I rarely leave one-star reviews, especially for businesses we've used before with success. Unfortunately, this experience was completely different -- and deeply disappointing. Several years ago, we used this driving school for my eldest daughter. Her instructor, Mike, was excellent: patient, professional, and well-organized. Based on that positive experience, we signed up again on December 27th for my middle daughter and specifically requested Mike. We were told this would not be a problem as long as we were willing to wait a few weeks. What followed was over a month of disorganization, poor communication, and ultimately disrespectful treatment by a staff member named Dave, who insisted on handling everything exclusively via text message. We were never provided a calendar or scheduling system. Instead, we were asked to manually text availability months in advance, which we did -- repeatedly. Despite multiple follow-ups, Dave kept saying he would "get back to us" to schedule Mike, but never did. After weeks of trying to lock down a date, I finally called him directly. That call was shocking. Dave was abrasive, dismissive, and offered no solutions. He abruptly informed me that there were now no available dates until mid-March -- more than two months out from the call, and nearly three months from the date we paid. He refused to escalate the issue or let me speak with anyone else, and made no effort to offer alternatives. After this experience, I went back and read the recent reviews -- something I regret not doing sooner. There is a clear pattern in the last few years of complaints about scheduling failures, lack of follow-through, and poor communication. Earlier reviews (2018-2021) paint a very different picture, largely praising instructors like Mike. Something has clearly changed. We did eventually receive a refund, but that doesn't undo the real cost: we lost over a month of time and delayed our daughter's ability to get on the road and practice. My advice: do not rely on past reputation alone. Read the most recent reviews carefully before booking. I am very disappointed with these ppl. The driving school was recommended to us by the regional center. Given that my daughter is on the spectrum I took this recommendation from our case worker seriously and immediately tried to schedule. They texted with me back and forth for weeks / months saying that they have new scheduling system and saying they are super busy, etc, etc. I could never get them on the phone...completely unprofessional and wasted our time and now daughters permit is going to expire soon and she never got lessons. They took money and ran and never gave us 1 lesson. They outta be ashamed of themselves taking advantage of ppl with children with disabilities. I don't leave bad reviews but this one takes the cake. They are definitely running a take the money and run scam and I will report them and follow up with legal action possibly. So very inept, unable to follow up, and deceitful. Made me lose @$500.00 as they didn't ever billed to my sons charter school on time after I had submitted a PO at the beginning of school year. We can't get that money back. Texted back and forth and they assured me that they were working on scheduling him in. They would ask the same questions every time I inquired for start date on lessons. Several times I had to submit sons name, charters name, etc etc. Never did anything, if they are so busy they should be more truthful and say so. I would never recommend dealing with this people and much less trusting your child's safety with them. Honestly, waste of money. I paid for 6 hour training and they barely even gave me 3. I ended up having a friend teach me since I was not comfortable driving yet, even though that's what the lessons are for. Since I made scheduled the dmv driving test myself (I wasn't told they'd make it for me), I can't use the car that I paid almost $500 dollars for. If I had to learn all over again, Mike would be my first choice! He deserves the 5 stars. I came to the lesson nervous about driving (I did the manual/stickshift lesson). I explained my concerns about learning stick and he addressed every one of them until I felt confident. I was nervous to drive the freeway and do an uphill start, but his guidance helped a lot. He's very patient and explains things clearly. Leagues above the instructors I had when I was learning for my license. Amazing! Mike was my instructor and he was very friendly and patient with my driving. He answered all my questions and even gave me some pointers with stick shift. Very professional overall and just an amazing overall experience. He allows you to work at your own pace and doesn't force you to go beyond what you're comfortable with. He was very patient with my stalling and after 2 hours, I was definately comfortable driving stick shift. Everyone learns at a different pace but having Mike there really made it fun. We didn't hillside start, point shifting, taught me the basics and we even drive on the freeway. There was traffic so he taught me some advanced techniques on how to drive in traffic. He was very helpful and made me really comfortable and confident behind the wheel. Mike knew all kinds of tips n tricks that make you a safer driver. If I could give them 1000 stars I would. This driving school was the best fit for my daughter and I'm so glad I came across them. My daughter did the (3) 2 hours sessions for her driving requirements and her instructor was so kind and professional. She was so comfortable with him and I would recommend this company to anyone who needs any driving lessons. Setting up my appointments were very easy and that I appreciated so much. They were so flexible and made sure whatever days we could do they made it happen. I had absolutely no issues and I will be referring them to my family and friends. My daughter took her behind the wheel on Friday and passed only having 4 errors we give credit to 1 driving school. Thank you 1 driving school we appreciate your flexibility and time. Had been considering driving school for stick shift for a really long time and finally decided to do it and it was an amazing experience! The business was very professional and answered my questions very quickly. Mike was an amazing instructor and was able to teach me how to drive stick in the two hours course. He was extremely patient and also very helpful at giving pointers to improve things I wasn't doing good at. Never once did I feel that he was impatient or getting frustrated. Definitely recommend this course for someone who wants to learn stick shift. They also have a 6 hour course but I found the 2 hour course to be extremely helpful and we were able to fit a lot into it where I felt like I didn't need to pay for the 6 hour one. read more

