuesday class and the instructor was a no show and they still have not heard back from the studio as to the reason for it. Their website requires a 24 hour advance notice for any cancelation. How about extending that courtesy to us too? read more

There were good times, there were bad times. In the end, I still liked them. Like many of the other people that posted on here, I also had a Groupon here for 12 classes that I could technically redeem until January. Based on the terms, I had to take my first class by the end of October and then I had 2 months to take all my classes. Well, I had taken about 8 of my classes by the end of November when management decided they would no longer accept Groupon-ers. It was really their loss, because in the end I ended getting reimbursed for the full value of my Groupon, even though I'd used 2/3 of it by the time management decided they didn't want to let me use it anymore. I actually never felt any animosity about this while process from my instructor. The issue always seemed to be with management. I guess since they had just opened the new location, they were trying to figure out all the classes still. They cancelled a majority of the morning classes while I was there, which sort of annoyed me. Then I called management and I realized it was them that were causing this whole Groupon issue. My instructor was really good and would tailor the exercises to whatever we said we wanted to work on that day. So if we wanted to work our legs or arms or something, she would give us more exercises in that area. read more

VERY VERY PLEASED with 1st Class Training!!! The coaches and trainers there are top notch especially Tony. They take the time to talk to you and listen to what you have to say and where you want to focus on. They take your training seriously and train you during your whole practice session. They also have alternative 30 minute cardio classes as well as the opportunity to come in during the day and do some cardio alone. Everyone there is really nice especially the check-in desk with Dawn. read more

Sad that all 1st Class Training locations have closed since the tragic loss of the owners! I will miss the absolutely wonderful owners, Antonio and Dawn forever! My experience deserves 7 stars. I did 30 min personal training session at the Woodway location with trainer Carnell. He was funny but didn't miss a beat while training me. Just when I thought I wanted to quit he challenged me with a new exercise. I let him know I was doing Pilates at the Bellaire location 30 mins after my training with him. He saw to it that I received a high interval workout but still had enough energy to complete an hour of Pilates. I was pleasantly surprised...This was the best Pilates class that I've ever been to. Every muscle in my body was worked and it wasn't boring!! I admit me, I wasn't sure I would make it the whole hour but it was so much fun it was over before I knew it...I'll be back again this week! read more

My friend told me about 1st Class Training Pilates studio and decided to check it out. They let you try it for free, which I think is great, considering a reformer class runs you around 30 dollars a session. The reformer class is 6 people max, but I have never been when there are more than 3 people at a time, so you get a lot of personalized attention, which is great when you are new to the reformer. I was sore after the first day! I would highly recommend this pilates studio for anyone that is looking for a good reformer or mat class. read more

I bought a groupon deal for several Pilates classes. The deal expired the beginning of October, and the specific deal I bought stated that it expired two months after activation. Well at my first class the instructor informed me my deal expired next week, that I couldn't come after that. I pulled up groupon and showed her how it states I have two months to use it. She said no, to contact groupon. Which I did, and they confirmed to me that I had two months still. Then at my next session, the instructor told me I was allowed to use my deal still, the owners were doing it in good faith. I am sorry, but the deal stated I had two month, so technically that was not in good faith, that was what was originally agreed upon with them and groupon. It was what they advertised! The facility changed locations into a newer building. It is nice, and the classes are small. I think the maximum class size I had was of 5 people and the minimum was just me. It was nice that the instructor still held the class with it being only me. I do not know if it was actually working, I was sore after only 2 of the 7 sessions I attended. The classes are not hard, just follow her counts. The instructor changes a few things up each class, but most the moves are the same. Around my 6th or 7th class, the instructor informed me that the deals would not be honored after October. Mind you, I still had a month to use my remaining 3 or 4 classes on my groupon. They clearly don't make you feel welcome if you have a groupon so I decided to not argue that I had paid for 10 classes and it wasn't expiring. I did stop going because I felt that I wasn't really welcomed. read more

Lemuel is great. When I started I was having issues with my left arm and left knee. I was limited range of motion. With Lemuel's coaching, I have been able to do things I haven't been able to do in years. I am able to lift 90lbs, able to walk without knee pain and enabled me to conquer my fear of reverse push up/barbell inverted row. I was taking my Saturday moring walk and have been noticing their sign and decided to go inquire about their facility. I have a 20 mos. son and needed to get it in to gear to once and for all to lose the rest of the inches I gained!! I was desperately seeking a place to work out in my budget and Renee was so helpful and told me the awesome deal they were running - $19.95 Unlimited Express Training workouts - DONE! Started Dec. 10, 2013 and I am hooked!! For so many reasons: excellent facility, clean and new machines. The trainers are professional and always on point!! They are very informative and know exactly the right combination to burn and grow stronger! Even though only one is training you during the Express, trust they are all watching from a distance your form/progress and most importantly cheering you on. Some people don't need all that but I DO!! I go to do cardio 3-4 times a week plus 3 Express Training and Dawn, Lemanuel, Henry, Michael, Lawrence and Tony are always greeting me and making me feel welcome. Always giving me that little push to make me work harder! I was very impressed last Saturday while doing my cardio I was admiring the owner, Antonio Armstrong, from a distance train a young boy with drills just the way he was handling him (touched my heart!! He is so down to earth and I like the someone else described him to me, "I think he loves people more then he loves money!" And you can see and feel this about Antonio. The list goes on and on and I can't get enough of this place NOT to mention the inches are coming off!! Oh yeah and the music, that's the best! They have excellent play lists!! I have been going to first class pilates since the day it opened. Jermaine is great. He is fun to work out with and knows his stuff. I do core training, stretching and also some circuit training there. Wish I could workout there every day. My flexibility has improved and definitely balance is much enhanced. A great core training if you need a balance of techniques to get yourself in shape. read more

I take the Pilates classes with Rebecca and Michelle, and I absolutely love it! They are both very attentive. The classes aren't huge, 8 reformers in total, so they really focus on everyone there and make sure you are doing every exercise correctly. I've never done Pilates before so I was a bit nervous my first class. Rebecca walked me through everything and made me feel very comfortable. If you sign up for Pilates you can use the cardio equipment anytime, which I think is great! The staff at the gym are so nice and friendly.My husband is starting to look into fitness classes here also. I really can't say enough good things! read more

I have been training with Jason for almost a year. I am never bored and never know what to expect when it comes to a workout. I am always challenged, but in a fun way! The gym is not intimidating at all and the staff is extremely friendly and knows the business. My two sons also train there, as part of a speed and agility workout. Mike moves their bodies and gets their heart rates up. Better than sitting in front of an electronic device! They have learned how to PROPERLY and SAFELY do "simple" things like sit-ups, push-ups, lunges, etc. The things kids should know, but their bodies are a little confused about.
