First, my husband and I used to come here often prior to the pandemic, but yesterday we came here for lunch for the first time in over two years. I'm happy for the owner who was able to sustain during the shut-down and is now back in business. When we went, the food was delicious. Everything was fresh, clean and the owner greeted us as if we were old friends who hadn't seen each other in a long time. The servers, too, were welcoming and friendly and made certain that your drinks remained full and that both the food and dessert areas were kept stocked and clean. It's an all you can eat Asian buffet. They have a salad bar, 2 full entreé bars, and a long dessert counter. The food here is hit or miss. Some days it's good and other days it's blah. They don't have much of a healthy variety of items here ( as far as entreés go) but what can you expect at an Asian buffet? Some of my favorite items here are the chow mein, sushi, cream cheese rangoons, veggie egg rolls, BBQ pork, chicken skewers, chicken wings, beef and broccoli, green beans, hot and sour soup, and the salad bar. On the weekends, they offer crab legs, deep fried soft shell crabs, and shrimp. All very delicious! Dessert counter offers cookies, ice cream, chocolate and mango squares, fresh fruit, and pudding. The staff here is very friendly. They're always clearing the tables of used plates, wiping down tables, mopping floors, and vacuuming the area when there are less customers around. Some of the customers can get rude at times over the food, especially over crab legs. They will empty the whole tray out without being considerate to other customers waiting behind them. It isn't fair. I suggest they limit the amount of crab legs one person can get at a time. Affordable price to eat to your hearts content. Me and my family loved coming here before the pandemic. Recently went back and it just wasn't the same. The food quality isn't the same, stale, and they took away the crab legs during the week. They have a 10% CoVID surcharge they failed to mentioned before seating you. On top of that they charged an additional 10% gratuity for being a group than 8 people. Which is understandable. Huge space with a hungry crowd aspect. The food..it's very good, but everything is either fried or drained in sauce. Not too many options for healthy eating.. Never been here at this buffet but I'm glad we decided to come here the staff is really friendly they refilled our drinks promptly. They Also take any dirty dishes we had in our tables which was surprising for me since my family has frequently visited more expensive buffets. In which they rarely refill our drinks take dirty dishes when they see them on our table and gives us the bill ASAP in which it really kills the vibe in our table. The employees here are really attentive to the consumers . That's what is most important to me. The food ? is what you expect in a buffet this is not a five star restaurant it's funny how many people complain when they are in a budget. Edit: the bill was 72 dollars for five adults!! They offer a ton of variety of food. (Did I say that right?) They try to be clean but still there is a grungy feel to the place. Of course, I did not expect much since Hawthorne, at least, this part of town looks economically depressed. So since I was not expecting much, I ended up quite pleased. Here is the breakdown: 1) Service: The hostess (the person at front) was very friendly. She was a breath of fresh air because on my way to enter the restaurant, a man passed me by and gave me a scary look. A lynching look. 2) Food: I am the type who just stick to a few even if the place offers a ton of varieties. So I had the Miso Soup, Seaweed Salad and the Baked Salmon. All very good. 3) Price: $8.49 for a Monday lunch. (Probably higher during weekends.) I recommend this place during weekdays, if you want a quick bite and if you are in this area. read more

I've been here twice. First time with ex and then again with sisters. It was much more interesting with my sisters. I had been to the restaurant before it turned into this buffet. It used to be real nice and elegant inside. Now it is a brightly lit HUGE dining room with rows of food. The first row has the salad items, condiments and sushi. There are trays of raw tuna, raw salmon and shelled shrimp. They also have trays of different kinds of rolls (California, beefsteak leaves, spicy tuna, etc.) The raw fish is just cubed pieces. They have wasabi (with ice tucked into it) and pickled ginger, but you have to search for them in the sea of condiments. They had little metal containers of things that I had never seen before. Some looked tasty, others had an evil smell to them. I do like the kimchee they have on the bar. The rest of the rows have the typical Chinese buffet fare. Expect chowmein, dried out steamed rice, bland fried rice, orange chicken, pizza (why is that always on these buffets?) This is all the bland stuff. HOWEVER--get the salmon. It is in a big tray and it is yummy. It is steamed/baked in some sort of tasty liquid. It still tastes like salmon but it is infused with a lightly salty flavor. Next to it are other seafood items. The crab legs are popular. They have a garlic shrimp that no one touches (I think it is because the shrimp are smaller and look like the vegetables that are in the mix.), but eat some. It has good flavor. I like the "chicken fried roll." Basically, it is an egg roll wrapper with some sort of minced meat and imitation crab inside. It is deep fried and cut into pieces. I've never had anything like it. I like to eat it with the sambal oelek chili paste or some pickled ginger. Along the back wall, they have melon, oranges, watermelon, jello, sheet cake, cocunut cookies, almond cookies, nasty looking tapioca and strawberry flavored bananas. On a nearby steam table, with the savory foods, there is an apple turnover. I liked it, but I like most things with apples. Be forewarned. It gets humid in there! It also gets crowded. The people who go there are serious eaters. These are the people who sit in the small booths closet to the food and pounce on the kitchen staff as they replenish the steam trays. How else can you pile up your plate with the freshest batch of orange chicken or crab legs? Families with 50,0000,000 children tend to come here, too. Parents take their time eating and the kids run around poking the food and making noise. I usually flick the wrapper from my chopsticks at them. One day, I'll catch one of the little creeps in the eye. (Those are fun and games, you know!) There is a bigger parking lot in back, so don't be discouraged if the lot in front is full. Of all the Chinese food buffets we have tried, this has become our go to place. As with most of these places, we don't expect Vegas style quality, service or variety. But for what it is, we are pleased with their food, cleanliness and service. I like the salad bar, sushi and salmon, my wife inhales the crab legs and the fried crabs. Haven't been here for a long time. After tonight it will probably be a long time before we go back. The only good thing is the price is the same 7 nights a week. Not like some places that raise the price on Friday Saturday and Sunday. As of 4/28/17 the price for dinner is $12.99. There is a discount for seniors. As to the food. There is a large selection of seafood and oriental style meats. No fish except for salmon sashimi cubes. There are many vriations of California roll for sushi. The salad bar has many toppings including walnut halves. First time I have seen that. The green for the salad is endive no lettuce. It looked like a thin/runny potato salad and cole slaw was available. No tomatoes or onions. I have said it before, "People that do not eat salad should not set up the salad bar." There were pork chops, cold and hard. Fried chicken wings also cold. The stuffed mushrooms were also oily and cold. Don't ask about the french fries. Beef ribs? looked left over. Corn on the cob floating in warm water, didn't want to try it. Was able to get a few warm fried shrimp and crab legs. The ice cream, soft serve, was good. Will probably go back next year and see i they have figured out that a hot buffet needs to be very warm or hot anything other than cold. read more
