This is a gym like no other that I have experienced. Gym isn't even the word I would use. Training…read morezone is more accurate. The outside looks like a warehouse, but inside is an astro turf field that is marked similar to a football field. D1 Training offers one-on-one training as well as womens, mens, and co-ed boot camp style classes. The calendar will fit anyone's schedule. The first class is offered at 530 and the last one at 7pm. The safe is excellent. Quick to help you and answer any questions. They offer a free fitness type assessment to see if 1)you even like the type of training they do and 2) to see where you would best fit in when it comes to classes. My fitness assessment was one-on-one and included a comprehensive dynamic stretching period, the fitness portion, and a cool down. It was a out 45 minutes! The fitness portion included tire flipping, sled pushing, ball slams, and some ab work and finished with a plank hold. Very challenging and fun! After my assessment I had some time to talk with Dan, the trainer who gave my assessment. We spent time talking about my goals, the training facility, and he answered all my questions. I never felt rushed or like an annoyance. They do offer single classes or packages for both boot camp and personal training. They do have classes for kids as well. If you're looking for a unique place to ramp up your workout, check out D1!

I have to give D1 an overall very poor rating at this point…read more That in no way reflects on my trainer, Randy Webb, who is the best there is as far as I am concerned. I have known and have worked out with Randy, off and on since 1985. My wife and I have been regulars for nearly the past year. The problem is the management of the facility...or lack thereof in this case. When D1 first began in Chattanooga, it was set up to train professional level athletes and any others who wanted that level of rigor. Oh, how things have changed. Today, when you walk in during evening hours, you will likely see groups of twenty or more children being taught how to be a cheerleader or perhaps some low level workout routine or you might see some soccer or softball team doing some basic workouts, but you will not see any professional, collegiate or even high school level athletes being trained for maximum performance. It is a bit of a daycare rather than a serious athletic facility at this point. There may be as many as seventy five or a hundred children in the facility at one time....with their parents standing on the sidelines in support. And then you will see Randy's dedicated group trying to find enough space in the facility to even workout because the owner seems to kick this business to the side to accommodate the larger groups of children. I guess ultimately it really is all about the money. I get that. Now, I certainly have no problem with children receiving some type of athletic instruction. Good for them. That's great. Our schools are probably failing them in this arena, but this facility was not designed for mass training of elementary and middle school students, nor was the parking lot designed to accommodate dozens of adults who park in the lot but are not really customers themselves. This brings me to make a few points about how the facility is managed. My fellow workout friends have mentioned and even complained on several occasions about the type of music that is played on the loudspeakers, while children are present, and while others are working out. Without going in to detail, it is often very loud, the lyrics are just not suitable for children and/or young adults...or even adults in a civilized society. They are filled with sex, violence and other street language that you can probably imagine. This is what is being heard by these young people. It is simply not appropriate. The parking lot has very limited capacity. When all the children have filled the facility and their parent are there to watch, there are no more spaces to be used by actual customers. If a car is parked on the street above the facility, leading to the AMC Theaters, it will be towed according to the signs, and they are serious. The main street is not wide enough to accommodate street parking so that is not an option. The only other option is to jump a curb and park in the grass. Today it was raining heavily. My wife and I were scheduled to meet at the facility for Randy's 5:30p class. When I pulled in to the parking lot, there was not an empty parking space in the lot due to the situation I have described above. I backed up and carefully backed on to the grass to do as little damage as possible in the rain. I looked up and a gentleman was approaching me. I rolled down my window in the rain and it turned out to be the owner of D1. He advised me that he could not let me park there and told me to park on the street above, knowing full well that I would be towed. I objected. He then told me to park at Home Depot, two hundred yards away....and then walk in the pouring rain. I told him he was not being very accommodating or courteous to a regular customer. I actually told him he was running business off. He could not have cared less. He wanted to protect his grass. There are several other problems that I have observed with the overall management of the D1 facility but suffice it to say that, aside from fully recommending Randy Webb as a trainer, there is no way I could in good conscience, justify recommending the D1 facility to anyone who is serious about working out in a professional atmosphere. There are better options.

