It's not hard to see why Vantage Point Coffee has gotten off to a great start since it opened…read moreearlier this year! It really checks all the boxes I look for when placing one in the stellar category. Things like being well decorated (the walls have a good amount of art and pictures spread throughout and it's not overwhelming), adequate seating, along with a variety of it is as well (there is regular table seating, some soft chairs, and bar style seating near the entrance), the right kind of baristas (courtesy and happy to talk with customers - along with being able to make a solid white mocha latte for me!), and personally, I just enjoy being there. Vantage Point Coffee got off to an outstanding start on all things I look for in a coffee shop, so I stuck around! Well, part of the reason was that a friend of mine who was supposed to meet me here had to canceled, so I took advantage of the time to get pics and talk to two excellent baristas, Presliegh and Zach. Presleigh gave me the low down on what Vantage Point was all about, while Zach and I chatted about sports a bit as we men like to do! Well, here's what I really loved! First, I will say that I'm not crazy about Monin syrup and I usually avoid shops that use it. It's just because of my taste buds, not so much any coffee shop's fault. HOWEVER, when I saw the Ghirardelli dark chocolate syrup on the back counter, it was all over! They let me know that they make their lattes with the dark and white chocolate Ghirardelli syrups! I was all in! I picked the Holiday peppermint mocha frap dark chocolate version. Why am I crazy about Ghirardelli syrups? I first had my lattes with it in San Diego and it's stuck with me since -with no regrets! Presleigh made an outstanding Holiday frap for me. I didn't catch her before the drizzle and the sprinkles were added, but it was ok. I drank every bit of it and WILL return on Christmas week to get that Holiday white chocolate either latte or frap depending on the weather. Of note, The shop was clean and well kept on the counters and seating areas. I really liked that people are informed on how to get on the free WiFi right at the register. At least it makes answering the 50 Yelp questions easier to answer when you try to check in on the app! It is a nice convenience. I would say they might consider lowering the music a little. It was on the border of being loud - just for awareness. Other than that, I was a sugared up very happy hombre on this day! Stop by here and visit! Especially if you love Ghirardelli syrups in your lattes and fraps! Recommend: HIGH

When you walk in the owner is often the one to great you, the cash register to the left of the entrance, and a lovely assortment of trinkets to the right. The food itself was nice and light. I enjoyed the Knafeh. We also got an assortment of drinks. My personal favorite was the Salep (like a more savory creamier hot chocolate, hold the chocolate). The masala chai was a decent price for a pot and had a delightful flavor, I've since taken multiple people and a variety of different pallettes enjoy the flavor. This is a great date spot, but also low key enough to just enjoy if you want a place to relax, there's a small bookshelf if you wanted to un plug and read while you enjoy your tea. Ps. The owner is a professional guitarist, my friend who is also a professional musician has a wonderful time chatting with him about their shared passions.

The photos didn't lie. This place is nicely tucked away from the Atlantic and San Pablo craziness. Walking in I felt transported to another country. As cliche as that sounds I don't have any other way to describe it. I love the items imported straight from Turkey for sale (the staff are true salespeople as they really wanted me to purchase something. They were beautiful but I didn't see anything that I HAD to have). In the back. the wisteria hanging from the ceiling and the middle eastern sofa for lounging and maybe for some snacks and hookah made it seem so cozy. I loved all the decor. The first thing we got was the Turkish Coffee that was heated in hot sand. The guy serving us, I wasn't sure if he was the owner or not was really great. He warned us not to ingest the coffee grind/powder/sludge on the bottom but that we'd really enjoy the taste. That was perhaps the best tasting coffee I've ever had not to mention it was nuclear hot. We got the Charcuterie for 2 which had lebna or lebneh, cheddar, gyro meat which I thought was shawarma but it wasn't, grape leaves, hummus, fruits and crackers with a side of honey and pita bread slices. I don't remember having lebna before but I loved it. There were some extras we got like the mozzarella balls, the ful medames, olives, and I believe some kind of date cakes. Trust me. We were good after eating all of this. My fiance also had Lentil soup which he said was nice and simple. Definitely had a wonderful experience.

It's the kind of coffee shop where you can grab a great cup of coffee, sit down for a bit, and actually enjoy the atmosphere. The space feels modern but relaxed, making it a nice spot whether you're meeting a friend, catching up on some work, or just taking a break from the day. The coffee here is excellent. You can tell they take their beans and roasting seriously. The espresso drinks are smooth, rich, and full of flavor without being overly bitter. They also have a nice selection of specialty drinks if you're in the mood to try something a little different. They offer a good variety of breakfast items and pastries as well, which pair perfectly with the coffee. Everything tastes fresh and well prepared--simple but done right. Another thing I appreciated was the friendly service. The staff is welcoming and efficient, and the overall energy of the place feels very positive. It's also convenient that they have a drive-thru if you're in a hurry. All in all, Brass Tacks Coffee is one of those local spots that keeps people coming back. Great coffee, good food, and a relaxed environment make it an easy recommendation if you're in the Jacksonville Southside area.
