I brought my 30 year old sedan to Buellton Garage for a diagnostic inspection after the engine noise and vibrations had increased to unbearable levels. I was ready to let the car go after 3 decades of reliable use. After they (BG) diagnosed several issues, I approved repairs and parts replacement. MY CAR IS DRIVING AGAIN AS IF IT IS CLOSE TO BRAND NEW. My wife is astonished, so am I. 95% of the vibrations are gone. We were just in town for the weekend, but scraped our car's undercarriage turning on a steep road grade (narrow Santa Barbara hilly residential roads, lol). We wanted to get it looked at to make sure we didn't have a problem we didn't know about, but all the other garage's would only look at us by appointment the next week, but Brandon at Buellton took our call and invited us to come in for a impromptu inspection right away. I took my truck here because it was over heating and I was there on vacation staying at flying flags so timing was crucial. They were able to fix my truck same day and even stayed late to finish so 5 stars on service, but the reason for the 3-star review is that the price was significantly higher than what it should have been. The short part of the story: If we were local, we'd have Buellton Garage work on all of our vehicles. Brandon, Tim, and the other service reps were smart, kind, helpful and supportive. Toby, our equally smart and experienced mechanic, was also courteous and supportive, supplying details as he worked. The prices are on the high side, but in reality, not any worse than other garages we've been to, and we felt confident that they knew what was wrong and, just as important, how to fix it. Plus they were able to work on the car the same day (right -- the same day!) The longer story: We stopped by at 7:30am, just before the Buellton Garage opened. We we hearing a clunking, rattling, and screeching sound from the passenger side wheel of your 2000 Dodge camper van. Brandon greeted us with a smile, looked at the schedule board, and said he could have someone look at in a few hours. That was our first surprise -- and it was a good one, because we were traveling. At about 10am, he brought Toby on board who lifted the front of the car, spun the wheel, and said it was the bearings. Over the course of the day, Toby worked: He removed the tire, tackled getting the rotor off (a major task!), And examined the bearing, which has stuck in place. Toby and Brandon worked on getting the right parts; unfortunately, they couldn't get the brake pads rotors, and fresh bearings until the flowing day. To the chase: we slept in the camper overnight, in their parking lot, and by noon the next day we were on our way. read more

The day after Christmas my car broke down, I had it towed to Chevy in Buellton they said it would take a week to look at. I called Buellton Garage they answered and said bring it in. They tested it, very comprehensive and well priced! They were quick to show me pics and explain what happened. I also was able to get brakes which saved me hours after returning home. Long time yelp user, but rarely do I write reviews. I wanted others to know about the positive experience I had here recently. :) I walked in on a Friday afternoon and was immediately greeted by Brandon, who was extremely helpful during my visit. Him and his fellow team members Jaxon and Tim were clearly busy, but interacted warmly with their customers and each other and appeared not to miss a beat. There is a coffee/snack station and a place to charge your phone inside if you plan to hang around, but I was also offered a ride or a call once my car was done being serviced, which I appreciated! Even with no appt. scheduled, my car was ready relatively quickly. My tech Toby (I believe was his name) even showed me underneath my car and a few filters they recommended I get replaced by next oil change as they were getting dirty, but not too bad yet that I was able to wait this time. For someone on a tight budget, I appreciated that immensely. Being someone who really doesn't know much about cars or their maintenance, I do worry about being fooled by auto repair shops that just want to take your $$... But Buellton Garage made me feel at ease with their transparency and professionalism. They also entered me in their raffle just for being a customer, and left FRUIT SNACKS in my car!!!! I needed a smog check for renewing my registration. I normally take it to another shop (VA) but I did not want to bother them with a ride home and a back. I decided to give Buellton Garage (BG) a try because I thought we could get some lunch while the car was serviced. I made an appointment for 11:00 for the smog (necessary) and oil change (not necessary by mileage but might as well). Dropped the car off at 11:00 and was told it would be a hour to a hour and 30. Had lunch and came back 50 minutes later. The car had not been touched. I asked and I as told that an appointments don't guarantee a repair time. They said they be working on it shortly. While waiting in the office/waiting area I could hear the desk personnel up selling customers...."Mr Red your oil pan not leaking now but we can tell it is going to need service soon for $640, Mr. Yellow, you're going to need new brake pads soon.... and so on and so on. At 12:15 they took my car back to the service bay and almost immediately a mechanic comes out and informs me that I need a new battery. After having listened to the front desk for 20 minutes I declined. The car was finally ready after 2 1/2 hours. They had a list of things that needed to be done: realignment, brake fluid flush, coolant flush....... It was obvious that they just went to the Honda web site and wrote down everything that should have been done, not knowing if I had or had not done any of the items. I am told that in the garage business this is know as a WALLET FLUSH. I declined and went to pay the bill. It was then I was informed that they had changed the oil but had not performed the smog check. The reason I was there in the first place. I paid the for the oil change and declined to schedule a smog check. The following week I took the car to VA and they did the smog check (took 20 minute). VA said would have been happy to have given me a ride if needed. So, if you want to have the repairs and test done to your car that you brought it to the shop in the first place than don't take it to Buellton Garage. If you want the work done as requested than I suggest one of the other many fine repair shops we have in the valley. read more

Thier attention to detail saved me future pain down the road by identifying my front brakes being critically worn. I took the truck back before I left town and Brandon worked me in the same day. I had the pleasure of working with Buelton Garage during an unforeseen truck repair. My family and I were camping in Goleta and the morning of our departure I found coolant leaking from under my truck. I was able to get my truck to Buelton and the crew there were able to diagnose a cracked radiator. Unfortunately the part couldn't be delivered until the next morning, but I was offered a ride back to the campsite which was 30 minutes away. The following morning, the part came in and my radiator was replaced and finished by 11am. I was back on the road and able to tow my trailer back home with no further issues. Thank you Buelton garage for getting my family back on the road during unforeseen circumstances. I would go back if I ever needed work done while in the area. Customer service was great. read more

Five stars for this place for sure. I got a flat tire on the 101 that Auto Club couldn't fix. Apparently my lug nuts are the security variety and they didn't have the tools for it. I call the nearest place, Buellton Garage and Brandon Smith answered right away and helped me out. Auto Club filled my tire so I could make it there, but it leaked on the way and I had to pull off again. I called about it and Brandon was right there for me. I was able to make it there where they had no problem with my lug nuts and put my spare on for me at no charge! What nice guys too. We live in SB so didn't buy tires from them, but they didn't care.
