TLDR: AVOID. Monday 6pm: Walk into a store with paper scraps, clothes, and various other trash items on the floor everywhere. I stand there for 5 minutes in silence in an empty store with nobody asking why I'm in there as there's a young guy on his phone and one older guy on a computer wearing a hat and with a toothpick. I speak up and say hello can you embroider. He says yeah yeah show me what. I explain the ask and he says pick a font. I choose a font that he says won't look good. I say let's try. He says okay fine $40 and I'll send you a mockup of what it will look like before I do it. I say deal. Wednesday 3pm: I call and a young man picks up the phone. I say hey 2 days no mockup yet. He says let me check. I hear the elderly man that I spoke to yelling in the background saying I'll get to it when I get to it. The young man comes back on the phone and says yeah it'll be ready tomorrow. Before I can say okay, he hangs up. Thursday 3pm: I get a text with the mock up and a phone call. He says come by 5pm and it'll be ready. I show up at 430pm and it's neither ready nor is the elderly man there. I take a stroll around the neighborhood before I finally come back and stand at the counter for 15-20 minutes in complete silence as the elderly man is doing something on his computer. He talks to the young man about me saying he's the one that called. After the 20th minute I say, hello are the hats done. He says I'm making the sample piece right now. Another 10 minutes go by as I stand in silence. He shows me the sample piece. Looks like shit. He says I told you it won't come out good. I examine further, the stitching is uneven and the thread quality is not good signs of poor craftsmanship. He blames it on me, the font size (3 lines on the side of a hat), and the amount of text (13 words). Mentally I was fed up. Didn't want to argue. Wanted my stuff and wanted to go home. I told him to give me my stuff back. Another 10 minutes standing in silence as he heard my request but went to go work on his other orders. Terrible customer service and very unorganized. EVERYONE has an attitude, literally everyone.The girl upfront is very ghetto and uneducated so be prepared for your request to get screwed up. This shops takes weeks to months to embrioder clothing that should take no more than two days. Unfortunately, this is the only place that has the permission to use the school logo for my child in the neighborhood so I was forced to go back multiple times UNTIL they embroidered the WRONG logo on my child's unforms and had the nerve to blame me like I don't know what school my child goes to?? They refused to refund me or pay for the damaged property due to their no refund no liability policy. Who runs a business like this??? We are in the middle of a pandemic!! These people should be happy to still be employed and not shut down.$200 down then drain unless I win in court. read more

PART 2 OF REVIEW-PLEASE SEE PART 1 FIRST A man who I had never seen before but was tasked with fixing the mistake brought my jacket over and told me that in the process of removing the letters the fabric had been damaged. PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PICTURES. I was furious. I told him that I was not specifically angry at him because he was not the one who made the original 2 mistakes but that at this point, I had a right to be angry at everyone in the shop. The woman who I originally dealt with said "I'm not taking responsibility because I didn't make the mistake." Totally disgusted, I asked for the $20 I paid to have the letters put on the jacket. I was told there is a "NO REFUND POLICY". HOW CAN YOU HAVE A "NO REFUND POLICY" WHEN YOU'RE THE ONE WHO NOT ONLY MADE A MISTAKE, TWICE, PLACEING THE LETTERS BUT HAVE NOW DAMAGED THE JACKET?? It was at this point that I realized that I had paid this "business" $20 to ruin my jacket and waste a month and a half of my time. I took my jacket and left. As me and my friend walked down the block, the women in the store chased us down. I'm thinking-ok, she is going to try to make things right. Nope. She says "I realized that you were filming me-don't out me on social media!" INCREDIBLE! A few days later I decided to write this review and this Yelp page was created. I stood outside of 109 Embroidery to take a picture of the storefront to post with my review and the owner came out. He said to me "I see your taking pictures; just remember we all live around here; I know where you are and you know where I am". I told him that I had no idea what that meant and walked away. I hope that the owners and employees of 109 Embroidery read this review and realize that when someone pays you to perform a service and you make a mistake-not once, not twice but three times-you can't stand by a "NO REFUND" policy. All I wanted was my $20 back. This review is here because you have no idea what customer service is, how to run a business