The whole experience was very uplifting. I'll definitely be dropping in again next time I'm up this way.

I decided to check…read moreout Trufit because it was just opening their Detroit location, which happens to be about 1/4 mile away from my office. It certainly doesn't get much more convenient than that. There are several different classes to choose from. TruX has a lot of the same moves and aspects of CrossFit but without the Olympic lifting. Trustrength has less cardio, and is (obviously) more focused on strength. SWEAT is predominantly cardio. And Glow Boxing is precisely what it sounds like - a cardio boxing class under party lights. There is even yogabon Saturday morning. The folks are nice the coaches generally good. You can register and schedule classes with the mind body app, which is hella convenient. It even syncs with my calendar. My main beef is that, only being open a few months, the schedule changes, generally without notice. I have scheduled classes at specific times, only to look at my calendar a few days later and discover that the time on the class was changed to a time I never signed up for. Easily fixable, but annoying. Hopefully random scheduling changes will happen less and less often as the Detroit location becomes more established.

Sauna review ONLY…read more.. I'm very pleased to have a location that I don't have to be a member to use their sauna and on top of that you're able to reserve using their app. Please note they did book quickly, so book a head. **Let me start off - every REIF is pricing is different. So confirm pricing before booking. For all their services, they do request you arrive 15 to 30 mins early which I didn't know they'll also allow you to go in early as well. The sauna has it's own room, so no need to change in the restroom. You'll get a total of 45 mins, so make sure to change FAST. Lol! So why 3 stars? Well I was informed they have WIFI, music streaming, and Netflix (if you have an account) all in the sauna area; unfortunately when i tried internet, it was SO SLOW. I literally couldn't do anything - I was glad at least a class was going so i'll have some good music playing in the background (tried to tone out the instructor). I was excited to use the pre-settings in the sauna system but it seems like it wasn't getting heat enough - eventually i cancelled and turned up to the max. I will return but with a plan - soon as i walk in TURN UP THE TEMPERATURE (while i change) and don't count on internet to be working. If this place was closer, then i might look the other way but since i literally passed two other REIF; I was looking for top notch I guess.

I returned my unused swag bag back to the the HB location and the Mgr was short with me about returning items and wanting my deposit back. She says, "Corporate will send you a check for your deposit." I asked for an email confirmation that I returned my items and I am to receive a refund. She said she would email me. I haven't seen refund or email and had to dispute charges to my bank. I am now reporting them to BBB also for ignoring my phone calls and not replying to any emails.

Q: How can you tell when you meet a CrossFitter? A:…read moreIMMEDIATELY they tell you so. So I'm not sure if that's true, but I will admit that if you do CrossFit, you're always thinking about CrossFit because some muscle group(s) is/are always sore. And if you're thinking about it, you're probably talking about it... CrossFit Toledo is an excellent training facility with excellent instructors. This place is big and clean and equipped with everything you need to learn the craft safely and effectively. Not only can you learn CrossFit here, you can learn to excel at it. If you're motivated, and you listen to the coaches, you can get a kickass workout in this place no matter your CrossFit experience level or fitness level. Warning: Even if you think you're in shape, CrossFit Toledo will expose your weaknesses. Be prepared to deal with this. Again, listen to your coaches, work hard, and you WILL get better. If you're a newbie, you don't have to worry about biting off more than you can chew. Check your ego at the door, learn how to "scale" (that is, learn how to cheat a little while learning the movements and still get an appropriate workout). Also, every new member goes through a couple of "skills" classes where you get, essentially, one-on-one instructions regarding the basic lifts and movements. Workouts; There are 5 classes per day (0600, 1200, 1600, 1700, and 1815), and class size is limited to 12 people. Every class is different. I repeat, every class is different. But, each class is similar in that they all consist of a warmup, a strength phase, and a conditioning phase. There's also a "homebody" option. Even if you have equipment at home, half the benefit of this place is the coaching and the camaraderie. ALSO, there are multiple open-gym sessions through the week. Camaraderie: It's definitely there; this seems like a great group of people. One guy acknowledges that some people call it "CultFit." But hey, can you name ANY fitness pursuit isn't "culty?" Bodybuilding? Culty for the past 80 years. Running? Not as culty as it was, but still very culty. Yoga? Yep, laid back and totally culty. Don't worry about it. You can do CrossFit and still be friends with a person who doesn't...but only one. 5 stars!

