The store is packed with any genre of sheet music and books (and TAB form) for every instrument you can imagine (banjo, dulcimer, mandolin, vocals, guitar, piano, brass instruments, woodwinds, etc all of them). They sell accessories such as guitar strings, tuners, straps, picks, music stands, and some acoustic guitars and banjos as well. Vinyl records and small musical gifts line the walls, it's so fun to explore and each time you visit you'll find something new, as there's so much selection. If there is something they don't have in stock, they will order it for you. The vibe is very relaxed and they are never pushy, you can look around for 30 min alone exploring if you want and just ask if you need anything. Love this place and can't recommend it enough, it's also a vintage store with history dating back to the 1950's so it has such cute charm and decor, it's an experience that online shopping can't give. I now purchase all my sheet music and guitar accessories from Central Music, support local!

We had three choices and price points, and I selected the "student" one which was the least expensive, and wow, this instrument sounds so much better and is in great shape! We were in and out of the shop in 20 minutes. The salesperson helping us was knowledgeable and friendly and we were able to find the accessories we needed as well (shoulder rest sponge and rosin). She's been playing it for 3 months with no issues and it doesn't go out of tune quickly like her cheap one. Billing is automatic and easy, with no mistakes. Such a great experience - we'll definitely be back when it's time to upgrade to the next one!

They try to do much in a limited space, and mostly, that works. Their wind and violin/viola/cello/bass/etc space is really nice, and their acoustical guitar and bass sections are strong. The keyboards area is sort of scrunched together but top brands and a bit of variety. I liked their synths, although not a crazy variety. Prices I heard seemed a bit higher, but there is added value here, too. Huge sheet music section. Much wind instrument variety, as well as mouthpieces, reeds/ligatures/etc. It has the widest and broadest inventory I've seen in Arizona. Worth a visit; musicians will appreciate the variety.

Probably because he was getting paid x dollars an hour either way. Meeting and having work done by Ted was exactly the opposite experience. He took the time to explain what he was going to do (or not do if not needed). After it was done he explained what my guitar could still use, and what I personally could do with brief instructions on how to do it... I can promise you the guitar center tech guys wont tell you how to save money like that. Hell, they were trying to convince me that nylon strings were too hard for me to string up lol. (true story) I could go on and on, I brought in a dirty guitar that had been sitting in a closet for years, and picked up a nice shiny guitar even after I told him not to worry about cleaning it up. Especially since the job I had him do was so small. If you are looking for somewhere friendly and affordable to have your guitar/bass worked on.... you found it. Everyone I spoke to was really nice, and I was able to get my flute serviced quickly. The instrument repair person is there on Wednesdays and Saturdays. I was able to polish it myself after I got it back with a silver polishing cloth that I had to purchase. They have a huge variety of instruments, accessories, and books! It does seem to be more catered to guitars/percussion, but they still had a decent selection for woodwinds and brass. They also have tons of teachers that do private lessons. I will definitely be returning if I need anymore repairs done, as they did a nice job with those!

After placing my online order, the website had an technical issue and failed to create my order at the physical store level. Not only that, but the order disappeared from my account so the only way for an update on the status was to call customer support. I placed the order on a Wednesday, for the next 2 days after placing the order, customer support told me that the order was looking good and not too worry. After waiting all weekend for some update, I still hadn't received an update on Monday. Luckily one customer support agent caught something weird in my order and noticed my order did not get put through to the store. Shane from this location called me and explained the situation, which surprised me since the customer support agent was supposed to call me back with an update. Within minutes I got an update regarding the label being created. Fast forward to Wednesday (1 week after placing the order) no update regarding the shipment. Shane helped verify that the guitar did indeed get picked up by UPS and was on its way. Later in the day I received a message that the guitar was in my area preparing for transfer. Never did I think that an online order would be so complicated, especially in 2026. I called customer support and spoke with a supervisor to express my frustration throughout my experience, and the supervisor repeatedly tried pinning the blame on the store instead of the faulty outdated website. The employees at this location were very respectful and understanding whenever I called, and helped me at every step of the way.
