Cleanliness is fine, and toppings were well-stocked, with plenty of choices. About 10 handles functioning for our visit, with a couple of the remaining six missing "Out of Order" signs. Without those a cup partially filled with one flavor gets a surprising thin liquid flow on it and a puddle around it from the missing-a-warning-sign dispenser. The receipt on the bag had our correct order, the correct name and everything but all the toppings are not what we wanted. I used to LOVE this place. I haven't been in years so stopped in tonight and was beyond disappointed (and disgusted). 1/4 of the flavors were out of order. I got my yogurt and a fruit fly flew into my dish. I threw it out and tried again- moved to the toppings section. The entire area was dirty (along with the checkout counter) and there were fruit flies everywhere- flying and in the toppings. Needless to say I lost my appetite. The improvement for this location would be cleanliness and turning the machines on well before opening at noon, there were a few sorbets that were still liquid. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to FroYo. Stop laughing, I am. Give me a plain yogurt that's nice and tart and some fresh berries and I'm a happy man. 16 Handles in Glenmont goes a step further with some soft mochi to add another texture and a layer of complexity. The shop is clean. The staff are friendly. I even saw kids in there having a good time. Sure, there are other flavors. They have a line of artisan flavors, and I really should remember what those are all about, but I've already forgotten. It doesn't matter anyway. The thing to get is a bracing combination of tart and fruit. Otherwise you might as well be eating ice cream. The spoons aren't half bad either. Oh. And for some reason, even though it was the dead of winter and snow was on the ground, the fireplace wasn't lit. Sniff. That would have made it extra cozy. This place rocks what I've come to know and (sometimes) love as "chain" fro-yo chic. Let's face it, when you go to one of these you're there for the blaring pop tunes and the seizure inducing neon-ness of it all. This particular location does not disappoint with respect these basic elements of the fro-yo chains and has a few bonuses that add character. They boast a nice outdoor patio (only 2 tables, but it's better than none) for those summer fro-yo runs as well as a cozy fireplace sitting room for those winter fro-to cravings. The staff was as bright and friendly as the neon-everything! The girl that rang me up immediately asked if I had a rewards card, expeditiously got me one when I didn't- and proceeded to explain how I could get 25 bonus pts. I love it when places actually encourage and make it easy for you to use their rewards programs. The store was hoppin' for a weeknight (probably since it's summer). In true serve yourself fro-yo tradition, I enjoyed about 1/4 of their 16 handles and tried the cake batter, salted caramel, peanut butter, cookie dough(?), coffee and cheesecake flavors (hey, why else would there be so many flavors?). The stand-outs were the cake batter, peanut butter and salted caramel, with cheesecake and cookie dough not far behind. For some reason, I just can't bring myself to enjoy coffee flavored fro-yo/ice cream anything as much as the real thing. The toppings are pretty standard but all good. This may not be a local, small business, unique sort of fro-yo experience, but it's convenient and offers a good product. read more

On a freezing cold day my younger daughter wanted frozen yogurt. So, Mommy had to deliver so 16 Handles it was. Its really nice inside, service was great. Now there are so many selections to choose from so many toppings and they are fresh. My daughter had a mix of vanilla and I'm unsure of the other flavor but she enjoyed it. When it comes to frozen yogurt, I tend to prefer tart and fruity to rich and decadent. If you disagree, join me at 16 Handles. There's plenty for both of us. When we entered, we were greeted by a really enthusiastic staffer, who walked me through four or so flavors. While I liked the green tea and vanilla, it was a bit too sweet for my tastes. I ended up choosing a blend of the Euro Tart and mango, topped with the mango popping thingies (no idea what they're called) and some mochi. God, I love mochi. It was perfectly tart and very, very good. I only wish they had some lychee... (The spoons were of the perfect depth, too!) Luckily, they also had cookies and cream - my wife's favorite! 10/10 Ice cream and general environment but the manager came in the room while I was on a date, we were sitting in the lounge and she started complaining about how hard her day was, she also said she couldn't stand the other children who do nothing but whine... I loved eating the fro yo but the complaints from the Manager working there made the entire experience unenjoyable. It was a white girl with white hair and white adidas shoes. Very disappointed with the professionalism of 16 handles was going to recommend to a friend, but sweet frogs employees are more professional and I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

Wow! What a great place for a break! I like the cool decor and the spaciousness of this frozen yogurt place. I had a few taste tests before deciding on a mixture of tiramisu and salted caramel - yum. The service was friendly and helpful, but not pushy, and I was well attended even though I was by myself. Before I left, I enjoyed a few minutes by the fire, then grabbed some orange sorbet to bring home. The flavors are all just delicious. Lucky Glenmont to have their very own really nice 16 Handles! I could not pin down what is my favorite there are too many. The toppings are great -always a great variety of fresh and healthy and just fun toppings. I will never step foot in this place again. I agree with the reviewer who said it is not kid friendly. I have two children that are well behaved in public. They have been trained since they were little to use inside voices at restaurants and once we are at a table they are expected to stay there. We have never let them wander around even when they were toddlers. They are much older now. When we went here they got their frozen yogurt and sat down at a table and talked quietly with their cousins. But the entire time we were there we were followed and watched like we were criminals. I actually left with a tension headache. So if you have kids I would avoid this place or take your frozen yogurt to go. read more

Our favorite place to go in the Glenmont area. Clean, great yogurt, and fresh toppings. The customer service is always pleasant. Victoria is upbeat, patient, and always excited to show us what she has. It is a nice place to sit down with a family and there is plenty of room for strollers and wheelchairs. read more

This place is super duper scooper clean! The staff is friendly and helpful but not pushy in the least. In my experience coming here, they seem to try to discern if someone is new; but if you don't know the ropes and no one has approached you, all one must do is ask and they are always happy to explain how it works and offer free tastings. The atmosphere is colorful, fun and there is ample space. Last weekend I went to a competing fro-yo place in a nearby town and it was cramped, with one of the available toppings clearly hard, stale and completely inedible. I can't imagine the Glenmont 16 Handles keeping out hard-as-rock Mochi. From observing, I get the sense that the manager here could be one who runs a tight ship with the employees, but if it leads to fresh product and a clean store, then from a consumer's viewpoint, I'm happy! read more

The manager here is a young woman that is usually working the afternoons I come in with my little 2 year old. She is the most cheerful, pleasant and helpful individual I've ever encountered. Always so friendly with my son and super eager to help out. I wish she worked everywhere. Not children-friendly which is too bad because my family love frozen yogurt. I believe the older woman there owns the place but every time we go, this woman follows my kids - wipes down the windows right after they touch it. She tells them to quiet down even though there are but 2 other people around. My children are young - and if there is no one around I let my 3 yo push the little stools close together.
