One word, WOW!! I have dined at the best restaurants In the world from New York City, Saint Barts, to St Tropez and all I can say is the cuisine was at that level or even better! I couldn't believe it, what an incredible surprise. Every bite was amazing. The beef tartar, local vegetables, fresh tile fish, the lamb two ways, and even Sullivan Street Bakery warm bread with their divine tomato spread, all to die for. You can really taste the love in every bite. I cannot wait to go back and get the tasting menu. They made my Belvedere dirty martini to perfection, (which is no easy feat) and the wine was excellent as well, loved the Sangiovese. Did I mention the magical outdoor garden?! I read an article last year on the Northforker magazine n was dying to try it. Reservations were hard to get. So when I was an able to get one for Father's Day, I was so happy. We sat outside in the garden it was very nice. The restaurant is located in the historic Dimon Estate and emphasizes fresh, local, and seasonal seafood. Chris, the wine curator, loved all his suggestions except the Rosé, Moulin de Gassac tasted watery n I sent it back. Even though he says that was one of his best sellers. What can I say? my taste buds are different? I got a Sauvignon blanc that was perfect. Bryce our server was friendly n knowledgeable. Elizabeth the chef came out at the end to check on us, really a nice touch. Having said I need to be honest. Be ready to shell out $$$$. Let's unpack the tasting menu. The restaurant is known for the local fresh tasting menu so we had to try it at $145 per person. The accompanying wine tasting at $80 is 4 glasses w 3 oz pour. That's $80 for 12oz! I'm all for splurging but it sounded a little pricey. We complained n Chris said it was a "tasting" not a full glass. Ok it's supposed to be an accompaniment to the food. I don't think it should be a "tasting ". This is not my 1st fancy dinner. It's not by accident that I'm yelp elute. I've reviewed over 700 places. A muse bouche n petite four would have gone a long way. We got nothing for free except for bread n butter. Free bread from Sullivan St from NYC was very nice but not impressed. Ok the tasting menu started w The quad plate , they put the 4 courses in a plate? To me, that's 1 course. All the items required different temperatures n I didn't know where to start. We mentioned to the chef when she came by at the end. The main courses were nice, the lamb was the best. We did order the steak à la cart, that was good. Overall it wasn't worth the $600 I spent including tip. I can make better dinner at home w same ingredients for fraction of the price. But it was Father's Day. This new restaurant is lovely and charming with great wait staff. The warm bread was so good as were the mussels. I especially enjoyed the little neck clams with roasted tomato and chorizo. The broth was full of flavor and wonderful for enjoying with the warm bread. Loved the local grilled artichokes. Pastas were enjoyable as well as the seafood stew and black sea bass. The panna cotta for dessert was marvelous! read more

This restaurant located on the site of the former Jamesport Manor has the same cozy ambiance filled with charm and garden views but that is where the similarity ends. The current restaurant staff exudes an arrogance they have no right to. The host treats you to a perfunctory hello and asks for your reservation. He then summarily walks off. When you are seated your server takes your drink and water order then departs. A second person then arrives to retake your drink order followed by a third person who arrives with the incorrect order. A request for ice to accompany your bottled water is obviously a major faux pas at this pseudo high end establishment given the reaction of the waiter. I guess that's understandable given the fact that he may have had one other table to serve in the nearly empty restaurant. The food was mediocre at best and downright unappealing at worst. The reaction at my table of six was disappointment. My order of pappardelle with game hen had overcooked pasta with a nondescript sauce and shards of poultry which was ripped and torn in a manner which made it look like it just left someone else's plate. I live and frequently dine out on the Northfork. My taste in food is eclectic with some of my favorite establishments ranging from Northfork Table and Inn to Lenny's Pizza and Restaurant. Sadly, I would recommend either of these establishments for dinner over a visit to 18 Bay. read more

This was the first time we've visited this establishment since it was the Dimon Estate. We were excited to try it as a fine dining experience during the holidays and it was even better than expected! We were greeted by Chris, who let us know that we could call upon him during our meal if we had any needs or questions. Our server was Stephane F. who was amazingly helpful and attentive throughout our evening. The ambiance was warm and inviting in a beautifully-upscale classic atmosphere inside an old farmhouse. I will start off my saying that I really appreciate 18 Bay's philosophy to locally source their ingredients. I loved reading the list of local farms where the produce originated. I feel good supporting a local restaurant who supports our local farms! My Pineapple No-jito (alcohol-free cocktail) was fresh and delicious and spouse enjoyed a couple glasses of nice wine. The bread was superb and served with an eggplant spread: so unique! We chose the "Chef's Menu" which is a curated meal based on the day's offerings. The antipasti course was four small tastes of local produce and meat: tuna, lamb, radicchio, and potato. The pasta course was probably the best part of my meal: tagliatelle pasta made in-house with lobster and peas. I could've eaten this all night! I hope this is at times on their regular menu because I'd love to order this as a main course in the future! We tried both of the mains: I ordered the filet mignon/short rib and spouse got the halibut (which came with currant tomatoes, a new thing for us!). The zeppoles for dessert were served in small paper bags (to shake around the powdered sugar!), which was a delightfully fun way to end a super-fancy meal, alongside chocolate and cherry sauces. What a fun and fancy was for us to spend the evening as an intimate post-holiday meal. We will definitely be back to further explore the menu and will for sure recommend to others! read more

Best restaurant on the East end! So glad they are back. Used to frequent 18 bay on shelter island. So happy they have a permanent home on the north fork. Everything on the menu is amazing. Wow. Wow. Wow. Loved the dinner. And service is primo. Tilefish w baked leeks. It was much fancier than that but I can't remember. My husband loved it. I had lamb two ways with carrots three ways. Omg. The meat was perfect and soo tasty. The carrots were just delightful. Dessert was espresso over vanilla gelato. Lemon and olive oil cake was scrumptious. Large serving too. Ambiance is cozy and warm colonial home. Quinn gave us some excellent service. Polite and attentive. Thank you. We will be back. read more

We had an incredible evening at this exquisite restaurant. I had the 18 Bay Experience when they were in Shelter Island. Thank goodness they are back from their restaurant consulting work to operate this stunning experience. We went with a group of 6 and were seated in a lovely little alcove at a round table. Perfectly prepared craft cocktails led way to the tasting menu. It was simply devine. Staff is excellent, GM came out and chatted with us and even the lovely chef did. Every morsel, from a parsnips soup with lobster and chili oil to the pannacotta were heavenly. You simply must dine here. Bon appetit ! read more

First time dining with them, excellent experience. The restaurant has that old farm house feel that welcomes you. Menu is easy to navigate; a-la-carte or Chef's tasting, hard part is selecting which one as they are both filled with delicious choices. We went a-la-carte this visit and everything was on point ! Started with a salad and broiled oysters, moved on to entrees: sea bass and steak selections. . Finished with desert and cocktails. Nothing disappointed, service, food, ambiance were all top quality.
