I spent nearly two hours here sipping local beers, writing Yelp reviews and enjoying their fabulous air conditioning. It's a lovely and relaxing space with friendly service and a great selection of beers. Upstairs and downstairs seating and some tables outside, too. When the two-man rock band set up and started blasting away, it was time for me to move on. Other people were enjoying it but that's not my vibe. Decent spot to stop in for some beer and food! They have about 15 beers on tap (including a cider) and rotate regularly, it seems. They have a restaurant inside so you can drink and eat at the same time. Bar seating, table seating, and to go options are available. Be patient, as the bar tender is on island time, and usually alone. So just enjoy!
We were told Ocracoke is a drinking town with a fishing problem! I understand why! The brewery had a ton of options and a beautiful outdoor seating area. We made our way upstairs and sat in comfy chairs. At first I did not get anything because I am not a beer girl, but then I saw a rotating tap for a cider! It was a blackberry cider and yummy! We did not try the restaurant/food options.
Came here for the first time this past weekend. I had their beer during the jazz fest in Manteo last year. Love their Hazy IPA. Not much into beer anymore and it is so smooth. We came here twice during our stay. First time we had the chicken nachos, house salad with shrimp, and crab pretzel. Salad was delicious. We all shared. The nachos were huge and yummy - especially the chicken. Perfectly cooked. The pretzel was ok. Not worth the price for the crab. Would have stuck with the pretzel and cheese. The second time we got the chicken Philly, voodoo shrimp, and the rock fish special. All of the food was cooked perfectly and was delectable. The live music was an added cherry on top. Servers were polite and helpful. They also offered to change the tv to a game that was going on

A hidden gem! Blackbeard approved! A FULL bomb a** menu! From grouper to smoked ribs to stuffed pretzels and hand helds this menu holds nothing back! Even steak night on Thursdays! Plenty of seating nooks to keep your heart happy. Pup friendly on the outside patio. Small game/tv area for the underage crowd! Wine. NA beer. Seltzers. Ciders. Beer. Guest taps. They've got it all! So glad we found these guys! Don't be on the look out for a big sign but rather a red barn style building. You'll pass it on the first time by. Very comfy. Very demure. Surprisingly distinct place for such an off the beaten path place!
I stopped into 1718 Brewery with my parents as part of spending a day on Ocracoke. They have an expansive dining area with plenty of beers to choose from. The bartender guided me in selecting beers for my five-glass flight. The names sounded attractive. I needed her to tell me each beer's signature flavor notes before I commit. I'm a picky drinker. I like craft beers with unique palates. See the picture I attached for what I got on my flight. My favorite is the Pretty Work Kölsch. My dad liked it too. We bought a crowler to take back to our place in Hatteras.

Yesterday I had the oyster po' boy with coleslaw-perfectly fried oysters, fresh toppings, and a flavorful remoulade that brought it all together. Today I came back for the fish tacos with pineapple and slaw, and they're equally delicious-fresh, light, and full of flavor. The portions are generous, everything tastes incredibly fresh, and the menu pairs perfectly with the beer from 1718. The team was friendly and welcoming, and the whole place has that laid-back island charm. If you're in Ocracoke --don't miss this place. We'll definitely be back!
Absolutely love making a stop at this brewery when in Ocracoke. Has a great vibe and always produces solid brews. The inside is spacious and has a second floor that provides inside and outside seating. I usually get the beer flight as there's so many delicious brews to choose from. Plus the flight is sturdy and easy to carry with solid pours. The rooftop seating provides scenic views of the downtown strip of Ocracoke. Thanks for having me!
Stopped by for drinks and a very nice brewery with indoor and outdoor seating. My friends and I enjoyed our drinks upstairs on the roof deck. We tried the it's so hefe, the crisp and happi jaq. I really enjoyed my hefe. Cool spot to grab drinks and I'll definitely come back.
Always a must stop. Their Halloween parties are the best. Awesome spot to see. The Plum Pointe also serves food. The bartenders are always friendly and helpful.

The beer was good, but the BBQ was even better. Had some brisket and was tender and juicy. They did not drown it in sauce either. Let the flavor of the meat come through. There is nothing better than beer and bbq.
I wasn't feeling it here when I went. The brewery is cool, with the tanks and all on the main level, but they had quite a number of brews out of stock. The Mexican chocolate brew I had tasted nasty. Out of the 6 we tried, the Tangerine flavored one was the best. Others were too bitter, or too sour. The seating in this place is odd. Upstairs they have chairs sitting far too back and tables that are too low. It's unfortunate, as the view out to the road is nice. The ground level seating outside is a bit better with picnic tables. For food, you order at an odd looking kiosk table and the staff give you a pager. We ordered the sliders and cheesesteak. Both were okay, but far overpriced. The chips that come with it were overcooked and had a terrible taste to them. They weren't salted and came with no dipping sauce or ketchup. They really need to rethink their side chips; just awful.
1718 Brewing is a highlight of any Ocracoke visit. They pour a great range of beers and usually have a delicious cider on tap. Three pour sizes--taster, half, and full. Both indoor and outdoor seating feel relaxed and welcoming. The swag is fun and perfect for preserving island memories. Also on-site food options to round out the experience. Fun fact: The "1718" in 1718 Brewing refers to the year Blackbeard was killed off Ocracoke Island -- November 1718, during his final battle with Lt. Robert Maynard. Homage to the island's most famous historical event. read more

