First time here and it was a pretty cool place, nice and big inside with lots of tables and a dance floor kinda on the smaller side but still fun if it gets packed it would make it hard to dance. My friends and I came out this Wednesday evening (3/11/26) for some drinks. We were outside for a little bit and then we came inside to the first bar. We sat at the bar for 30min, and no bartender acknowledged us. We were there for an entire 1.5hrs and not one bartender came to serve us. There was this female bartender servicing everyone- every male that came up- except my friends and I. She totally ignored us. We flagged her and Probably looked at us and said "nope! Not serving them". We asked her if she could help us. She asked if we had an open tab. We said we didn't, it was closed, and she basically told us "I can't help you, Good luck finding another bartender". Hold on. Excuse me? We only had TWO drinks outside and then got cut off right away without any questions asked? I've never felt so under appreciated and humiliated in my life. I was LIVID. If there was an issue or concern. She easily could have explained it to us. It's that simple. There was literally NO reason not to serve us for the 1.5hrs we were there. We then asked for the manager and were told the manager was not in the house. We were hoping we could see if he/she could help us. Nonetheless, on our way out, unbeknownst to us, the manager comes out to speak to us out of nowhere, while we were told he wasn't there. interesting. The conversation was not what I hoped for. Michael, the manager, was more concerned about not being able to remove a review that was just posted. Well, these reviews are written for a reason- it's our POV. We deserve to be here just like any other person. He was rude, insensitive, basically saying I'm not entitled to be serviced and could be"cut off" any time without even doing the investigation- if we had enough drinks, too many drinks, etc. we weren't even served once. So how do you figure that one out?. Michael was just apprehending us as opposed to solving the problem and doing service recovery as one of my friend's was crying for feeling utterly humiliated and disregarded. Michael, we deserve to be served. This business is based on customer service so speak with that appointed female bartender who failed to acknowledge us and fix her attitude before your business (and job position) begins to cripple. Hey y'all -- love coming to this spot. Great drinks, good folks, and always a fun time. Just wanted to throw out a quick idea that might make things even better. Right now, the dart boards are up front near the busiest part of the bar and right by the main entrance and patio. It gets kinda hectic over there, and trying to play darts while folks are constantly walking through ain't exactly ideal. You end up dodging people more than hitting bullseyes. There's a solid little area in the back, across from the slot machines, that doesn't get much action. It's got room, looks like it's got power, and would be perfect for moving the dart boards. Heck, you could probably fit a couple more back there too. It'd give dart players some breathing room and keep the front area flowing better for everyone else. I have been coming here for years- mainly with coworkers due to the location and lack of other options. I went this Saturday with a group of 4 and we won't be back. They charged a $5 cover per person and we had to sit outside due to the lack of options. The band was nobody we have ever heard of. Honestly, we preferred it when the band was on a break because at least then we had music from a station playing through the patio speakers. We could hear the noise of the live music but that's it. They sometimes have the window between the bar and patio open but not last Saturday. It was in the low 50's. A male employee was nice enough try to turn on a heater for us but it was out of propane. We went to buy our first round where they had plenty of bartenders. Most leaning around with their arms crossed looking unapproachable and unhappy to even be there. We were then told we could ONLY order drinks from the bartender we started a tab with. WHAT? That is ridiculous. Why should we have to wait for 1 bartender when someone else may have been available if our 1 bartender wasn't available to help us??? This is an awesome honkytonk to hang out in. They've got a decent sized dancefloor, a TouchTunes jukebox, and live music on weekend evenings. The bands are usually local cover bands, but they cover the Texas regional Red Dirt style music, so I really dig that. They have a full bar with $2.50 wells and domestic beers until 8pm. The only downside is, they don't have any beer on tap. Bottles and cans only. The beer selection isn't huge, but they do carry a few Texas brewed regional beers. Plenty of seating on the inside, and PLENTY of more seating on the outside deck and patio. Sometimes they have food trucks outside, but other times, they only have someone inside the front door selling tacos, and quesadillas, etc. The soap dispenser in the bathroom doesn't work, so you have to scoop your hand into it to get soap - um, no thanks. But that's really the only issue I had - I'm adding this place to my "keepers" list. It was fun hanging out here! read more

Well it's been a long time i haven't been here. I would like to say the improvements are very nice. The music was good crowds a little loud but we expected that at a bar lol the beer was cold. They have happy hour and their was a band setting up. I gave a 3 star only because the fact of the matter is it's Friday happy hour and you go to the restroom and only one restroom stall has toilet paper and only enough for like a few women. What a great local bar. We went with about 11 people from out of town on a recommendation from a local. They have darts, bags and pool tables. The bar staff was was so friendly and told us how to use each one. Our party had age groups from 35-65 and everyone had a good time. It was karaoke night and the 4 that we watched were very good. Mostly country but some R&B got the crowd jumping with cheers. I wish we could have stayed longer, if you are in San Antonio and like a good time it is worth an Uber ride. Why not 5 stars- have to go to the bar for service and they are great but should have someone do table service as well. read more

