Mongolian BBQ on Overland is my go-to--super fresh veggies and meats, a friendly crew that says hi like they know you, and flavor that honestly beats any other spot; the line's clean, sauces are easy to pick from, the grill adds that perfect smoky sear, portions are generous, and it's fast and customizable--highlights: **fresh**, **welcoming**, **killer flavor**, **clean**, **quick**, **big portions**, **great value**.

I really like this place. The staff are happy and always make me feel welcome. The owner is especially friendly and talks with people coming in to eat. The sauces are full of flavor, much more than some of the other Mongolian BBQ places around town. I like it well enough that I normally eat here once a week. I also like the discounts offered to seniors and military service men and women. Oh, they have some good specials too. The Wednesday special is the one I like the best. Pay for a small bowl and get a medium. If you pay for a medium, you get a large.

Not all Mongolian BBQ restaurants are the same. 1 Mongolian steps it up a bit. Yes, the ingredients are pretty much the same as other M-BBQ places in town, but perhaps they are a bit fresher here. Yes, the wok gets just as hot as other M-BBQ places, and here the whole cooking area is kept super clean and organized. Yes, they have lots of sauces, but here they keep the sauce area really clean. It's really nice. One thing that they do here (or allow you to do here) is to include more sauce with your food-stuff. Allow me to explain the proper procedure for a delicious M-BBQ meal... First, place our meat in the biggest bowl that they have. Don't skimp. Second, add your favorite veggies, and don't forget the peanuts. Third, add the noodles on top. You always end up with more noodles that what you expect, so don't worry about trying to pile up as high as you can. You'll have plenty. Fourth, fill up the bowl with sauce. I like the mongolian sauce, and the bbq sauce at this step. Keep adding sauce until you can see it rising up in your bowl. Fifth, add two scoops of hot oil. Add more if you want it spicier (duh). Sixth...and here is the special secret part... Get a small bowl, and fill it up with more sauce. For this step, I like to get the curry sauce. The chef will add this sauce to your meal after it cooks for a bit. I noticed that other M-BBQ places will squirt water on the meal about half way through when the original sauce cooks off, but here they let you get more sauce to add to the meal (instead of water), and I think that makes it cook up better and the end result is a better tasting meal. For us, this place is a bit out of the way, but we end up going here fairly often, just because we like it best! ========== My mood ring is missing, and I don't know how I feel about that.

The place is not as clean as it used to be. The server hits on my daughter when we go. Creeps us out. We no longer go here.

Food is okay, I think the veggies could be fresher. Also this place really needs a good cleaning. Server was very nice though.

I scheduled a sit to Taste for the first time for my social group. We were a group of 23 and when…read morewe got there they were totally ready for our visit. We were seated right away. I tried their newish lobster special, fried rice and fried green beans. All were Very tasty as was the unfiltered sake. Based upon our experience we are already planning another visit. We also enjoyed the live music from Harry Dial.

My sister and I showed up first. We got sat at a round table and chilled until the rest of our party showed up. After everyone got there, we all checked out the menu. There wasn't a real organized system between the employees that served our table. It was a reservation for 5 but only 2 menus and 2 waters were initially dropped off. After everyone got there, 2 more waters were brought out but not the 5th glass that was missing. Then we got an over abundance of menus when we just needed a couple more. It was a rough start. We finally got to order appetizers and dinner. I got the Asparagus Delight with extra chicken. My sister ordered Pad See Ew. My cousin got the Khao Soi with rice noodles. The two other prom moms got General's chicken and a sushi roll. For starters we got the fried green beans and calamari. The wait on the appetizers seemed long. Nothing is more annoying than not being able to enjoy your starter cause your dinner was right behind it. 2 fried green beans were brought out. We had to call the server and ask about the calamari. We were confused if that was 1 appetizer of fried green beans split into 2 plates for easier sharing or if it was actually 2 orders. Well, it was 2 orders so the extra portion was taken back. The calamari did come out shortly but was fast considering we waited so long initially for the appetizers come out. I didn't try the appetizers but from what was being said the fried green beans were good and they have had better calamari. As fast as that calamari came out, I'm sure it was prepared quickly. Not taking the normal time to actually prepare something that could turn into rubber if it's not cooked properly. Dinner came out shortly. My dish looked really good. There was bright green pieces of asparagus. A few hearty chunks of cauliflower. I noticed quite a few shrimp and a decent amount of chicken. My dish was good. The veggies were fresh and crispy. The sauce was on the sweeter side but still tasted good. The shrimp was tender but did have a fishy scent to them. The chicken could have been velveted. It was white meat and we all know white meat can lean towards the drier side. I think velveting could have fixed that. I did ask for extra chicken and in all honesty I don't think I really got the extra I had ordered. Service was decent. The timing of the appetizers and food could be worked on. Some communication between employees would have been nice for more organization. I came here for lunch and wasn't impressed with portion sizes and I will have to say I wasn't impressed with the dinner portion either. It's cool that I got to come back and vibe with my family tonight. It was busy so it's great to see that people are out supporting their local Asian restaurant. I unfortunately have such a high bar set from my family and growing up in this industry. I really wish this place would have met my expectations the second time around.

Two with chicken, not pictured, and one with tofu All three of us decided on the Yakisoba noodles even though it's an additional $1.95 each. The bowls are not packed and it appears that there is a tight control on portions I had to beg for more chili lemongrass sauce and sambas chili. After hunting for plastic ware and bathroom style napkins - from one dispenser for the whole establishment, we started to eat and none of our bowls were hot or warm. The sauces extinguish whatever mildly warm temperature was provided in the noodles, rice and protein. Recommendation - Get your sauces on the side and ask for lid even if you're dining in. For three of us, it was $43.00 I wish them all the luck for the future. Our Zen is found with some Madness. The workers are so helpful so you shouldn't have an issue when ordering. If you're uncertain of a meat...you can sample it. The flavors were great. Husband had the Kung Pao Chicken with noodles. I had the chicken bowl with noodles and teriyaki sauce. Our little had the kids bowl: white rice and steak. All were delicious. Not that much seating space so be prepared to sit outside if necessary.
