Absolutely AMAZING! I truly adore 1 Nails & Spa! I grew up in Manchester, so this salon has always been the "go-to" as far as local nail salons. I no longer reside in town but my corporate office is there. I am so glad I can easily utilize the amazing customer service and quality of work at 1 Nails & Spa! I've also taken my 5 year old niece with me a few times to get her "nails done" as well and the staff were so kind and gracious. They were really good with her and made it so very special. She shaped up my eyebrows practically painlessly. However, a very loud political or religious news program disturbed me. The language I couldn't understand. Soft music is more appropriate. My first time here I got a mani-pedi, with acrylic nails and a regular polish pedicure. My pedicure was lovely and done by a young woman, let's call her woman #1. My acrylic manicure was done by an older woman, let's say woman #2, and was horrible. My cuticles were cut and bled, the nails were filed crookedly and were all uneven, and she painted my nails so quickly that they formed bubbles over night. My friend with me got a regular pedicure as well and a gel polish manicure, done by an older woman, woman #3, who rushed and was very rude, making my friend very uneasy. For the mani-pedi, it cost me and my friend a total of $50 each. I'm writing this review in the car driving home with my friend after our second time at this establishment and we are both VERY unhappy. We got a regular pedicure again, and both got dip powder nails. The older woman, woman #3 as mentioned previously, tending to me dipped my fingers in a bowl of acetone to remove the acrylics I had on previously and didn't have me remove my rings beforehand, and the black paint on my ring melted all over my fingers from soaking in the acetone for too long. She also rushed to get me to sit down so I didn't get to pick the color for my toes and they do not match my fingers even closely. My friend had the younger woman, woman #1, I had the first time and her experience was pleasant, other than the fact that the salon's base coat for the dip powder manicure was TRASH and she had to wait for my manicurist, woman #3, to finish my nails before she could continue getting hers done. The woman doing my nails was muttering in a different language under her breath and aggressively whispering to her coworkers, making both me and my friend very uncomfortable. After this horrible 2 hour mani-pedi experience, there was nail polish all over my fingers and under my nails and the total price was $70 without the generous $5 tip I gave the woman who did my nails. They were soooo polite to not charge me a stupid $10 for removing my acrylics. My friend demanded that they fix the polish all over my fingers. We will NEVER return to this salon. UPDATE: it has been about an hour and a half since I have left the salon and my toes are turning red and are tingling. I believe an infection is forming and I have never been this angry. I'm not one to typically be picky, but knowing it can be done better makes me more observant. I decided to try this nail salon purely out of convenience. I was at the Starbucks nearby and had previously gotten a gel manicure done elsewhere. I wanted to get this one removed and a new one done. What happened first was that she had another client she was working with and took me on as well. I was not aware of this until I was sat down in another chair. Secondly is that instead of doing one nail on putting my hand in the UV dryer and then doing one nail on the other hand, she did one entire hand then had me keep that one in the dryer while doing the second hand. If you ever had a gel manicure done, you know it can hurt after a little while keeping your hand then. Maybe I should've spoken up, but I assumed every nail salon has a way of doing things. Thirdly, it hasn't even been a week and the bottom part of my nail it looks like it is starting to peel off. When I got a gel manicure the previous times, it looks nothing like this, it looked pristine for three weeks and I never had to go in for any fixing. I should've just gone back to that salon to get my nails done again. Happy Nails in town is where it's at. Massages while you are waiting for your nails to dry as well as they wash your hands for you instead of telling you to go do it yourself. That last part isn't a big deal, but at Happy Nails it was a much better experience for the money. My advice to the staff: don't take a client when you already have another one that you were working on. Also double check your work, once I had to tell her that she forgot a nail and other times I had to tell her that there were streaks and spots in my nails that need to be fixed. The staff should be more on top of that. Also alternate between doing one nail on each hand versus doing an entire hand at once. It's hard to keep it under the dryer for too long. read more

I would give this place zero stars if it were an option. Not sure what happened to this place over the past few years. Dirty tools used over and over. The RUDE woman that didn't even acknowledge my presence when I walked in was VAPING at her nail station while chit chatting with her friend that cut me in line for my appointment. Not sure if vaping is even legal in a salon but whatever. I had an appointment, waited over 40 minutes to even be seated and received the worst "manicure" of my life. Well I like it here, if I get Matt and Tina I'm good. Matt did my nails and they lasted a whole month which is unusual for me cuz my nails grow fast. Other places I went my nails use to lift like no tomorrow. I'm going to get a fill soon and I'm sure it's going to be just as great as the first time. Oh and Tina oh Tina. She slayed my eyebrows. I am disabled. I have been to this shop multiple times because it is clean and they do a good job. However, today, I resolved myself to never go back. They left my feet in the soaking tub for over an hour. I kept on asking when they would get me in is at all I'll be right there. That went on for another 20 minutes. the staff just ignored me.I eventually left after an hour of being Ignored. I was so incredibly unhappy.They know that I have problems with pain, and I literally couldn't sit still and wait to get my pedicure, and I had to leave. I am never going back there again. I walked in as a new customer. Super excited about their $25 pedicure! My original nail tech is away for two weeks so I figured I'd get a fresh set here as well. I asked for medium long length ($15 extra ) and ombré pink and yellow. Long story short. I was so disappointed with the end result. I didn't even let him finish putting a top coat on. I walked in and was told by guy at front of shop they could handle 2 pedicures. My brother and I sat in the chair and a lady who spoke no english said $45? $45? . I told her yes assuming she was going to do something fantastic . She started on my brother and I waited for 15 minutes for someone to show up to my chair and she said $45? 45? . Quaint nail salon. This is my second visit. For guys, the regular mani/pedi price is $33.00. No appointment is necessary. The place is small in comparison to most nail salons I frequent. The equipment is dated but adequate. They have a sterilizer for their nail accoutrements. They use it too! My aesthetician was pleasant. She asked questions but was not too chatty. This allowed me to just sit and relax. She was solo and first provided the pedicure. We left that station and she sat me at her manicure station. Not all of the functions on the massage chair seemed to work. It was probably user error (lol). The hours are posted on their front door. Unfortunately I didn't jot them down. You should call ahead first. The salon is directly across from the KGF. There is ample parking and disabled parking spaces. I will definitely return if I can't get in to Infinity Nails in Seattle or Bay City Nails in Hermosa Beach before my next trip to CT. read more

