When you return the the facilities, they have onsite showers to wash off the stank.

The star of the show here is the cabins, although if we lived within an hour driving distance we…read moremight also periodically visit for the day to swim in the lake. The cabins are one large room with a queen bed and a bunk bed. Apparently there used to be a trundle under the bunk bed but they were removed at some point. The cabins have great working AC - much better than the cabins we have previously stayed in at Inks Lake State Park. There was a record breaking heat wave the weekend we stayed there and the cabin stayed cool. The cabins have a mini fridge (with a tiny freezer section in it), a microwave, and a coffee pot. You will need to supply your own coffee filters and all the bedding, including pillows. The cabins do have a broom and dustpan, as well as a door mat to keep some of the dirt out. There is a table with 4 chairs. The best part of the cabins are the two porches: one screened in and one open. They are LARGE porches, fully covered, and each one has 2 wooden chairs and a small table. Each porch has a ceiling fan, although neither fan spun fast enough to create much airflow. We tried pulling the chain to see if we could get the blades spinning faster without luck. If we were to return in the summer again, I would bring along our own fan. Even in the heat of an August heat wave, it was absolutely glorious to sit out on the porch in the morning with a cup of coffee. The cabins do not have their own bathrooms, but the bathroom nearby is exclusively for the 5 cabins and is cleaned every day. Between the limited use and the frequent cleaning, these were the nicest state park bathrooms we have ever used. Plenty of hot water, and a cold drinking fountain and water bottle filling station outside. The only complaint was that the toilets were INCREDIBLY difficult to flush, to the point where 4 of my 6 kids were physically unable to do it. I walked into the bathroom to find a poop sitting in the toilet multiple times and I have to assume it's because the guest before me was unable to push the button hard enough to get the toilet to flush. The park itself is tiny. There are two main trails; the one around the lake is roughly a mile and the one that leads to the primitive campsites is around 1.5 miles. The trails are pretty rough, with lots of holes, branches, and sandy areas, offering many opportunities for runners to sprain their ankle (which sadly, happened). I would plan on walking (not running) the trails, and even then only if you have strong ankles. The trails are shaded and pretty. I almost ran into a wild hog one morning on the trail out to the primitive campsites. The main attraction of the park is the lake, which is small, but fun for swimmers. There is a swim beach and a floating dock. The sand is soft and you do not need water shoes. The lake is apparently spring fed, but it's been hot enough for long enough with no rain here in Texas that the water was warmer than any spring I've ever felt. Still, on a 110 degree day it sure felt nice to float out there. The water is relatively clear, for a lake. You can fish on the lake and there are kayaks to rent, although they are ridiculously expensive (in my opinion) and have a complicated rental process. Forget the Kayaks... just bring your own inner tubes and float around. If you're looking to camp in the summer without sweating at night and you like to swim, Fort Boggy is a great spot. The cabins are $85 a night plus hotel tax. Calling this a hotel when you have to bring your own linens and there's no bathroom is kind of a stretch, but taxes are taxes I guess. Overall it's a fun weekend in a beautiful cabin by a nice lake. Great family time. I wish all the state parks had cabins this nice!

They stress the great women in history and the impact they made on our lives. They lead your child into coming home full of confidence and pride in the things they accomplished with out your help. My daughter did one week last year but it will be two this year. This camp made a huge impression on her life and I am excited to see how she grows in the next session this summer. I'm so happy that Piper and Popsie (the leaders) have been part of our lives. Some of my favorite stories my girls have shared.... When my youngest daughter went for the first couple years, she had a "big sister" from the 9th grade leadership girls. The big sisters are supposed to grant wishes for the little sisters. Well, my daughter wanted to stop time. So, her "big" got everyone in the camp to agree that if my daughter yelled "Freeze!" in the dining hall, everyone would stop in place for five seconds. It was an empowering moment to know her wish could come true in such a creative way. Another year, my older daughter was struggling with some friendship issues. When the counselors ended up giving her the firelighter award - as someone who represented the spirit of camp - her entire self-perception changed in a very positive way that carried forward out of camp. This year, the middle school girls wrote everything they didn't like about themselves on post its, stuck them on their counselors, then ripped the post-its to shreds... so they knew they could destroy the power those things had over them. On top of all these amazing self-empowerment moments, camp is just fun! My girls come back learning new songs, happy about new friends, and exhausted from having so much activity for two solid weeks. And they even rave about the food. We heart CLC.

I think to ensure everything is in order before you leave. Thankfully the weather cooperated that day. When our group arrived, the young gentleman Tyler checked us in. He informed us on site that while we were able to pre pay for the boat rental, we have to pay insurance and gas after we come back from the boat. He walked us through some general tips of the boat and said to call the office if we have any issues. He said he would help us dock when we got back. You must wear the life vest when near the dock area. We had fun, I think it was a 12 passenger boat. Luckily one of our group members was able to take the brief course to be able to drive the boat. He had no experience previously, but did a great job! We had a pretty good time, we added the lily pad and the tubing to our rental as well, which we used and recommend. The boat itself was new which was nice. It had space under the seats for our items. We were able to bring coolers and our own food on board. Overall it was a fun experience. Everyone on the boat just needs to sign waivers and the persons driving the boat need to watch a couple of boat safety and instructional videos. Lake Conroe is quite a drive from Houston, but getting here and finding the spot was easy. It's just a dirt lot with a shack of an office and a porta potty. Nothing fancy but nothing wrong with that. We showed up 30 minutes before our reservation as requested. Tyler was in charge of our party and he was super friendly and very helpful with getting on board and out on time. Everyone is required to wear a life vest until you hit open water. We rented the 12 passenger pontoon boat which was in very good condition. Our package also included a large lily pad and tube. There's lots of storage under seats which I highly recommend using. We may have overpacked which meant less room to walk around freely. My friend and I shared captaining duties. Driving was a little intimidating at first, but once we got a feel for the power of the motor it was smooth sailing. The map provided to us came in really handy as Lake Conroe is pretty big, bigger than I expected. We made our way to The Island which was a hangout spot for alot of boats and jet skis. We anchored, put out our lily pad and tube and enjoyed the water. The boat does have Bluetooth speakers, but it will run the battery. I would suggest bringing a portable speaker. Time flies when you're having fun, but we made sure we had enough time to drive back while taking turns using the tube. It made for a fun ride back! Overall, a time was had. Never once did I ever think to myself about owning a property on a lake with a boat until now. Thanks to Perfection Water Sports for giving me new goals in life lol. I would totally rent from here again and soon I hope!

My experience at this dealer:…read more 1. Brought in my inboard boat for potential sale. Engine had been sitting over winter. 2. Before starting the engine and before putting the boat in the water, the dealer performed a compression test on the completely cold engine. 3. Reported numbers: one cylinder at 115 PSI, the others at 160 PSI. 4. They then ran the engine approximately 10 minutes. 5. They did not re-test compression warm at any point. 6. They held the boat for two weeks before communicating their conclusion. 7. Their conclusion: the boat has a bad cylinder -- based entirely on a single cold compression test performed before the engine was ever run. Standard marine diagnostic procedure for a compression test is engine at operating temperature, throttle held open. A cold engine that sat all winter will show uneven readings because oil has drained off the cylinder walls and rings and valves do not fully seal until warmed. Without a warm re-test, a cold reading is not a diagnosis. The two-week hold also caused me to miss prime selling window for the season. Context on the boat: used throughout the previous season including pulling tubers. No power loss, no misfires, no smoking, no issues reaching plane. Posting so other sellers know what to ask for and what timeline to expect. Request a warm compression test. Confirm the hold period in writing before leaving your boat.
