Very unprofessional and lazy staff. The man at the front desk has no personality or customer service skills. I have had a bad experience with him several times and kept going back because I believe in supporting black businesses. This visit, I asked for no fluoride and the hygienist started to put some on. I had to stop her after she already put it on. No apology and no accountability at all. I understand mistakes happen, but at least humble yourself and be accountable for your mistakes. Friends recommended this practice due to its close location and reasonable prices. We've lived in over 12 communities and had over 20 dentists. My husband and I have gone to 1385 Dental Studio for the past two years for both dental work and cleaning. We have found them friendly, prompt, and very reasonably priced besides delivering quality care in a state of the art facility. The staff is unprofessional and they will add on services with out consent so that you pay more. I was looking for a new dentist that was closer to home and I received a post card in the mail for this dentist and decided to try them out. I didn't have any issues setting up my appt. My appt for a cleaning which is covered at 100% with my insurance so I didn't expect to pay anything. When they called me the first young lady taking care of me. Did not introduce herself so I have no idea what her name was or anything else. She just tell me to sit, immediately starts taking images of my teeth and then tells me to go to the panoramic xray. I stand there with little to no instructions she did what she had to do then I went back to the chair. She starts to do my cleaning then in the middle of my cleaning another young lady comes and tell her to go do something else that she will finish my cleaning. The 2nd young lady did speak and introduced herself and explained what she was doing. The doctor came in to do the exam and she was really nice (which is why I gave 1 star), she checked me recommended an electric toothbrush brush and told me I had no cavities. When I finish and go upfront to check out. The man upfront charges me for the panoramic X-ray abd the fluoride they put on my teeth. According to him the panoramic X-ray is only covered every 5 years and I had one 3 yrs ago. He also tells me when do I want to come in to get my two cavities filled after being told by the dentist that I had no cavities. read more

I had my first visit at 1385 Dental Studio a few days ago!! Great experience. I called the week prior to schedule an appointment and was able to get in the next week. Their office is only about 2 miles from my house which is very convenient. They're only open M, W, F. After checking in, the hygienist took me back and we took x-rays. After that, a few more x-rays and mouth scan. The scan was cool because it gave me a 3D image of my teeth so that I could see what the dentist was explaining. All went great with the cleaning - no cavities ; ). The dentist and her staff were great, and I'd definitely recommend them. read more

I called several times to try to schedule an appointment and they don't answer their phone and there is no voicemail, just music. I finally got ahold of someone and received an appointment via text along with new patient forms. After lengthy communications via text, I informed them that I would call the office to speak with someone because texting for business was unprofessional. I then received this message: Hi Diana, We use an all digital platform for communication with our patients which includes texting. This provides ease of use for the patients when we are communicating with them. Our new patient forms and consent forms are sent via text in a fully compliant manner. As requested we will cancel your appointment. Have a great day! -1385 Dental Studio So, I'm not understanding how this is "ease of use" when a string of text messages were generated during a two-hour period of time, no questions were addressed and all things could have been discussed in a 2 minute phone call so that clarity was gained and my time wasn't wasted . Not to mention it's not very convenient when I used my break at work to get the appointment scheduled and two hours later I'm still being inconvenienced by random texts. Maybe it's convenient for them but it certainly wasn't for me. In addition; they couldn't even confirm their location and didn't seem to understand that they were not listed in network with my insurance so I was trying to confirm and they kept saying "we take BCBS". Maybe they aren't aware that there are several different ones, but I suppose they would have been able to give me a logical response if they'd taken a few minutes to have a phone call! I was nervous trying a new dentist but was looking for a closer location. My concern with pain tolerance and anesthesia resistance was comfortably and respectfully addressed. This new location is still working on some kinks with a smooth flow in and out, but not anything unreasonable. After looking for a dentist for 20+ years, I've finally found one that I'm happy with and highly recommend. You're treated like an individual, vs just another patient on their "assembly line". I've been to the office twice (so far) and Dr. Mustafa is truly the best dentist I've ever had. I have *huge* anxiety when it comes to dentists; my blood pressure goes up drastically, the moment I walk in the door. The office is very clean, high tech, & you're able to watch tv during your treatment. Starting with Damien (@ the front desk), everyone is very professional, pleasant, attentive, and reassuring. One of the things I love & appreciate the most about Dr. Mustafa is that she genuinely cares about my oral health; she talked to me about my oral health goals and developed a plan to help me achieve them. I appreciate that Damien reviews all costs (before the treatment) and answers all of my questions. Unlike other dentist offices where I'd find out the cost (with no explanation) *after* treatment was done. They were amazing as always ! The only thing was that Taniyah was not by my side like normally to hold my hand while getting the shot-- but that's fine tho ! Elly was there by my side ! Dr. Mustafa & Damian were informative and then Taniyah was able to give me my extra goodies along with Elly supplying me with my lavender towel for my face.
