My only disappointment is that they only serve breakfast and lunch, and not dinner. It is a culinary teaching program, and they have limited hours. Their Spring 2025 semester is closing soon on May 15, 2025. It is open Monday to Friday, 8:30 A.M. to 3 P.M. Breakfast is served from 8:30 am to 10:30 am Lunch from 9 am to 2 pm. Twenty-four of us had our monthly luncheon there in April. Everyone raved about their order, and many have been back since bringing their friends. Downtown Riverhead is welcoming to shoppers with ample free municipal parking and increased security. The facility is accessible through the rear door adjacent to the Municipal lot behind 20 Main Street. Our group asked to come back in May. The staff is friendly, the food terrific, and the facility clean. If you walk towards the rear entrance, you will see students working with their teachers. The entire kitchen is on view. Once you place your order, you can wait in the adjacent room looking over Main Street. Staff will bring your order to your table. I failed to mention their selection of desserts and gelato. Not all cakes are available daily since the students learn to bake specific cakes as part of the curriculum. They make a flourless chocolate cake, which is amazing. Their days of operation follow the schedule of Suffolk County Community College.

You all don't know how good you have it in Riverhead having a bakery like this in a grocery store…read more I always stop here on my way to the Orient Point ferry to return to New England. All of my friends are obsessed with Long Island crumb cake. Maybe New Englanders are more health obsessed but you can:t get coffee cake with a full inch of sugar and butter on top outside of New York. Yes ... the store itself isn't great for everyday grocery shopping. It's somewhere between an Aldi and a Stop N Shop. It's located in a empty mall and almost looks closed it's set so far back from the road. It's probably better from a tourist perspective than an everyday grocery shopping perspective as there are a lot of New Yawk style items we can't get ... proper hot dog relish ... crumb cake ... black and white cookies ... local beers, etc. However, prices seem pretty low and for the bakery alone, I'd go here over corporate Stop N Shop any day. Everything in Shop Rite seems more 'local' focused because they are a NY only chain ... vs. Stop and Shop, which are all over the East Coast. The inside feels a bit more 'industrial' with harsh flourescent lighting which makes it feel more like a garage than a grocery store. Somehow the interior manages to be dreary and dark and harshly lit at the same time. Overall though, am I choosing this over Wegmans? No. But over the chain grocery stores, I'm going here all day. For those passing through Riverhead, grab some coffee cake on your way home. It's better than what you'd get at most bakeries ... either the store brand or the other two brands from Brooklyn, which are only like a buck more.

I prefer Shop Rite over Stop n' Shop, and I enjoy the Riverhead location best. Customer service is…read morevery helpful, patient and courteous. Cashiers are a mighty bunch, as their friendliness and patience is notable. Security staff are spot on. The individual departments' managers and staff, e.g. Scanning, Produce, Bakery, Deli, Health & Beauty, Seafood, Meat, Frozen, Dairy, et al are professional, courteous and helpful. The layout of the store is bright and organized. My only complaint is the ventilation system which is in dire need of inspection for the health of employees and shoppers.

I grabbed my drink here on a recent visit home and immediately wished they were way more west on the island. I swear I'd go every time I'm in town! Hampton Coffee Company is one of those local favorites with spots sprinkled across the East End, from Hampton Bays and Water Mill to Westhampton Beach and Center Moriches, and every location feels cozy and welcoming. They roast their own small-batch coffee and have a huge range of drink options beyond just your basic cup of joe. You've got your hot espresso bar classics, iced espresso drinks, flavored lattes, cold brews and shaken drinks, refreshers, smoothies, teas, and even seasonal features like holiday specials. I ordered the holiday cookie latte iced, and it was so fun for the season! It was sweet, cozy, and totally delicious with that festive vibe you want this time of year. There's a whole holiday lineup at many locations if you're feeling festive. On top of drinks, they have bakery items, bagels, breakfast sandwiches, paninis, wraps, and more if you're hungry. It's the kind of place where you could stop for a quick caffeine fix or hang out with a friend and grab breakfast or lunch too. Whether you're cruising out east or just need a local coffee stop with personality, Hampton Coffee Company hits the spot. Friendly staff, fun seasonal drinks, and a really inviting vibe. Just please bring a location closer to the west end of Long Island so I can make this my daily coffee run when I visit!!
