The store is packed with any genre of sheet music and books (and TAB form) for every instrument you can imagine (banjo, dulcimer, mandolin, vocals, guitar, piano, brass instruments, woodwinds, etc all of them). They sell accessories such as guitar strings, tuners, straps, picks, music stands, and some acoustic guitars and banjos as well. Vinyl records and small musical gifts line the walls, it's so fun to explore and each time you visit you'll find something new, as there's so much selection. If there is something they don't have in stock, they will order it for you. The vibe is very relaxed and they are never pushy, you can look around for 30 min alone exploring if you want and just ask if you need anything. Love this place and can't recommend it enough, it's also a vintage store with history dating back to the 1950's so it has such cute charm and decor, it's an experience that online shopping can't give. I now purchase all my sheet music and guitar accessories from Central Music, support local!

We had three choices and price points, and I selected the "student" one which was the least expensive, and wow, this instrument sounds so much better and is in great shape! We were in and out of the shop in 20 minutes. The salesperson helping us was knowledgeable and friendly and we were able to find the accessories we needed as well (shoulder rest sponge and rosin). She's been playing it for 3 months with no issues and it doesn't go out of tune quickly like her cheap one. Billing is automatic and easy, with no mistakes. Such a great experience - we'll definitely be back when it's time to upgrade to the next one!

Our two sons have taken music lessons at Phoenix Music Lessons for two years. The amazing part of…read moreworking with these guys has been how they have adapted to meet the new challenges of working in a COVID environment. One boys takes drum lessons, and the other takes Guitar. Both of my boys now conduct their weekly musics lessons online! I'm amazed at how the instructor can use Skype to give coaching with the same level of quality of being there in-person. Truth be told - I think we almost prefer the convenience of the in home lessons. Great job Arik and Kurt - we are happy to support your business. Thanks for all you do for the kids!

TODAY - I am contacted with an explanation that "I honestly thought you were probably a good person but I felt a dislike towards me right away. That energy was truly difficult for me to deal with." His "concerned" response concluded with this: "PS. I once had a doctor do surgery on my knee. I really disliked him (really this guy was a jerk) but I knew he was an expert..... My knee works great again. :)" Since 12/23/2014 (again five months after my initial review) - the Owner has contacted me several times via personal email 3-4 and 1x telephone (actually left a message) - surreptitiously attempting to convince me to edit/delete or otherwise alter my review. I find the Owner's contact inappropriate and borderline harassing. I rejected his offers of a refund as that is not the intent of my review - rather to advise others of my experience. The Owner provided a service- and was compensated for his service. My opinion is this Owner does not take kindly to those with opposing/differing views. Unprofessional and inappropriate boundaries.

Bill is one of those teachers that exudes excitement when sharing his knowledge. Like a kid in a…read morecandy store he is dying for you to get a concept or new skill so that he can move on to teach you the 'good stuff'. When he demonstrates something his mastery of the piano is evident and it allows him to demonstrate why you are learning a technique. We have just started learning pentatonic scales (apparently the backbone of many a bass riff and melody). To show the importance of learning the pentatonic scales he swiftly played 6 or 7 songs I recognized and said 'see! It's everywhere'. Now I am practicing my scales with enthusiasm and building playlists on Spotify with pentatonic based songs so I can listen out for them. It takes great skill to be proficient at the piano. It takes great talent to translate that skill to a new student. Bill has both in great quantities so you should sign up for class

Although I played piano a little when I was a child, I always told myself that "someday I will take…read morelessons again." Well, my "someday" occurred a little over two years ago and I was referred to Bill Keis by a piano tuner who played magnificently. Bill was actually this guy's teacher. (I had previously tried another teacher at a local music store who absolutely frustrated me. That guy was more interested in me listening to how great he played than teaching me. It almost made me quit keyboards altogether.) Fast forward to today. I am now reading music, improvising, playing jazz, blues, a touch of classical, and understanding much more about rhythm, harmony and melody. Bill is an experienced musician who actively plays live gigs, as well as an accomplished and sought-after arranger, composer and recording artist. Chick Correa? Jay Leno Show? Chico? Wow. He is the real deal. I can't recommend him enough as a teacher. I have weekly lessons at his studio, assuming my busy work schedule allows for it. It has proven to be a wonderful outlet for me. In addition, his book, The Complete Guide To Learning Music, is great for beginners, intermediate and advanced musicians as well. He has also authored a bunch of e-books for learning. I was not asked to provide this review, but am doing so in an effort to share my enthusiasm for Bill as a teacher. He is patient and can even work with a stubborn attorney like me!

Guess they still do those in college, who knew?! We parted ways when I received a call from her that it was open to anyone and we could continue catching up... sure I said, as I love exploring random interests. I board the bus with my friend and a group of Sustainability degree seeking students. We soon find ourselves in Glendale, AZ in a very normal neighborhood in front of a very normal, clean, green landscaped house... nothing screamed farm at me and the only reason I knew we were in the correct place (besides the fact the bus stopped here) was a tent which said Urban Farm on the side. He was very into himself and the conversation was more Q and A style than anything else. Great as it involves the crowd however I felt more educational topics could have been covered. It felt at times as though he were speaking down to a group of second graders instead of the college students and adults in front of him. Diverse plants and trees were explored as were different ways to cultivate. Also loved the chickens. An interesting time for those interested in the not so average.

I've become involved in the local fruit tree propagation scene in Phoenix and Greg's Urban Farm had a lot to do with that. Who knew you could grow such a variety of fruit trees in the valley? I've learned so much from him as well as a few other locals. Greg is always willing to dole out advice and IF you follow it, your trees will grow here! He sells only the best rootstock stone fruit and citrus. I've purchased a goji berry, dwarf mullberry, a bare root peach and apricot from him and all are thriving....but you have to follow his guidelines to accommodate for our climate. Because of him, I've been inspired to plant avocado, mango, guava, and starfruit, among many others. He also offers free lectures every so often which is how I got started. Great pop up nursery event. Remember one thing....MULCH!