The place is consistently very clean, services are good and it is in my opinion the best pink UV gel place in the area. Eye brow wax services are good too!! I have been here before where the owner did a good job on my nails (powder dip) even though I had to wait a long time. Since he did a good job I was happy. Yesterday I went while being home for the weekend and it was the worst manicure I've had. I did powder dip again, which can be a longer process because you have to groom the nail more and after once the powder is on. This process (which normally is 1 hour) took about 30 min. The woman that did my nails used a drill to cut them down, which made them go down to my nail bed even though I asked for a trim and file to an oval shape. I have long nail beds that extend PAST my actual finger so I cannot have short nails. Needless to say, my nails are shorter than my nail beds which is incredibly painful. My cuticles on my thumb and ring finger also bled from being rushed. The whole process felt rushed and aggressive, and I ended up not leaving a tip for the manicure. I could have said something after the drill but my nails were basically gone within 10 seconds so what does it matter? I will likely not be returning here...it is also cheaper in fairfield county to get a better manicure with kind employees. Almost $50 to have my nails in pain! read more

made an appointment because we were kind of pressed for time. they didn't seem bothered by the fact they were 30 min late for us, had me soaking in ice water, my friend is boiling water. After sitting in ice water for another 10 min waiting for someone to give me a pedicure I finally got up and left. The lady doing my friends pedicure finally seemed bothered once she realized I was leaving but at that point it was too late. She rushed my frienda And did a terrible job! I went with my mom and got a pedicure today. We didn't have an appointment but we were pleased that there was enough staff to take us right in. A huge pet peeve of mine is getting pedicures with someone but not having them done at the same time (even when appointments are made) the staff was friendly, the place was very clean and extremely cozy with beautiful chic decor including chandeliers and new TVs. Ive been here three times and the first time was great! I got a mani pedi no nail polish for $40. Then i came back next just to take off acrylic nails. Not only did i have to wait so long but they did a reallly really bad job. My nails were scratchy and they didn't even smooth out my nails or put lotion on after. They definitely rushed me. Then I went today with a friend and asked for the same service and my friend got so much better of a service than i did. My pedicure was my feet being dipped in water for 30 mins and then just lotion and a hot towel. They completely skipped the blue scrub for my feet. The guy there rushes you 100% only go to the girls they do a better job. I went again today and same thing i wanted a $40 mani pedi they said yes ans once my pedi was over the guy goes its $52 for mani and pedi. Its so frustrating they keep changing the prices and now they blame it on the covid situation when in fact they just make you stupid. I visited #1 Nails & Spa when I went shopping in the plaza. I had a pleasant experience with the staff... until I realized the quality of my nails. I got a full gel set, that cost me around $50 without tip. Within two days, my index finger nail came off. I promptly got it fixed, even though it looked completely different than the rest of my existing nails. Mind you this is a gel full set with french tips, not the hardest to do for a trained nail tech. So, a few days went by (3 to be exact) and more than 4 of my nails were chipping and falling off. I returned to the salon, they gave me a fill - and then proceeded to attempt to charge me for the fill. Since the following Wednesday, I went back twice. They did not get payment. Today is Monday, and two of my nails already chipped off. Save your money, time, and patience and go elsewhere. read more

It was clean, quaint and a relaxing experience. The workers were polite and friendly. I didn't schedule an appointment and was assisted within 5 minutes of walking through the door. This salon USED to be good. When it opened it was very busy and the pedicures were great. I started to notice the quality slip about a year after it opened (not sure if they got new staff ) but basically a "pedicure" was a polish change. I honestly had one that took 12 minutes. ( I timed it ) A Pedicure here is $20. I stopped going there since I used to tip really well and for $10 more I can go to another salon and have an amazing experience. The staff here was in my opinion not that into the "customer experience." They would be talking loudly the in another language the entire time that I was having the pedicure which was not a very relaxing enviroment. It is sad that this place went downhill - I used to go here exclusively but now I take my business elsewhere. Not impressed, that's all I can say! I came with a friend for a gel manicure and she just wanted a regular manicure. I can't count how many times they insisted she get a gel manicure, even after she already told them "no." I understand up-selling, as many places do this, but I don't believe she needed to repeat herself more than once. As for me, I am unaware of the technicians name, but she was SO rude. I am very particular about what I want done and when I was kindly making sure she understood, all she said was "I know, I know!" I also didn't appreciate her yelling over me to one of the other technicians, in whatever language they speak. For the money I paid, I was expecting better service. Any other place I've gone to, a massage comes standard with the service, as well as a paraffin wax and scrub. My nails came out nice but I don't plan to return again. read more
