We make a reservations at 1933 for 12:00 on Mother's Day. When we arrived, we saw the change of ownership sign and all the waitstaff were wearing Legends shirts. The young lady at the front seemed very frazzled and we soon found out why. The dining area was packed and after we were seated we started noticing the wait staff apologizing to other tables for the delay in food coming out of the kitchen. Management had overbooked the restaurant and understaffed the kitchen. They had a limited menu yet they were struggling to get food out. We were there an hour before our food arrived and tables around us who arrived before us were still waiting for food. Our poor server Elizabeth was great but you could tell she was so stressed. Food was hit and miss Crepes were delicious Over easy eggs were overcooked and the tater tots were not crispy or warm. Legends management /ownership needs to get their act together or they will be closed down before the change of ownership is complete. read more

I can't speak on the food, but I will say that they have put a lot of effort into their event venue. With plenty of space for all your friends and family, plus tons of shade. This is a great option for your baby and bridal showers, reunions and birthdays - just about any celebratory event. There's even a full bar! Take a look at 1933 next time you're in the search for an event venue! read more

Really cool bar with good food and super great environment! They have a pool table and big TV's! They even had karaoke when we came in Friday night which was really cool. It's a super chill bar where you can just chill! The other side has dancing and is more like a club but the side we were on you can order food and drinks and also watch the game and play pool so it's a really nice mix depending on what you are trying to do that evening! If you want to dance or just hang you can do it all here in one location! read more

Food was good. But service was awful. Our server was rude. One person in our party didn't get her fish until 9 others finished their meal. Then offered to either not give her the food or give her the food and take half off then had attitude. Disappointing. Won't ever go back. Oh and there was only 2 other tables and none of us didn't get a refill with empty cups for over an hour. read more

We went not knowing it was under new ownership. Everything was still amazing. Great service. Food came out quickly! They also have a great happy hour! read more

I have come here for many Emo Night events and a couple of concerts, and I have always had a great time! I appreciate that the restaurant is attached to the venue by a little hallway so that I can sneak over for some little appetizers when I am hammered and waiting for my ride LOL My biggest complaint is that the bathroom situation is garbage. They have one small hallway with both men and womens bathrooms, and the walk way gets blocked like a little traffic jam if you have people trying to walk in both directions when the line has people in it read more

Mother's Day Disaster!!! I made reservations to take my cancer battling mother out to lunch at this establishment.. as this could be her last ..we wanted it to be a special day .. 1pm reservation.. My parents arrived 20 mins early ...this is typical for them . When we arrive..we stood at the door 10 minutes waiting to be seated..The young woman informed us she was unable to sit us.. no walk ins nor people who have reservations.. The main bar as you walk in had 5 - 8 open tables .. I'm like well I made a reservation over a week ago @ that moment I get a call from my parents who are in another area of the restaurant.. let them know they are refusing to seat us ..my dad is like well there is open tables & plenty of chairs I'll be right up ..Dad speaks with gal .. telling her there is open chairs at our table ..why can't they sit at our table ? Gal is extremely rude .. insisting there is no way we are sitting down with my sick mother..on MOTHERS DAY ..After speaking with my dad..he said they had been waiting for 20 mins just to get a drink we decided to go to else where.. just really disappointed in the entire experience.. the staff was rude.. unprepared.. obviously understaffed. It's one thing to be short staffed.. it's another to have attitude & disregard people.. no apology..no class ..was considering this place for a wedding venue for my daughter.. Parents had never been ..which is why we choose this place.. So happy we dodged that bullet .. Take you business else where ..they have no regard for their customers.. wish I could give negative stars read more

ZERO STARS. Bad service is one thing and terrible food is another. But to get BOTH is so disappointing and a waste of money. We were 1 of 3 tables and you would have thought the place was packed with how terrible our service was and our waitress disappearing. We ordered the happy hour tacos and nachos. I've had better nachos at a high school concession stand and the tortillas for my tacos were so stale they were crumbling. Also, we ordered 2 sodas that were 2 different prices. Never will we ever support this place again. read more

AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING! Looking for a place to eat and enjoy time with your friends/family? This is your spot. Great weekly specials and great atmosphere to eat and have a drink with some friends. Great inside ambiance, friendly staff, yummy food and great drinks. I ordered the meat and cheese platter, under $20 and you get a lot of food (highly recommend). So delicious and filling, I will also recommend the appetizer sampler as well. As far as customer service goes it was perfection. We were served by Meghan and she was delightful, informative and fun to interact with. Will definitely be back soon, I hear there are bands that play there, adult sized games in the back room and a multi-fireplace patio area. 100 stars from me. Great experience! read more

Breakfast available on weekends... plenty of options, affordable, friendly staff, breakfast cocktails or non alcohol drinks something for everyone. As for my order: Bloody Mary with a breakfast shot, bacon & cheese omelet with country potatoes, sourdough toast and side of hollandaise sauce (for the omelette). Our table also had pancakes, biscuits & gravy, Eggs Benedict, and chicken fried steak which were all hailed as terrific and hit just the right spot. Highly recommend considering them as a weekend stop. read more

What even anymore 1933. Legends? What even is that bro? I thought I could just walk in and sing again, but no. It is gone. The art is gone. I walked in; ordered a cosmopolitan and the lady said "we don't have karaoke anyone". Okay. Like why am I even there then? I don't understand. Why do you have to hurt my feelings? Ever since I moved to Bakersfield all I had is 1933 karaoke nights they're the only people that allowed me to be me. Now, I am lost. I can't sing. I don't have an audience. I am lost and will never be found. I am so confused because honestly this was the only place that made me feel at home. Please bring back karaoke. That's all I care able. I don't want good drinks; I don't want friends; I just want karaoke. Please. I will never come back unless karaoke is back. RIP 1933. read more

Went in on a Monday to watch a football game, they had cute Halloween decorations up. The place was very spacious and not too busy for 6pm. The waiter was so sweet and accommodating for our large group. We ate on the restaurant side. The food was delicious, I recommend trying their onion rings, garlic Parmesan wings or even the chicken strips! Their prices are fair and great food! They even hold special events on the bar side, the y have trivia nights, and when I was there they had a cookie decorating event going on! The restaurant was even kid friendly (except no kid menu). Definitely stop in for good grub! read more

Came here a few weeks ago for lunch. I'm not going to lie, but as you walk in it can be a little overwhelming/intimidating. But once you sit down and someone comes over to help it gets better. It will remind you of all the old mi it's you watched on television. Very prohibition. The vibe is great! The two I was with had sandwiches and I had the chili and sandwich, and everything was great! read more

I asked my kids to lunch and they directed me here. I didn't even know this restaurant existed until today. It's tucked off the street in a huge building with a industrial feel with high ceilings and several enormous TV's. They have a big meeting room which is available to rent and a great outdoor patio area with misters. They have a nice big menu from burgers to appetizers and sandwiches to pick from. We ordered BBQ burgers and a cheesy flatbread and a order of Mac and Cheese. The Mac and Cheese is absolutely delicious. and you can order your cheeseburgers cooked the way you want. The fries are insane here. All our meals were great and the service was too. I am definitely going to go back. I'm so excited my kids told me about the 1933. They also have a great happy hour so don't forget to stop by. read more

Here for a concert and jeez, the music they have before the bands go on is something else. I understand that the theme of the venue is an old-time speakeasy, but do we really have to listen to the golden ages of music before a show we want to be hyped up for? Also doors opened a little after 5 and bands didn't start playing till 7 which i generally wouldn't be bothered by if I wasn't being forced to listen to Elvis, The Everly Brothers, Buddy Holly, and Dean Martin. Don't get me wrong, the golden ages of music was a great time but not something I planned to listen to 2 full hours before a rock show Also the events are all ages but I saw plenty of people vaping inside the venue during the main act feet away from children Maybe I'm picky, and my opinion might be garbage, but that music was making me want to go to sleep or just leave altogether before the bands actually got on. read more

