Old Delhi Butter Chicken, Hakka Fried Rice with chicken, Naan
    Nora D.

I ate here a while ago with a friend. The food was pretty good. We got the butter chicken, naan, and Hakka fried rice with chicken. We ordered at the medium spice I think? It wasn't spicy to me. But the flavors were good! Service felt a bit slow and it wasn't busy when we went on a weekday night. Overall food was pretty good. Nice interior. Music was a bit loud for a place where it's designed to be a bit like a lounge.

Came here and we were the only table for a little bit then about 3 more groups came after us. I feel like the service was not as good as it could have been the food was alright too nothing out of ordinary. If I ever want some Indian infused food I could somewhere else that's better

This is such a cool spot to grab food. It's close to so many places on the northeast side of Indy, it made it easy to stop in for a lunch with my friend. We did the winter menu and split everything. 100% worth it! If you aren't into Indiana food or are just starting to try it - go here! There's a little fusion in some dishes and I couldn't stop eating everything we got

We found this spot on the Devour Indy list and I'm glad we chose to try it! With the 3-course menu, we were able to split 6 different dishes and all were delicious. We especially loved the Chinese Bhel, which we'd never had before. It was crispy and very flavorful - a great appetizer. The desserts (Kulfi and Halwa) were interesting and fun to try as well. The portions here were just right and the service was nice, attentive and quick.

This place is the best Indian food you can find in Indy! The staff is really friendly and welcoming. Their place is sort of small, dark, and quiet. It's the perfect spot for a date night! The servers do a round robin style service so they are so attentive and are checking on you often. We ordered the butter chicken and peanut masala. The buttered chicken was the best thing I've had. When you put it over a bed of rice it was to die for. Really well developed flavors. We had cocktails from their full bar and enjoyed the evening! Will definitely be returning!

Would have never noticed this place without Yelp but glad I gave it a try! They are tucked on the back side of the Disc Replay near the Best Buy and Castleton mall. My friend and I were greeted as soon as we walked in and taken to one of their leather booths. The host was also working as a server and quickly brought us some waters. We tried crispy corn, which was very interesting--I think frying the corn brought out a bit of the sweetness, and the texture made it easy to get stuck on your teeth. The garlic naan was wonderful, and my 1947 Tikka was tender and juicy. There are no bones, so you can eat it easily with a fork and knife. Would definitely come back for lunch!

Wow, just wow. The ambiance is amazing and the service is impeccable. The menu is very diverse and they offer a full and extremely well completed bar. They offer all the normal drinks and then a great offering of specialized Indian drinks to complement. Our party of four had two appetizers and they were extremely tasty. The cauliflower dish is almost similar to a Kung Pao chicken but ten times better. Our entrees were very well prepared and so flavorful. We had some with hair that was prepared perfectly a lamb dish and a vegetarian entree. The same care is in the back of the house to as the restrooms are clean and well equipped. Highly recommend and will be back often.

We will be back for sure! The butter chicken was flavorful, the paneer was smooth. We also enjoyed the saffron rice and the garlic naan. Service never let our water go low, the ambience was contemporary and clean. I also liked the music. The samosas come 2 to an order and was a decadent potato start.

Lamb curry is really good, a lot of meat... Butter chicken is good, very rich. Chili Naan is good.

Came here with my family for dinner and we were not disappointed. Service was good and food was great. The ambiance inside is quite nice and modern and I like the fact that the lighting is dim and not too harsh. We ordered the butter chicken, saag paneer, basmati rice, garlic/chili naan, and the manchurian. Everything was good but the highlight of the night was definitely the manchurian. Not too mushy with the right amount of kick in spice! Will definitely be back to try more of the indian fusion items off of the menu!

    Tandoori Chicken

The place has gotten a major overhaul! It's much cozy and warm! This place has consistently produced the best tandoori chicken-non saucy and smoky! The butter chicken is less of what I would like though. It needs more cooking. The service is excellent and servers are always there to answer your questions and keep you filled up on drinks.

Super good samosas. Perfectly flaky and tasty. The tandoori chicken was pretty ok. I arrived around 9:30 pm and they let me know the kitchen was closing soon. Id like to try the chicken again earlier in the day. The place was lowkey fancy and really big. There seemed to be two sides of the restaurant one with tvs, where people were watching cricket. And the other with leather booths and no tvs. My server was also the host and checked on me often. When I took my food to go they gave me 2 cylinder containers. More so for soup or a sauce. It was pretty interesting watching him shove a chicken thigh and drumstick into a soup container. It sealed shut after much effort so I had no complaint.

The staff was friendly and the restaurant decor is very nice. The menu is pretty basic and I really wish they had more descriptions because I wasn't sure what to order and there was a language barrier. We had a hard time understanding our server. The food is priced high. Everything is a la cart. They charge 6 dollars for a side of plain rice. I can not justify the prices for the food. Everything was disappointing. The naan wasn't good the chicken was terrible. I ended up having to send it back and went back and forth with them removing it from my bill. I got a virgin drink and it was 8.25. Somehow more than an alcoholic beverage. We had to ask for refills and napkins. Service was subpar. I think the prices and food just don't match.

The Vijayawada Chicken 65 Biryani was really good. It has great flavor, though the chicken quantity felt a bit less compared to the rice. Their salt & sweet lime soda was also nice and refreshing. On another visit, we tried both the veg and non-veg thalis. They were decent, not amazing, but good enough. The portions were huge. Honestly, they could reduce the biryani rice in the thalis and just offer refills to avoid food waste. My absolute favorite here is the juicy chicken mandi. I've tried mandi at a few places in the US, and this is one of the best I've had. The chicken is flavorful, the portion is great, and the rice is super aromatic. It comes with yogurt sauce, curry sauce, mayo, and veggies. It's only available on weekends, but it's definitely worth it. Overall, solid service and some standout dishes. I'd definitely come back for the Mandi.

Lots of options, but wish the food was warmer. The food was okay, not the best Indian buffet I've had. It was good for $20, but probably would not crave it. Nothing stated or implied that an entire surrounding week would be treated as a holiday. Despite this, staff at Honest Indian Restaurant refused to honor the certificates on December 23, arbitrarily claiming the entire week was a holiday. That claim directly contradicts the written terms at purchase and improperly rewrites the conditions after payment was made. Treating the entire week as a holiday effectively renders paid gift certificates null and void while still valid, which is deceptive and unacceptable. This refusal was escalated to the manager, who upheld it. December 23 is not a holiday. Businesses do not get to invent exclusions after the fact to avoid honoring money already paid. After driving over an hour with my entire family, we were forced to leave without redeeming funds we had already purchased. I will not return and do not recommend this business.