Nice Gym, Good Equipment, Good Price…read more So to start this out I almost never even came to this gym because the reviews were rough. I'm glad I came because this is actually a really good gym! The people who made the bad reviews seem to have some personal issue or I'm not sure what with this gym. I like this gym, it's a good value for what you are paying. If you compare it to lifetime fitness and fail to realize you pay $100 a month less per person here you are not being fair to them. It's a good gym. I want to give 4.5 stars and they don't need much to get 5 stars. I like the Hammer Strength Plate Loaded equipment, it's great quality and ergonomic. I had never really used any technogym equipment before and I must say the ellipticals upstairs with the straps instead of linkage on the back is possibly the best long stride elliptical I have used! They have childcare! This is great, you just have to watch the hours as it's not available mid day for a few hours. They have a huge pool I haven't used yet. They have classes I haven't tried yet. They have CrossFit there too. I'll make a better review with more pictures another time, I just wanted to give these people the frost they deserve since they need some real reviews. Friendly Notes for the gym to make 5 stars: #1. The Techno-Gym ellipticals need to be leveled so they don't wobble. 1 in the far back row on the right? upstairs isn't usable for a 230 pound man or it had a death wobble when you're at level 20 and pushing. #2. An inner outer thigh machine would be appreciated. The only one is in the women's only room.... 3. An ankle strap for the cable cross would be appreciated. 4. A water bottle refill station would be appreciated. 5. An abdominal twist machine would be great too. 6. The life fitness chest press adjustment cable has been broken a long time. 7. The upstairs 45 degree back extension behind the cardio needs new slide inserts so it doesn't wobble all over.

I posted my concern on Google for Rock Fitness in Fort O. I have read all the reviews and comments…read moreand noticed the responses are typically the same as I received. No reply like "we'll work on it", "we'll see what we can do", or any response that shows they care what the clients think. Most of their response was not the true story. There are no paper towels and no towels in the class room to use. They don't allow a second review on their website either. Love the class I take just saying the staff is lacking in skills dealing with people. Read reviews!

Really really love this gym. I've been coming in 4-5 days a week since they opened about a month…read moreago and I always enjoy my workout. Because they are new it's still pretty empty in the morning and I have plenty of space and equipment to work with. I've never needed to share anything and those who I've worked out next to are always in their own groove, doing there own thing. Everyone is polite and kind and no one ever bothers me, which is the best perk (if you know, you know lol). Everyone seems to have a reason to smile and that's the atmosphere you want to stay a part of. Truly love it. So let's talk about the staff. The staff are awesome! Siobhan and Tanner are always working hard in the morning when I come in. Huge shoutout to both of them for keeping the gym absolutely spotless. Tanner keeps those floors spotless, especially... I mean seriously.. he's on top of that hard work everyday. And Siobhan is always leading tours and helping maintain the front desk, folding towels and also helping to keep things clean. They always seem to stay busy ensuring tasks are completed. They seem to make a great team and both are super friendly and helpful in between. Major kudos to the AM crew! Unfortunately I had to put my membership on freeze as I'm heading back to my home state for a while and no 24 hour fitness gyms close to me. I'm keeping my membership because my experience here so far has been so fantastic I can't wait it come back, plus the price is next to nothing anyways so that's a no brainer. Talk about a deal ;). In the meantime I wanted to make sure to give credit where it's due. Dear management, you took on a great gym and hired some fantastic staff. Thank you for making my time in Chatt so memorable. For no reason but for leaving a honest review about a nasty unsafe gym that needs better management! The one in Hixson is the real deal..the better place to workout..don't waste your time or offend these guys or you'll be banned as well. Their mngt left comments I was banned on my review but never explained why.
