Do not use this business - reserved a pontoon for $95 per hour for 2 hours. When receiving the receipt (after the boat rental), we noticed the total was $247 for the rental. When questioned, he said "your husband requested a larger boat" and I said no he did not. His employees sheepishly nodded their head when asked about that. My husband goes back and says that he did not request a larger boat and then he claims "your wife said she wanted that boat (points to a boat)" which I did not. The manager\owner continued to "bully" us as customers and said we accepted the larger boat and he could not refund any money. The boat was great. The staff, not so much. The old man was RUDE. The young girl who took our reservation over the phone apparently wrote down the wrong date, the wrong boat, the wrong email address AND the wrong credit card number. When we returned the boat, we were charged $21 for a rope that got caught in the propeller that probably cost them nothing to replace. I gave 2 stars for the boat condition and the experience with my family, however we will go somewhere else next time we want to rent a boat. read more

If you are looking to do some water-skiing this is not the place to go. Although their website says "ski boat", their most powerful boat would probably be better described as a power or bay boat. It has an outboard motor with only 115 hp and no overhead hooks or racks for ski equipment or tow lines. The outboard motor makes trying to tow anything (including a tube) somewhat cumbersome. None of the employees thought to tell me any of this even after I asked about waterskiing and ski rentals. I didn't think to ask since they specifically advertise "ski boats" on their website. They had the gall to try to blame it on the size of our party (8 people - but among those was one was a small baby, a thin pre-teen and two 120 pound women. None of the men were heavy guys either.). Again, since I called for a reservation of 8 and mentioned renting skis and going skiing, you would have thought someone could have mentioned the issue. A more disgruntled customer might be tempted to pursue a DTPA claim. Nice enough people and boat for a cruise around the lake, but don't fall for the same thing I did if you are looking to do any sort of sporting. read more

Fraudulent business activity. We rented a boat for four hours. The boat was in poor condition with cracked cushions, doors Held together with coat hangers, and A barely functioning radio. While this was disappointing, the worst aspect is that when we returned, the worker claimed we had damaged the propeller and the metal holding the tube. All we did was pull children on the tube in completely open water with an extremely experienced captain. There is literally no way we could have damaged the propeller. Additionally, if the metal holding the tube was bent it was because the tube was not set up properly - all we did was pull our kids at a slow rate of speed. The people running this company are liars and our defrauding customers. We noted that a recent reviewer had the exact same experience. Please avoid this company at all cost!!!!!!! read more

The staff was great! I didn't get to catch the name of the sweet lady that helped us with our pontoon, but I had a great experience with this place! We came on New Year's Day and this seemed to be the only place that was open or it was the only place I could find. I could not have been more satisfied though! Boats were very clean because they were covered before we got on. The pontoons had a maximum limit of 9 people. This will definitely be my go-to place the next time I visit Lake Conroe! read more

My friends and I rented three pontoon boats from Einstein's ship store with around 20 and we couldn't have enough good things to say about our experience. The boats - Very clean and they were brand new. We had no issues with any of the boats. The service and store - The store had almost everything you could need. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. We were even an hour late for our boat rental because of car trouble and they did not charge us for the hour we missed and allowed us to extend our trip an additional hour. The price is very reasonable for the quality of boats you are renting. We were very pleased Highly recommend renting boats from here if you want an easy and pain-free experience. We called this business one week before our arrival to inquire about a reservation and had to leave a message. No one returned our call. When we arrived at Lake Conroe we called again and actually spoke with a young man who stated they did have the electric boats available for $50/hr. No minimum required. He said to come on out and they'd set us up. When we did arrive, we were told that the electric boats were not registered and could not be used today because of the winds. There were no winds, it was very calm. We would never recommend this business to anyone. read more

I rented a pontoon boat from Einstein's Ship Store and it was a great experience! the only thing i regret is not renting it for more time. The boat was practically new, worked great, and served our needs. We cruised around and fished a little. They even gave us 15 min free! Service was nice and staff was courteous. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I booked a boat from them due to 80% thunderstorms all day 05/24 I chose to cancel 2 days in advance! No one told me they keep your $100 deposit, when I requested it back and they state they keep it, I asked why I have not used any of your equipment or gas and gave a big enough notice that if anyone else wants to rent a boat and go in the rain and get electrocuted they have plenty of time to find that person. So the only response I got was that is their policy, which like I told her no one told me this when I booked!! Just like when I booked it and paid she said I will send a confirmation letter by email. I never got one so I called twice to request it got told they would send it and I got nothing even that is too hard to do! She tells me I had to been told of the policy because the girls initialed it, weeeeeell she also told me 3 times she'd email me a confirmation!!!!!!! Some people just are not good at their jobs! Not my problem! So I have signed no contract and I can not find anything on the website saying this policy and was not told over the phone! So like I told them they can keep it for about 20 more minutes, till I call my card and Dispute it! So I now have my $100 back and by the way it was couple dollars over $100 they do not tell you!!!! So Do not use this company that looks to rip people off for no services.... and by the looks of others reviews they rip you off with services and even if you buy the renters insurance lol!!!! read more

Dean Einstein has really improved the ship store at Walden Marina since he took it over. He has significantly increased the quality and quantity of groceries and sundries stocked by the store. In addition to cold drinks he now stocks beer and wine as well and normally has hotdogs cooking on the grill. He just installed an ice machine that makes fresh ice on site. He has a reasonable stock of marine items and can order items on request from West Marine for fairly quick delivery with no delivery charges. He also sells live bait. He sells gasoline and has had it tested to ensure good quality. He has washer and dryer and a shower. Last but not least, he maintains the restrooms at the end of the fuel dock in very good condition. This is a dramatic improvement as they were previously terrible. We are very impressed with all the improvements that have been made at the ship store. read more

We rented a pontoon for four hours on a lovely Saturday afternoon. We were 30 minutes late and they graciously gave us an extra thirty minutes to enjoy their beautiful boat. The pontoon looked brand new and there was ample seating for four adults and two children.
