My wife and I have been here for 2 years now and have loved every bit of it. She works in Manhattan and the train line runs right behind the building. She can get there direct if not having just 1 quick stop. I work in Connecticut so it's easy to get on the Parkway and commute when I need to. The building is kept clean and the staff is very friendly and accessible. The Super lives on site, and you can typically find the maintenance crew during the day. They vacuum and mop the building regularly and do their best to keep the mailroom tidy. So if you like cleanliness there's no disappointment.
We have a bigger 1-bedroom and the unit is designed so nicely that it feels much bigger than the listed square footage. The appliances are nice (gas stove), dishwasher, fridge, and washer/dryer. You can hardly hear the neighbors (maybe some music mid-day) otherwise just some noise from the hallway or barking dogs occasionally. The walk-in closet is huge and the utilities work great.
The mailroom and building are secured by key fob or butterfly security, the fitness center is nice with cardio and free weights, and there's a game/media room to hang out in as well. You have a nice neighborhood to walk on one side of the building, and on the other side you have a grocery store, liquor store, and a ton of restaurants.
The only downsides we've experienced so far (and we're nitpicking) are the sinks are quite shallow, so it's easy to splash water on the counters and the drains seem to clog relatively easily.
There are 7 visitor parking spots and they always seem to be taken. There is temporary street parking and a public garage around the corner. When we moved in (we were the first in our unit) our apartment needed quite some work that took ~1 week but it was all fixed up like new.
We unfortunately are moving away for family reasons but we would love to stay if we could! read more
