This is one of the best milkshakes I've ever had in my life. The two girls working there were super nice too. I was thinking about getting a second one right after I finished the first one but I'm trying to get in shape for Halloween.

Peanut butter and cookies, almond milk style!

It's Ben & Jerry's! I fell in love with Chunky Monkey in 1989. Used to eat a pint all in a go. I'd wear a single ski glove to hold the pint so that it wouldn't melt as I worked my way through it. But that's TMI and I digress. So I might have been smack in the middle of taking this place for granted, but I went vegan 16 years ago and was forced to patiently wait for them to catch on. Patience rewarded, as I am now delighted by all four non-dairy flavors. They had one non-dairy flavor on the menu when I showed up today, peanut butter and cookies, so I was able to walk in and get a cone like it was no big thang. Same delicious flavor I enjoyed in the pint at home. The space is nice and service is prompt. So now you can go to Berben & Wolff's for a sandwich, stroll over to Stack's for an espresso and then end up at Ben & Jerry's for a cone. Three vegan delights on one street. What is this place, little Portland? Whatever. I'm enjoying it.

Dis is my friends Ruth Bader Ginspug and me waiting for ice screams outsides.

Ordered for delivery to the hotel I was staying at. The ice-cream was great, but they didn't give us spoons which was super annoying.

Daisie's has grown. I was the first to write a Yelp review for this business more than 2 years ago…read morewhen it was solely a bakery featuring Daisie's awesome tres leches (3 dairy) cakes. Months later, Daisie began offering occasional meals. I know that it has become a full fledged eatery. What a nice menu! It wasn't very busy when my friend and I stopped in for an early dinner just before 5pm. The business is still very cute and clean. Daisie has added a lot of Mexican candy and snacks to her inventory. We came primarily for tacos. My friend had chicken tacos. I had chorizo tacos. They were on small soft corn tortillas and were as delicious as they were authentic. I also had an order of flautas. They were three crispy rolled tortillas filled with shredded chicken and topped with shredded lettuce, cheese and sour cream. They were good, too. So was the slice of tres leches which we shared. Daisie wasn't in but there was a very friendly and efficient young woman behind the counter who took our orders and served the meals. The dishes came out of the kitchen in a timely manner. It appeared to be well run whatever hiccups previously existed were gone. We enjoyed the meal and stayed so long that we almost ran late to catch a show. I left in such a hurry that I forgot my bag on a seat. I didn't get very far before I noticed my mistake. I called ahead and when I returned, the young woman welcomed me. There were no customers at the time, but she put my bag behind the counter for safe keeping which was reassuring. I was so grateful and she was so gracious, I insisted on giving her a second tip / reward as a gesture of appreciation. It was a great experience all around and I look forward to returning to eat my way through the menu. Thanks so much.

They close at 7pm on weeknights, which is great. I love how beautiful the cafe is. There are tons of tables and good wifi too. I ordered an iced mocha, which was great, and the barista was helpful and friendly. I do wish they had a specialty coffee latte and some more dessert options. There were several savory pastries available when I went and I was having a major sweet tooth moment but thankfully the iced mocha hit the spot!

Among the more recent arrivals is Java Cafe on Madison Ave. It offers a nice variety of coffees, teas, other beverages and baked goods, all in a relaxing setting. What's more, they tell me that small dogs are welcome. I stopped in recently after taking a stroll in the park with my West Highland Terrier. I was surprised when they told me that my little dog could come in, too. I ordered the most wonderful hot chai latte with coconut milk and a dash of cinnamon. Since I was staying, it was served up in a stoneware cup with saucer. I also ordered a potato borek, which they explained was a small Turkish-style mashed potato pie. It was good. My friend ordered a delicious large house coffee with cream. The cafe is small but inviting with exposed brick walls. There's nice furniture and interesting wall art, including a banjo hung from one wall. But my favorite is the amoeba-shaped full length mirror with the words,"You look amazing," painted above it. How's that for giving customers encouragement? My little dog stood under our table and smiled. She was well behaved. There were several other customers but most of them looked lost- in -concentration over their laptops. It was a delicious and very calming experience for us after a nice walk in the park. Thanks, Java Cafe.

The owner is great and the woman that is sometimes there is a peach. These are quality rolls made from scratch by a pack of rowdy and funny bakers in the back. It's a little bit bakery, little bit hangout. The Prinzo bakery has really squirrelly hours: they are open in the A.M. until like 11 - then they take a long and possibly well-deserved 'bakers-siesta' until about 2 or three. In the hours in between, some bakers are there but the front door is locked: it's a real local shop, so to speak! It's creamy with the peanut butter flavor but not overwhelming. The cone does seem to be a little small for all that ice cream, so don't dilly-dally too much eating it in warm weather.