and how to take responsibility for your mistakes. I took a hooded zip-up jacket to 109 Embroidery to have them put the phrase KEEP 4 FEET AWAY on the back. I specifically told the woman who was helping me to make sure that the phrase was placed below where the hood ended so that it could be read. She told me "don't worry boo-he's been doing this for 25 years; they know how to do it." I paid $20 in cash and was told that I would be called in a few days when it was ready. I waited a week and after not receiving a call I went to the shop. A gentleman, who I assume is the owner, brought me the jacket and I immediately could tell that the letters were placed in the wrong area. The word KEEP was placed on the back of the jacket just below the shoulder line; the hood was covering it and all you could see was 4 FEET AWAY, exactly what I asked them NOT to do. When I brought this to his attention, he told me that I needed to put the jacket on and then I would be able to see the whole phrase. I put the jacket on, looked in the mirror and the hood was still covering the words. He then told me that I was wearing the jacket wrong and needed to zip it up and pull the strings to tighten the hood. I went along with it but I could still not see the words. I even asked 2 other customers that were there and they could not see the word KEEP. I told him how ridiculous it was for him to tell me that I was wearing the jacket wrong and asked him to fix it. He said that he would remove ALL of the letters and re-apply them starting below the hood. I asked if that would leave any marks on the jacket and he said "no". I asked how long this would take and he said "I need to order the solution that takes the letters off-give me a week and a half. I'll call you when it's ready. Let me have your phone number." After waiting for 2 weeks and not getting a call, I decided to go to the shop myself to find out if the jacket was ready. It was. As the gentleman is showing me the jacket, I realize that he has not moved all the letters down below the hood but instead has only taken the word KEEP off and re-applied it with smaller letters-which the hood still covers! Good grief!! I tell him that that not only is this not what he said he was going to do, not only did removing the letters leave a mark like he said they wouldn't, but that even though the letters are smaller they are still hidden by the hood. I asked him to fix it properly which caused him to become extremely agitated. "This is costing me money" he told me. I told him that if the job had been done correctly the first or second time, he would not be I this position. I then offered to pay fully or split the cost of the repair with him. For some reason this made him more aggravated. One customer in the shop said to him "Yo, you made the mistake and he's offering to pay for you to fix it? What's up with that?" Finally, he agreed to fix the jacket. I asked how long this would take and he answered "I'll call you when its ready-what's your phone number?" I told him that my number was on his copy of my receipt and asked him to show it to me. Again, he asked for my phone number which led me to believe that he didn't have a copy of the receipt or the paper he wrote my number on the last time-which explains why I was never called when the jacket was ready. After waiting 2 weeks, I went back to the shop on a Wednesday and was told by the woman that I had originally given the jacket to that it was still being worked on. I asked to see the jacket-it hadn't been touched. I told the woman that it has been 2 weeks and no one has even started the repair. She told me "I will make sure it gets done-come back Saturday". I went back Saturday and guess what? "It's not ready-can you come back on Tuesday?" Frustrated, I said will it be ready on Tuesday? She said "yes, but call before you come". I told her that I did not want to call before I come to the shop-give me a day when the jacket will definitely be ready. She said "it will definitely be ready on Thursday". I said I will be back on Thursday. Thursday evening around 5:20 pm I went to the shop along with a friend to record the interaction as I had a feeling it was not going to go well. I was told by the woman that they started to fix the jacket that afternoon and that the fabric was now damaged from trying to get the letters off. I told her that not only was I annoyed that they had just started to repair the jacket on the day that I was supposed to pick it up but was also pissed that no one called me to tell me before I made yet another trip back to the shop. She told me that they had just let her know. I asked her what time did they start to repair the jacket and she told me 4 pm. Wait-it gets better! I asked why would you start to repair the jacket at 4 pm on the day you know I'm coming in to pick it up? She said "the guy who's repairing the jacked doesn't start work until 4 pm."