1. My son drove students home as part of his lesson times. On their very 1st session--- before instructor even knew how good or bad of a driver my son was--- he came with another student in the backseat needing to be dropped off. That's a safety issue. As a parent i wouldn't like my kids being driven by someone who might be barely learning how to drive. On their 3rd session (which was supposed to focus on prep for a driving test 2 days later) my son drove 2 students home. He drove back and forth in freeway traffic for 3 hours during rush hour (from Diamond Bar to Pomona to Downtown LA then back to Walnut). Doing that DID NOT prepare him AT ALL for the driving test. That session lasted 3hrs. Taking other students home should NOT be part of my son's time which I PAID FOR. Not to mention the distraction of having an audience during your PRIVATE lessons. 2. Scheduling We had a 4pm appt which kept getting pushed back. The instructor finally picked him up at 440pm--- which would have been ok but the 2 other students were in the car needing to be dropped off at their houses!?! He needs a better system in scheduling his lessons. 3. Did NOT prep for driving test From the very beginning we were very clear that we would like the lessons to focus on prepping our son for the test. On their last session, my husband even texted the instructor to practice parallel parking with him. My son said THEY DIDN'T because Mike said it was not part of the test--- which turned out to be part of the test which my son FAILED. Instead of driving on the freeway (which is NOT part of the test) a mock driving test would have been more appropriate. End result: my son failed parallel parking and he didn't even know where the defroster was (among other things). A total of six hours of paid sessions would have been enough time to go over all minor and major details. What the instructor did was give my son a website to read which i doubt my son had the time to do. That's definitely not what i paid for. 1 star for the instructor being nice, friendly and pleasant according to my son. read more

Made an appointment for my little cousin, and I had a really great experience. The instructor provided 6 hours of driving lessons, and was very pleasant along the way. He showed up early, and my niece felt very comfortable learning from him. My niece passed the DMV test a week later, and feels that she learned a lot of valuable driving tips. Bought the "Full Package 6-hour Course" specifically because they teach manual transmission (nobody else does manual anymore!) and you get to use their car every step of the way. It was for my 18-year-old who has never driven a day in his life and the course described it as "recommended for adult students with limited or no experience." 1st lie - you either need to have familiarity or do a ton of driving in between lessons. This is something they don't tell you up front, which is a problem since the reason I paid for this course was because I have a 5.0 supercharged Mustang with manual transmission (try learning on that muscle monster!) and not the right temperament to teach - hence why I bought the lessons in the first place. (You use their calm car for the lessons AND the test itself and are supposed to get a teacher who has an equally calming teaching style!) Also the lessons are described as "We provide everything and assist the student every step of the way at the DMV." 2nd lie - they only give the basics and the last of the three lessons they wanted to tack onto the extra 45 minutes that they are supposed to give you before the test itself. (Talk about jamming things in last minute!) The reason is so they can add on other lessons before the test for more money. (This was an option told to me by the instructor - guess their course descriptions are merely a stepping stone!) As far as the service itself a major disappointment and headache. We only had three lessons (which we had to hound them to book!) but nevertheless there were two different male teachers (not great for judging progress and come on - it's only three lessons!), they were not punctual (they claimed there was an hour window but also arrived hours later for the third lesson!) and the last lesson the kid claimed he felt stressed out by the heated teacher (won't name him!) - a bummer since I could have done that myself for free! (Next time guys I suggest going with a woman as an instructor - they have a much more calm and understanding demeanor!) Also the actual DMV test was made without consulting the kid and just sent as a text even before the lessons were done and scheduled - should that not have been agreed upon at the customers convenience? Discussed all this with the rep at the bitter end as the kid decided not only did he not want to take the final 45 minutes training and DMV test but not even drive anymore after this experience and while the rep did apologize he offered no concrete compensation or money back options of any kind as an atonement for all of the above. (I did say I wasn't going to haggle over the money - I wash my hands of the whole thing - but having only taken the not so great lessons and not the 45 minute before-test prep or the test itself any respectable business should and would offer something back to say sorry!) Overall a total frustrating disappointment, an utter waste of money (give that money to charity!) and had the 100% opposite effect since the kid now does not want to drive ever. (Thanks guys!) Save your money parents and just yell and teach the kid on your own car white knuckling it hoping they don't crash your car like my Dad did before my mom stepped in. (And especially if your learning on an automatic as that does not require lessons - my nine year drove one of those at Speed Zone with no instruction...gas, brake, gas, brake!) There goes my hard earned bucks driving off into the sunset...sans the kid! read more