The gym space is comfortable and feels more like a family run business than a chain business which I truly appreciate. Love the coaching staff with good Crossfit and Olympic lifting experience. The culture of the gym is very friendly and feels very accepting to outsiders, including myself as seemingly the only gay Crossfitter in Toledo. I definitely give all my thumbs up to CFT. Clocktower-CrossFit is the newest BOX to open in Chelsea - located behind the old Teddy Bear factory; led by head coach Steve Koski, former coach at HyperFit. The owners' group of Clocktower came together to create a new CrossFit community in greater Chelsea area. Box just opened June 1st and they have all been very welcoming and encouraging, even though I am no where near their level of fitness. The facility is outstanding. A lot of space, open air and nicely appointed. A strip of turf runs along the back of the Box for warm-ups, mobility work (stretching out) and field-athlete training. There is plenty of equipment for when the classes get larger. TRX bands for adapted pullups, pushups, etc. Great bathrooms with shower and plenty of space for all of it. The owners have so much experience in the practice of CrossFit; I appreciate their attention to details - like the overhead fans to keep the air moving, the water bottle fill station and the hair ties in the bathroom for when mine breaks. It's the little things sometimes. Coach Koski also has a degree in nutrition. I am very optimistic of my ability to implement the life-style changes to my eating habits, under his instruction. I am not a complete novice when it comes to a balanced diet, however, I don't have the expertise and am happy to have found a Box and Coach that can help guide me. Clocktower-CrossFit is the ultimate CrossFit community Box. I cannot praise it enough. Contact them for a free class, get a 10-visit punch card to try it out for a few weeks, join the beginner CHIME class at a smaller membership fee, or do the all inclusive. There are so many options.

Well, from a first time crossfit participant, well, CHIME participant, I can say that this place rocks. I have done other, 'similar' classes, even taught a few, but this place is defined by more than their equipment and facility- it is defined by its people and its atmosphere. From day one, yes, you will see that the gym itself is immaculate, but it is the welcoming people that make up Clocktower Crossfit that make the difference. The head coach, Steve Koski, has a deep knowledge, both practical and academic, that allows him the expertise of coaching in proper movement to avoid injury- very important. And while I could go on about the rest of the coaches- Bea, Chris, Steve; it is easier to read about them here: http://www.clocktower-crossfit.com/about Everyone is made to feel welcome and everyone is encouraged to push to their ability- a little beyond. I have met some great people here and look forward to making my own improvements. I would completely recommend Clocktower Crossfit to anyone- the newbie and the experienced.

While Ken was not the coach of the class I attended, he was there and we got to chat for a little bit. He was every bit as helpful in person as he was over email. The class itself was small, the coach was helpful and engaged with all the members. I got a great workout and would recommend CrossFit Dexter to anyone looking for a quality gym.

So go ahead and bring your water bottle, winter coat, keys and wallet. You can set your own code. It costs zero extra dollars to use a locker. They're white with an access code and very useful to use. SPENGA went out of their way to make sure you are ready to work out. Extra tampons in the bathroom. Hair ties or ear plugs or gum to grab if you need it at the front desk. Really friendly and smiling faces greet you as you walk in. If you come early enough and are working out with a friend, you can request your bikes to be next to each other. The staff are SO personable that they'll make a note if you are friends with someone so next time you come in they'll put your bikes together. I mean come on! That's service! I have a hard time in my own life to figure out who I'm friends with , lol! Their equipment is all brand new and their facility is clean, updated, and modern. My personal favorites are how long and new their yoga mats are. I can stretch out fully on it without touching the floor. The first time I used their mat I was surprised how new it felt. The bikes are all new cycling tech. They have enough weights for everyone to have a station so you don't have to share which is nice if you want to adjust your weights. SPENGA is three parts. Spin, strength, and yoga. It feels like you're going clubbing inside. They show you which section you are doing by illuminating with lights the section you're working out. Everything else is in the dark. It makes the workout feel more exclusive, like you're part of some cool club. It took me about 2.5 sessions to fully understand how to adjust the resistance of my bike to make my "bar" light up green. The spin portion was by far the hardest to understand what was going on. Go 20 to 30 min early so an instructor can assist you. Once you get the hang of it, it's a good workout. The music is awesome. Just be prepared to have watery legs and a sore bum. I would love strength more if there were less transitions during the very quick 20 min. The workout definitely had me sweating! So it's a good workout. It just moves way too fast for me. I'd rather do just a couple of movements in that time period. The workouts are a combination of using dumbbells, kettlebells, resistance bands, steps, and medicine balls. I love the yoga part because I never stretch in my life, lol. I would recommend to the instructors that some of your audience has never done yoga before and are unfamiliar with the names. So demonstrating instead of just announcing is helpful. They have blocks and straps for ppl like me who are inflexible. But Like I said this is my favorite part. I feel really accomplished at the end of yoga. I love it. Overall, I find SPENGA to be really pricey. I don't think I can commit to their higher prices. If they lowered their one time visits I would go more. However it is a great workout and a great atmosphere. The coaches are kind and pumped and great at what they do. The facility is impeccable. I definitely recommend anyone to go and check it out. I have not regretted going when I went. I've done about five sessions and always left feeling great.