15 Jan 2024 707 post meridien Yelpatins log: Soggy fish and chips. Boooo. Was attending for a cookie decorating, and they offered table service from the kitchen for the event! Win win, right? The only crunch I got was from the burnt tips of the fries and the cookies. The cake slaw was fine, but I was really out of the fish being just soggy and mushy. It's almost like instead of frying it, it was microwaved to avoid crusping up the outside. read more

This place is horrible. We used to come here all the time about 3 years ago. The food was amazing, service was great, there were a lot of people working. It was also nice and clean, like any other restaurant just a little better. We hadn't gone here in a while until last week. The service wasn't horrible and my grandpa liked it. Until we came here today. There were 2 people working, (there's normally only 1) and there was about 4 party's. (Including us) we started off by ordering our drinks, and I will give them that they came out pretty fast. Right after that we ordered. My dad got the sesame chicken salad, my grandma the salad with potato skin, and I had the kids chicken strips. (Keep in mind, the easiest to make) We ordered our food and then about 10 minutes later everyone's food had came out except mine. Maybe 5 minutes later mine still hadn't came out yet, and me and my dad were starting to get mad. I was to a point I set a timer for 2 minutes until I would write a bad review. And guess what? Here I am! My grandpa asked about the fries and a waiter said US foods is on strike. I don't blame them for that. They can't control it. But that's not any excuse for not putting out anything on the table. No sugar, no ketchup or hot sauce or salt and pepper. (The fries weren't salty, either) So overall, don't go here if you don't want a bad meal. If you do, I strongly recommend. Great job, 1933 for ruining one of my favorite places to eat. Edit: If I could give this 0 stars and shut this place down, I would. My dad just came down with food poisoning, and we are pretty sure it was this place. I don't think the ribs he had could have hit that fast. He ate them that morning and got sick at 11:00 AM. I hope this place shuts down and never returns read more

Went to watch Cowboy game. Service was horrible. Staff kept saying they were short staffed. They definitely tried to accommodate. Manager made excuses about not having enough employees. I've had a lot better from a Frozen TV Dinner than this Junk. Guess it's true what they say, "Chefs stand behind their dishes.", and considering that Matt Hearn from Season 16 of Hell's Kitchen is the chef, it's no wonder why the food is Horrible. read more

In order to save some time, I decided to try out the restaurant here A few hours before My woman and I had a concert to attend next door. To say that we were underwhelmed would be an overstatement. First, we decided to try some cocktails. I went for the standard old-fashioned. She went with a blueish mix drink. She enjoyed hers I thought they didn't do well and just created an average old-fashioned that was not really sweet nor bitter yet quite bland. Next, came our meals. She had the sirloin steak which was undercooked while being tough and chewy. I myself had the grilled chicken. The order came out to be flattened barbecue chicken breast which was nothing more than the grilled chicken slathered with a generic barbecue sauce. The waitress came back and replaced my plate with the correct order. Unfortunately it was tasteless and quite dry in certain parts of the chicken. The only high point was that the garlic mashed potatoes we both got were quite tasty. As for her fries they were dry and chewy. And my vegetables were not cooked properly. I will say that the poor waitress was extremely overworked. She didn't get to us until 20 minutes after we arrived at our table. And she did the best you could to help us with our problems within our meals. We both tried to be kind to her because I can tell that she was just about ready to break down and cry. And all she did her best to correct the situation that happened. In conclusion I'm not going to return to this eating establishment. They need better cooks and better ways of helping out their clientele. The potential for it to be a great one is there. Unfortunately either due to management or the lack of will, I don't think that it would reach to its full account. read more

$7.48 for a beer, that's crazy! Honestly I was going to say "it is what it is" but then the bar tender insults me by saying I was a bad tipper. I didn't tip at all after seeing that price.
