Small strawberry and chocolate soft serve ($3.05 with tax)
Kathleen S.

We stopped by Lickety Split for our last dose of soft serve before leaving the CNY area. It did not disappoint. We ordered a small soft serve ($2.85) with two flavors--chocolate and strawberry. Since they were not able to combine the two flavors in a twist, the two flavors were filled side-by-side in a cup. Creamy and rich, but not too sweet, they were a great combination and highly satisfying. The amount was generous, making it terrific value. Lickety Split offers 24 flavors including the basics of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry, though the other flavors cost a little more ($4.10 for a medium, compared to $3.50 for a medium with a basic flavor). Should we be back in the area, I would be keen on trying some of the other fun flavors, which include cherry jubilee, blue moon, watermelon, amaretto, chocolate hazelnut, and cotton candy. The ice cream shop, which operates just a storefront where people order from outside, does offer limited benches and tables in front of it, though we saw many people happily enjoying their ice creams in their cars in the parking lot. Only cash is accepted; there is an ATM next to the storefront.

Chilly night but everyone is always in the mood for ice cream. It was quite delicious and creamy!!!

We went and got ice cream... we got a twist cone, peanut butter flavor twist with peanut butter hard shell in a dish Oreo flurry, and vanilla ice cream with butterscotch topping. The ice cream was very creamy in consistency. We all enjoyed the soft serve ice cream which was thick and very flavorful. The little one had a great time dancing around while we were waiting in line dancing to the tunes they had playing on the speakers.

Chocolate and vanilla twist kiddie cones dipped in birthday cake

They literally have the best ice cream in the capital region. They offer over 20 flavors of soft served ice cream. My favorite is the raspberry soft served. I also like getting the kiddie cones dipped in their hard shell chocolate. They have cake batter and chocolate flavor dips which are both so good

Very delicious ice cream. I got vanilla with a chocolate dip in a kiddie cone which was a perfect size if you just want a little bit of a scrumptious late night dessert

The sprinkles cup...

They only take cash but there's an ATM there. Amazing ice cream. Sometimes long lines but 10/10 worth it.

We were all unimpressed with our ice cream. Would rather visit the other ice cream stands in the capital region and leave satisfied!

The general problem is that this place has poor customer service and I don't like sitting on a bunch along a main road eating ice cream.

Chez Mike - Delicious bread served with calamata olive butter.

Chez Mike

(211 reviews)

$$

Thirteen years is a long time to have been away from Chez Mike. We've mentioned it multiple times…read moreover those years as a possible dinner location but somehow always ended up someplace else. Gathering with friends on this occasion seemed to be the trick. The restaurant was reasonably busy when we arrived at 5:15 on a Tuesday and all of the unoccupied booths already had reserved signs on them. When we left at 8 p.m. it was still almost full of customers. We sat at the bar with a Chatham Helles Lager ($7) and a refreshing Mocktail ($5) made with cucumber and mint while we waited for our dining companions. Upon seating our party of four into one of those reserved booths, my wife and I started with the Seared Halloumi Cheese ($13) as a shared appetizer. This dish was so attractive and appealing looking that our dining companions also ordered it after we were almost finished with our serving. Maybe our raving about the wonderful flavor of the cheese, the beautiful sear markings, the refreshing aspect of the watermelon pieces, the texture contrast of the pistachios, and the flavor of the honey-sherry vinaigrette also had something to do with their decision. For her entrée, my wife ordered one of the daily specials, Pan Roasted Cod ($35). Served with steamed rice, braised Swiss chard, sweet potato, and a slightly spicy "Holy Trinity" creole sauce, she was very pleased with the dish. My taste of it echoed her sentiment. As I've written previously, I don't get to enjoy lamb at home so I will frequently order it when it's available while dining out. Therefore, the Lamb Feta Burger ($23) had my attention. It was served on a toasted baguette (the same that is served as the delicious bread for the table with calamata olive butter), with caramelized onions, arugula, garlic aioli, and French fries. The lamb was fresh, moist, very mild in flavor, but with only a slight noticeability of the feta cheese. It was delicious! The French fries were served perfectly, hot and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Cups of coffee after dinner were rich and full flavored. Finally, the cubes of brown sugar that I was so pleased to see served thirteen years ago are still being served. Hurrah! Service was friendly and welcoming.

Went Friday before Valentine's Day . Restaurant was busy but not full. Our server was excellent…read morealthough service was slow. Food - not good! Calamari was tough difficult to chew. Sent it back and was taken off bill. My wife had pork dish. Breading was tasteless and pork was tough. We both tried it. Waitress took that back and reviewed menu to recommend an alternative. Butternut squash soup was my wife's preference which was good. I had calves liver which was excellent. We were not charged for soup but the pork dish was left on bill.none of this was the fault of our server and that was reflected in the tip. First experience here probably not go back
