I don't have a strong stomach... so I am careful when it comes to how people handle the food making process. Was originally going for a waffle bowl with ice cream... BUT watching that guy shape and roll the waffle with his bare hands... I could not do it. Ick. We came to get ice cream after dinner and just ended up getting ice cream in a cup for my kids... bc their stomach can handle anything. lol ahhh to be young. It's Ben & Jerry, nothing fancy. $15 for 2 small cup... seems like inflation hit everyone and everything. Eat at your own toilet risk. read more

Such friendly staff!! Perfect location for getting ice cream and walking around the park! Or dessert after dinner on Lark :)

The epitome of hypocrisy. Masks must be worn upon entry. Once inside, the employees make your order without gloves or any handsanitizing/ washing whatsoever. All while also handling money. Don't believe me? Go in for a cold treat!! read more

love the dairy free options!! The guy here is also always kind and efficient. I will def be here again this summer

This is one of the best milkshakes I've ever had in my life. The two girls working there were super nice too. I was thinking about getting a second one right after I finished the first one but I'm trying to get in shape for Halloween. read more

Ben & Jerry’s - Ice Cream & Frozen Yogurt Near Me - Albany, New York

I feel ridiculous even writing this, but it has bothered me so much. I order a cone with 2 different scoops of ice cream. My fault for not realizing that I needed to specify for a waffle cone, that's on me. But to put two giant scoops of ice cream on a regular cone is crazy to me. Sure, I appreciate the amount of ice cream, but I had to scarf it down before it melted all over my hand. Between the cost and my chronic ice cream addiction, I wasn't letting the dessert go to waste. The stomach ache was brutal; the overall experience was not fun. read more

It's Ben & Jerry's! I fell in love with Chunky Monkey in 1989. Used to eat a pint all in a go. I'd wear a single ski glove to hold the pint so that it wouldn't melt as I worked my way through it. But that's TMI and I digress. So I might have been smack in the middle of taking this place for granted, but I went vegan 16 years ago and was forced to patiently wait for them to catch on. Patience rewarded, as I am now delighted by all four non-dairy flavors. They had one non-dairy flavor on the menu when I showed up today, peanut butter and cookies, so I was able to walk in and get a cone like it was no big thang. Same delicious flavor I enjoyed in the pint at home. The space is nice and service is prompt. So now you can go to Berben & Wolff's for a sandwich, stroll over to Stack's for an espresso and then end up at Ben & Jerry's for a cone. Three vegan delights on one street. What is this place, little Portland? Whatever. I'm enjoying it. read more

This is an average of the 1 Star Shake I had and the 5 Star IceCream cone my daughter had. Don't get a shake here. It was flavored milk. Used way too much milk and not enough ice cream. Please train!!!! read more

Tasty, nice staff, and I love that they have wooden spoons instead of plastic! Ben and Jerry's is a bit more expensive for an ice cream shop, no matter where you go this seems to be true. But it's worth it! Also it seems dog friendly and they have a loooot of flavors. More flavors than the B&J's scoops shops I've been to elsewhere read more

Ordered for delivery to the hotel I was staying at. The ice-cream was great, but they didn't give us spoons which was super annoying.

They finally moved this place off Lark Street and the new location is much nicer although a bit smaller. There is now outdoor seating so you can people watch. The ice cream is Ben & Jerry's so it is artery clogging delicious and the servers in the store were super friendly. read more

Good things come in small packages, and that is, indeed, the case for Ben and Jerry's new location on Madison Avenue. After the closing of Ben and Jerry's on Lark Street, I eagerly anticipated news of its reopening. Now located just next door to El Loco, in the former home of the Little Moon gift shop, the new location is far smaller than its predecessor. There are just two small tables inside and a couple outside. Perhaps as they get settled, they'll come up with some creative seating options -- bar and stool seating in front of the window might be a good way to squeeze in a few more spots (like at Stacks). The prices are, well, pricy, but I expect that with Ben and Jerry's -- especially because it's the only ice cream joint in Center Square. Two small ice creams (remember: small is two scoops!) cost just under $10, but I think it's worth it! The scoops were of a generous size. They also have non dairy options (almond milk based) but when I was there, they were nearly out (quite popular!). Dogs are welcome here, and you can get a free scoop for your pup, which I think is great. (I got to watch an adorable pup scarf down a scoop of vanilla ice cream as quickly as he could which was so adorable, because he kept forgetting that it was too cold and, so, would drop the scoop onto the floor, bite it, and so on). Small space or no, ice cream is ice cream, and I'll eat Ben and Jerry's ice cream in a box, with a fox, here and there, I'll eat Ben and Jerry's anywhere. Don't forget to go for your free scoop or cone on your birthday! read more

Good ice cream, just wish they kept the peanut butter and cookies flavor, the non dairy version sucks. Please make your ice cream reasonably priced. Not impressed. read more

Love the new location. Current favorite flavors are Brown Butter Bourbon and Nutty Hubby. Yum!

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! On a tour of Albany with my two special needs children we decided to stop here at Ben and Jerry's for a quick ice cream (our first Ben and Jerry's visit) the young guy at the counter had a serious nasty attitude problem! My child was standing close to the counter in such excitement to get her ice cream, when the worker waved his hand in my childs face in an aggressive loud tone "CAN YOU BACK UP MOVE AWAY FROM OVER HERE" my childs smile quickly turned into a sad disappointed look as she tugged on me signaling she wanted to leave. I tried to normalize things grabbed our order and had the children go sit at the outdoor seating while I finished purchasing our ice cream. I Should've just walked out! So our total for 3 kids size cones and one regular scoop came out to $18.65! I then went out in Hope's to snap some pictures as this was our first Ben and Jerry's visit, the same nasty attitude guy at the counter came over and once again in an aggressive tone shouted "I NEED THE TABLES" at that point we were near in tears at how rude this worker was and our experience was RUINED! If this is what Ben and Jerry's is about then I will never step foot in another one of their stores! HORRIBLE EMPLOYEE OVER PRICED ICE CREAM , OUR EXPERIENCE RUINED! read more

This is my second time here. The first time was much better. Like another person reviewed, the younger guy that works here was really nice. The younger girl, however, was curt, disinterested and generally out of it.. The second she finished ringing us out, she resumed talking on her cellphone. The place was dead, and tables were filthy on this Tuesday night.. The hot fudge on my boyfriend's $7 hot fudge Sunday wasn't even warm, much less hot, to the point that he threw it out after a few bites.. We probably would've said something if we thought that the girl would have done anything other than stare blankly at us without responding. Five stars for my first experience, one star for tonight's experience.. I'm not saying I won't be back, but if I were to stop in again and she was the only person working, I'd walk out and find some place different. Management, please take note.. read more