Great spot for relaxing on the island. Large patio outside both in and out of shade. Had the Happi Jaq IPA and had to go back for another! They had food options from Marauders Kitchen coming out....which looked pretty good :) read more

Went to the island and sW the sites and stopped in here for a cold one. They have indoor and outdoor seating, but being right off the main road, there is some good amount of road noise. Got a flight. Gotta say - the beer was great! Had the Sun Days Wheat and a Where's FEMA IPA. Indoor and outdoor seating. Note that Plum Pointe Kitchen is the food stand inside the brewery. You get the pretzels people are posting in reviews of 1718 Brewing at a separate counter (inside the brewery) under this name. read more

1718 is great. They have a good variety of beers and other offerings. We got a flight of five beers. All were good quality products and tasted great. Service was friendly and knowledgeable. Great place to relax - inside or out - and have a drink. Good merch, too. Highly recommend. read more
Great little brewery! We enjoyed every brew we sampled, I especially liked the Mexican Chocolate brew. My husband loved the East Most West Coast IPA (and chased it all over the island) He reports it was one of the best IPAs he has had. He's a beer guy, he brews his own- my garage is overtaken with his hobby", he takes this crazy beer stuff seriously and I can't say enough good things about the two bar tenders who were great sports to all his beer related questions and commentary. I'm sure they get many home brewing "experts" and must get tired of the same questions and conversations all the time but they never gave a hint of it. On to the food, normally at a brewery food is an afterthought but I have to say I can't stop dreaming about their pretzels!!! Blue crab and cheese studded GIANT pretzels (1 filled my husband and I for lunch!) It came with a beer cheese to dip in. Hands down the best pretzel I've ever had. Go get one! You won't regret it! read more
The inside of this brewery was surprising! Very modern and clean with good swag to take back as a reminder of your time in Ocracoke! We ordered a flight to sample 4 brews and chose a guest cherry cider, staff pick tangerine sour, pretty work kolsch, and where's fema? a hazy IPA. Each of these beers was brewed well and had great flavor and clarity. Where's Fema? had a great citrusy hop flavor and is worth a try if you love IPA's! There's outdoor seating in the sun and shade! Bring your pup, it's dog friendly! The kolsch had a nice nuttiness to it and drank smooth. Next time I come back to the island I will defiantly stop here for another drink! read more

This brewery was awesome. We visited during COVID, and their precautions were on point. We each got a flight of 4 beers - I've seen other reviews That mentioned the beers were five flights, so I'm not sure when this was changed. Both my husband and I loved their Notorious F.I.G. the best - it was so good! We bought a growler to bring home. We also got the crab stuffed pretzel from Plum Pointe and it was AMAZING. I'm not a huge pretzel fan, but this thing was bomb. Only reason for missing a star is that it was a bit messy - crumbs and napkins underneath the table, flies, and a dead hummingbird in a spider web in the window read more

If I was chilling with Blackbeard back in 1718, I would totally raid this place. The beer is very good and extremely affordable, with a flight at $12 for 5 samples at 5 oz each. I would recommend doing that and getting the Hop Johnnie or the Brunch IPA if they are on tap. Healthy size pours for very little money! Food: 4/5- hip bar food at reasonable prices, such as Salmon sliders or Korean pork plate. Great tasting Hawaiian pork tacos too! Ambience: 5/5 the space is ideal for drinking, with wooden furniture and walls, lots of stools and high tables, and a sweet loft with couches. A couple TV's are there if you have a small group that wants to see a game. The space isn't huge so may be tough for larger parties Service: 5/5- maybe it's southern hospitality but the servers were exceptional. They even put a can of beer I brought (you can't drink outside beers there) into their fridge to chill until I was done! Value: 5/5, as I mentioned the prices are cheap for the quality of beer and food. So overall, awesome. Blackbeard would tell ye to get your first mate and parrot into this brewery with all haste, yarrrrr! It's good. read more

Staff was friendly and they have a dog friendly patio with water bowels. The nachos were delicious and the flight was a must. The bartender provided recommendations and suggestions. Only thing to note is the food is a separate thing from the brewery. read more

Soft opening today, at last after nearly 2 years of construction on the site that was formerly the Atlantic Cafe, right next to Howard's. They have 9 types of beers to start with a nice mix of IPA's, Saisons & seasonal beers, they even have a fig beer, who knew? They also serve several types of wine & will be soon serving food, I guess there was a snafu with the original designated vendor. It's spacious and open and with 2 floors, multiple doors & decks you get the fresh air coming off the ocean. A considerable amount of thought has been put into the design of this 11 barrel brewery complete with a logo that gives a nod to the flag hoisted by the pirate Blackbeard. We met Garick the owner who said they kept part of the original Atlantic Cafe wall, you did Mrs Toth proud! read more
