Let me tell you, it was an easy, "yes!" after I had the Truffle Mushroom Ragout. Everything we tried was delicious. The ambiance of the main dining area is wood-forward without sliding into rustic, and the lighting and bar feel cozy and familiar. For the rehearsal dinner, we were in the Wine Room. It was a squeeze, but we were so grateful they were able to accommodate our large group with some mobility issues. Our servers were 3 awesome guys: Craig, Matt, and ?? They truly felt like a part of our crew by the end of the night. They were so fantastic! For the Welcome Party, we were upstairs and had two of the rooms. The lighting is so nice and it was great to have the option to go out on the balcony. The Local knocked it out of the park for our event, and we would highly recommend! Olivia was our POC, and she was super informative and happy to answer endless questions.

Food was amazing...great flavor, larger than expected servings. Definitely a great experience.

We had the absolute fortune of being served by Cecilia and had a wonderful four course meal!…read moreCecilia had great suggestions as this was our first time and everything was an absolute hit. There is an extensive beverage menu as well and Cecilia was very helpful for selecting a drink (highly recommend the sans-gria for any fellow N/A drinkers out there!). The European sized dishes came together for a very lovely dinner. The chefs know what they're doing, the front of house is fabulous, and the ambience is warm and cozy!

Open only 4 days a week, the menu changes each week. If you sit in the lounge or at the bar, you can do a la carte, or there are options for multi-course tasting menus where you can choose your courses for most of them. We most recently visited for our anniversary weekend, sat at the bar with Michael, and everything was just excellent. Great portions, seasoning, protein temperatures, dish compositions...you name it, we enjoyed it. I also really, really appreciate their beverage program and wine list. Their wines by the glass list is pretty extensive, and they not only feature a really good selection from around the world, but also VA wines, especially the ones they feature from their own label, made by Joy Ting. I haven't had a wine of hers I haven't liked, but we chose our own adventure this time around by choosing different wines and splitting most dishes so we could try the majority of the menu. It's a 1-2x a year place for me just because we're not local, but it's definitely worth the drive.

Upon learning that information we decided not to order any entrees, just desserts. The food was okay. The pricing of this place is insane. Service certainly didn't dictate this level of ambiance. Atmosphere: 5 Menu options: 4 Taste: 4 Portions: 2 Price: $$$ Service: 3 Walking into the Quirk at the holidays is so fun, and much like the Richmond location, the decor was fun and on point. We headed back to the restaurant and started with the Pink Grouse cocktail to continue the good vibes. I would definitely recommend it if you like vodka based cocktails. Let's talk menu. So there were several good options including a vegan and vegetarian, plus they were amenable to holding the blue cheese on the salad (allergy) which I appreciated. They separate it by starters and sharing optional entrees. We decided for 3 of us to go with 3 starters and 2 entrees. Starters: we ordered the bread, cured beef and salad. Y'all there were 3 tiny slices of bread and butter for like $4. Not okay. The cured beef has 5 tiny slices of meat for like $13. Not okay. The salad was the most generous, but still not huge at $14 considering they know it will be shared; I will say it was my favorite of the starters flavor wise and would order it again though. So as you can see, not impressed. Main: we decided on the lentil ragu ($22) and gnocchi with pork ragu ($26). Both were on point. I would happily order either again, probably opting for the lentil out of preference. The portion was okay, though again for calling it shareable I thought it was a bit small. Service: I respect that the server took our request for more time, but she was not attentive or following up on us for refills. I ordered a glass of port for dessert (no go on the dairy meant no options...) and I didn't get it until after my friends had finished their dessert. Not cool. So I guess I'm feeling generous with my score because I was in good company and isn't that half the point of eating out?

We visited the restaurant from out of town on occasion of our daughter's graduation from UVA. A $90…read moreprice fixed menu with a mandatory 20% gratuity regardless of party size...that's a lot, but perhaps not excessive if the food service and ambience merits a $90 per person three course meal. In this instance, it did not. The service was remarkably slow especially for a fixed menu. The waiter repeatedly apologized for the slow service but did nothing remedy the situation. Including not refilling water glasses during the long waits. We were a party of five and only one person was happy with all three of her courses. Whether or not the customer is in alignment with the chef is often a crapshoot, that is not my principal complaint. My complaint is the ambience and the service sorely lacked from what one would it expect for $90 a plate. There were sporting events on various television screens and patrons at the bar could've been mistaken for "Larry the cable guy". Now don't get me wrong, I like Larry the cable guy as much as the next person but if I'm paying $700 for a celebratory dinner for five people I don't wanna eat next to him in a sleeveless flannel shirt and trucker hat. Couple the diminished ambience with the remarkably slow service and color me dissatisfied. Their day-to-day service may be fine but the special occasion should be avoided. We will not be going back

This hotel is in the middle of a college town that has pretty much nothing except Wal-Mart and a Gold's Gym, and it exceeded my expectations for food quality. What I had during my stay there: their traditional buffalo wings, cobb salad, blue ridge BBQ, triple chocolate cake, guacamole, and hazelnut iced coffee. All of these except for the guacamole were enjoyable to eat. The guacamole tasted like artificially mashed avocados and it was overly acidic. I expected salad that was wilted and sandwiches that came out like a plastic mold, but it didn't. It tasted like good food. I docked them one star due to inconsistent service. There was one specific waitress there who gave us so much attitude and stood around the register/computer the entire time. There were other times where the service was excellent, although still a bit on the slow side. It took them a while to take our orders, and screwed up our order as well. We had to remind our waiter to wipe off our table because there were scraps of food and water spots sitting there for a while. The restaurant is only so big, and there were only so many people, I find this to be subpar service.