They have pretty good music playing inside , they also have an outside area in which they play different music (generally , not nearly as good as the inside). They have a standard bar , nothing special. Although I do have to note that every single bartender I've encountered while hanging out here is incredibly nice and efficient. Had a trouble time due to the bartending staff, they served others while we waited for minutes. I think money is equal to all. The bartenders seemed we were at his mercy and felt be little by not one but all of them. We spent over 100.00 dollars on two hours and tipped thirty to forty and still felt as we were not welcome with horrible attitude. He slammed my change on the bar like I didn't matter. We (25 of us) will let others know this place is not a welcoming saloon. Well it's been almost three years since I entered this over populated saloon. I haven't had alcohol since I was here in 2017. Friend had a party last week and I saw the frustration in her when the bartenders ignored her. Again these bartenders feel they have the power to serve only who the feel they want. Poor sad bartenders, no future in that. Three years and they still stink in service. Well I know this is the last time I will ever go to this saloon. This is the place to come to if you are looking for a good ol' fashion place to strap your boots on and come two stepping. 151 Saloon is a huge venue with plenty of dancing room for everybody. What I love about this place is how much they love Texas Country while paying respects to Country Music altogether. If you're not about two stepping no worries here. They always make it a point to play difference genres as well so everyone has a chance to enjoy themselves. The drinks here are really great priced and super quick service. We've been going to 151 for years and tonight, my husband (an essential hospital employee) and I along with my nurse friends, were kicked out because some random girl saw my husband sneeze and reported it to the bouncer. He has no fever or any other covid symptom yet the uneducated bouncer who was pretending to be educated on the frontline procedures took their word over ours for some odd reason. If you're going to "kick people out," know why and exactly what you're talking about so you don't sound dumb and kick out essential workers who have been fighting on the frontline while you sit at home collecting your check. Getting to 151 around 8:30 on a Friday, the place was a little dead. Additionally, the female bartender was seriously unexperienced and we waited about 10 minutes for our drinks. That being said, a manager helped us and even comped us our shots! -all is forgiven So we hung out for a little while, expecting to leave an find a more exciting crowd. That said, by 10 the place was packed! The band was fantastic, but that's me - I love country music They did play the typical line dances, and then they switched over to more pop/hip/dance music as the night went on. March 5, 2022 at approximately 12:30am my sons were assaulted outside by their staff. They broke my son's nose and knocked him unconscious. They put his hands behind his back, picked him up and threw him on the concrete floor face first and rendered him unconscious. He was bleeding profusely. I thought he was dead. The other son was trying to video the situation and they threw him on the floor and took his phone. He has bruised ribs and bruises all over his body. I have frequented this establishment many times over the years. I am very disappointed in managements lack of caring for customers. I needed to use the restroom towards the end of the night (I had only been there for 1 hour) . I needed to use the restroom very badly. I do not have a gallbladder and cannot hold it for long. I was denied access to the restroom and told it was announced. I never heard this announcement and none the less could not hold it. I had to get my Uber to stop on the side of the road. I was crying the entire time. It was very embarrassing. This should not happen. It is discrimination against women who cannot use the restroom in public at will. I didn't have anyone to dance with so I was dancing by myself. They kicked me out because of that. Don't show up if you don't have a dance partner or they'll kick you out thinking you're drunk. I closed out my tab and tipped my bartender well because it wasn't her fault. I wasn't disruptive or loud I was just by myself with a friend. Their 'security' needs a training overhaul. So don't dance by yourself by your table for a split second. Better yet, don't bring your business here. You won't regret it. Edit: If they really thought I was drunk and disruptive, they wouldn't let me get in my truck and drive away right in front of them (which I think would be a liability for them). So bad news if someone was really drunk and disorderly. They need training just for that itself. But I digress, I was calm and collective when I was inquiring on why I was being 'kicked out' and what the 'security' personnel told me was 'we told you not to bring any drinks to the dance floor' which was false. The only time they told me that was when they were 'escorting' me out. I was right next to the table me and my friends were at and I was simply minding my own business. When I was 'escorted' out, I was told I can't close out my tab and that's when I actually got into an argument with the security. Don't mess with my tab and my gratuity. The self appointed security extraordinarie who kicked me out made sure I closed out my tab and let myself walk to my truck and drive away right in front of a police officer. If I was really drunk and disorderly, why would they let me walk to my truck and drive away? My only assumption was that the 'security' personnel knew I really wasn't under the influence of alcohol. Music is your usual country, top 40, 90s cheese. Gets overly crowded and the people are snooty and guys think they're a rough and tough cowboy. Beer is reasonably priced. Good thing about it. Just don't ask for one of their "specialty drinks". Friend and I asked for one and the bartender looks at us and said "what's that?". Checking in on a slow, Monday, karaoke night. I landed here little over an hour before close, so take in my review with a grain of salt for I feel it isn't justified unless I come on their busiest night before I make a full throttle review of the place. I wasn't checked at the door which is a surprise to me but again, why pay for a bouncer when you have only a handful of people to watch over. The high ceilings and big stage definitely adds to the space to where I felt comfortable at the bar. The fact that I wore boots also made me feel comfortable if that tells you more about the appearance of the place. A handful of drinks on the wall with the rest under or behind the counter kept the appearance of the main bar being neat and tidy. No complaints about the bartending, nor the bartender. Be careful what you're charged for. I was there for a birthday celebration. I opened a tab and only ordered once. When I went to close out my tab was way more then I had ordered. I asked the bartender for an itemized bill. There was drinks on there that I had not ordered. The bartenders response was that my friends had ordered under my tab. I told him I had not authorized any other drinks. I asked to speak to the manager who was rude and said I had to pay what was on my tab. Went to 151 Salon with my wife and another couple had a good time had a few drinks, but as we left we were followed by the bouncer who told us he was the bouncer manager and that I could not drive because I was drinking. As not to get into a confrontation with the bouncer because I had already heard how confrontational the bouncer are at 151, I told him fine my wife is driving. The bouncer followed us outside stood at our vehicle blocking us from leaving. SAPD was called and the bouncers were told to move out of the way so we could leave.
