I was initially very happy with my experience here but things quickly went sour. The women I dealt with in the shop were WONDERFUL. Very helpful and incredibly pleasant. I spoke to one who taught classes there and she got me excited to better my sewing skills through her various teachings. When I had a question about the functionality of my machine (I'm a beginner), the woman at the register brought out a man from the back to help. He spoke to me in a very condescending tone and made me feel awful with each word out of his mouth. He basically told me my machine was crap, (despite the women telling me it was a perfectly fine starter machine) and then tried to sell me a new one at 3x the price of my current machine. After telling him I didn't have the money to spend on a new machine, he turned even colder, apparently upset by having had his time wasted. When it was finally time to checkout, one of the women returned to help and mid-transaction he returned and stood between the cashier and myself (no more than a foot away from me) and tried to quietly tell the cashier that I didn't know how to even thread my machine, she struggled to hear him and even she seemed to be put off by his behavior at this point. I've always loved fabric and sewing shops because the staff is usually overly friendly and helpful but clearly this is an exception to the rule. I had planned on returning for classes and to eventually upgrade my machine as I'd rather support a local business when possible but now I will gladly get my machine from an online merchant and will find classes elsewhere. The problem here is obviously with the man I encountered and not the rest of the staff but, sadly, he appeared to be the owner or at least a manager. If the women could keep their socially inept boss in the back, I would gladly return. read more

Wow, what a wonderful surprise of a quilting & sewing store! I was looking on the "2016 Row by Row Experience" website, and found this terrific store and I am so glad I visited! Large supply of fabric, sewing & embroidery machines & products, notions, tools and lots of thread. I got to meet the owner in person, and she is very friendly and knowledgeable! Prices were very competitive with online stores, but the owner is the true gem (sorry forgot her name ..... I am so embarrassed). The other employees were also very welcoming. Definitely worth the trip and I am going to enroll in some of her classes. Please support your local small business & visit this shop! read more

Dont go here! Just left the store. Not only were they extremely unhelpful I was shocked by how rude the women was. She acted like she couldnt be bothered talking to me and when I asked a question gave me such an attitude - and then told me to go on youtube and watch videos if i want to learn. And this was all after i had told her i was looking into buying a bigger embroidery machine. Very condescending! No wonder these small stores go out of business. Guess ill be shopping on amazon. read more

DON'T GO HERE. Ridiculously small place, classes are very condescending in nature and some of the workers are simply trying to sell you anything and everything (of course, it's their job!) Still I would take my money where I can actually put it to good use. Not a great selection of fabric, or class environment. read more

I never encountered such a condescending, rude, unfriendly store owner in all my life. I work in retail and know how to deal with people which is why I held my composure when the owner of this store spoke to me as if I was just born yesterday and told her I found my sewing machine on the street the day before. I had a problem that ended up being a simple mistake totally my fault and she proceeded to question me on how long I've been sewing if I knew what was what in my machine and actually told me to take some lessons and to "humor her and let me see how you thread the machine so at least I know you can do that before you leave". I am in no way a professional seamstress but have been sewing for about 7 years and have sewn hundreds of projects. If I did want to take a class to polish my skills it would never be here. She was not only nasty to me but spoke to her employees the same way which is never a good sign. I wanted to check out the fabric selection but after that treatment I packed up my machine, my bleeding lip from holding my tongue and left tout suite. I'll continue to purchase my fabrics online where I get better customer service and common courtesy even through a computer screen. read more
