July 10, 2025 We got a punctured tire a bit north of Buelton, Turned out to be the metal handle of a bucket. We limped into 101 Auto Shop since it was the first auto repair we saw. Cesar put our car on the lift and started making calls re the correct new tire we needed. We had plans to have breakfast at Ellie's , and figured we could walk. But Cesar, incredibly, told us to use his car and to enjoy the Danish pancakes. After breakfast we went back to his shop, paid a reasonable price and were on our way. Nowadays, you don't find this kind of service or such a trusting person. Thank you Cesar! read more

Please avoid this shop at all costs. I came in August in my class B camper van ford E350 to diagnose the screeching noise. I was traveling through town and this shop was my last hope, after visiting 6 other shops. I now know why they had availability. They said the alternator and water pump was making noise. I got those both fixed. Since I was out of town, they jacked up the service costs tremendously ($225/hr). The next day, when my van experienced problems again, I found out these wise mechanics zip tied the wires of the alternator connector resulting in the wires shorting out the diode of the new alternator. Thus, I had to get a new alternator again, but this time at a shop with competent mechanics. I have an active case with the BAR and will continue to report them to any agency. These people are the reason why mechanics are perceived as dishonest and sketchy individuals. read more

While driving home from Santa Maria my tire light came on. I somehow managed to get a blade in my tire. It was after 6 on a Friday. I happened to pull over here and even though it was after hours they decided to help. These guys are super awesome and honestly a blessing. Id highly recommend these guys. read more

Cesar the owner is a one of a kind person you do not find too often these days! My wife and I were on our way to Palm Springs coming through Buellton on a Friday when I stupidly put about 3 gallons of diesel in our gas car.... I called around to every single place in town hoping they could help us get back on the road and everywhere turned me down except for Cesar, he was my last call and he said he would do it just because we were not from here and didn't want To see us stuck! We arrived there at his shop around 12pm and we talked for a bit and had time to kill before we could see it done before 4 when he closes. So we wanted to do a little sightseeing, we could not get a taxi or Uber to save our life. And without hesitation Cesar offered us his personal car and told us, complete strangers to take his car and go have fun! We could not believe this! Long story short Cesar and his team are awesome people and care about helping people in need. I would recommend this shop to anyone!! read more

First thing...I have no knowledge about the auto service aspect of this business. This review concerns the U-Haul rental side of this place, but, in seeing how they run the rentals, I suspect that their automotive service may be as good...just maybe. Via one of the main U-Haul rental depots in Lompoc (150 Vulcan ave.) a last minute reservation for a small trailer was made, and referenced to 101 Auto Shop. We arrived at 7:50 AM and Cesar, the manager (?) arrived almost exactly at 8 AM...I LOVE punctuality!! After opening up, he was ready to process our rental in about 5 minutes. As we ran through the paperwork, other employees arrived, and one was immediately assigned to hook up the trailer to one of our trucks. Basically, we were in and out of there in about 20 minutes!!! WOW! What service! I could definitely get used to this! There will be another review of a U-Haul rental facility just around the corner, on W. Hwy. 246 that will be just the opposite of this review. read more

My husband and I reserved a truck to be picked up later in the day during regular business hours (5:45 pm, to be exact) on a Friday to be used in our in-town (BUELLTON) move. We arrived early, at 5:20, to pick up the truck to get a jump on our big moving weekend. The door was locked and barred shut. We waited around, while on the phone with corporate UHaul, until 6:00 pm (when their posted hours state they close), only to be told we could drive to Lompoc / Vandenberg Village to pick up a truck. So, not only did we get a late start on moving, but because we had very specific moving-related logistical plans in place, we had to leave my husband's car in Lompoc / VV overnight and then drive all the way out back out there during a very busy weekend. 101 Auto Shop - you had one job. One. We had a reservation, for goodness sake. If this establishment can't be trusted to simply fulfill truck rental reservations, I'd definitely never recommend trusting them with something as important as your vehicle. read more

The guys at this shop were AWESOME!! Yes I'm shouting it! I was going thru Buellton on Wednesday in my class "A" motorhome. I went to 4 shops, getting turned down at all of them, before found 101 Auto Shop! They diagnosed the problem in minutes, ordered the parts and called next morning. Parts are in. To all the people who want a truly positive experience. 101 Auto Shop is A1. I'm a Grandmother who has to leave Santa Barbara for northern calf and leave her grandchildren; it's the hardest thing I've had to do move away. 101 Auto shop took care of all my needs in getting, my car ready to haul a U-Haul on a 10-hour trip. With oil change to installing a trailer hitch and making sure I have tape for box's, lock for u- haul, and dolly for loading and unloading. They took care of me like I was Family.
