Horrible company, do not recommend. Had some small particle board furniture I needed removed, more out of convenience than anything. They quoted me 240-1000 and I said, okay no way I'll pay more than 240 for this I don't want to waste anyone's time, but I'm not willing to pay more than $240 for a job I can do myself and fit in my car. They reassured me. They show up and say, this will be more than 3/4 a truck, at least it's $670, with $170 being labor. I told them to leave and get off the property. I don't even want to give them my business. They could have offered $50 at that point. No deal. The principal is what kills me. Bad actors. When I showed up to do it myself, for record, I was able to load all of the items into the trunk of a jeep grand Cherokee in under 15 mins. I cannot emphasize enough not to use this company. It's a classic bait and switch place. Only use them if you are willing to pay any price to remove what you need. It's not that I disagree with the fact that they can charge whatever for the services they provide, that's their prerogative, they will waste your time and try to fein transparent pricing, then later in the day when they show up, try to hook you into something absurd. We scheduled a pickup of a couch. I repeatedly ask for a cost estimate to be told they'd price the job onsite. Mind you it is a very standard couch so I'm not sure why a professional moving company can't give a cost range. My wife and I needed to get rid of an old couch and she researched it and told me it was between $100-$150 to get these guys to take away an old couch. I thought she had spoken with someone but she had seen pricing online. I was working from home and she had to be out so I said I would meet the guys when they came. They came after the stated 12-2 window but whatever that is par for the course with these things. They price based on volume and so the first guy starts doing some calculations while the second guy hands me the rate sheet. It ranged from a minimum visit fee of $228 to $1,800+ for a 'full load' whatever that means. Guy two was starting to share the $800 price for the half load when I said whoa wait a minute my wife was told it was $100-$150. Guy one then says oh yeah that is right we do have a $99 price for couches. I then realized the full load was of equine feces. Buyer beware, would not use. read more

Honestly, don't use this service. I called and spoke with a representative, described the material and quantity and followed up with a photo. I was given an estimate of $350 to dispose of the material (scrap wood, old tile, etc from a renovation project) and I assumed $500 would be enough just in case. We booked an appointment (scheduled from 3-5pm) and waited until 5:40pm when the truck showed up. I was given another quote of minimum $900. I mentioned the initial quote and my budget of $500, but was told the phone representative gave me a "national average." I feel like they bait and switch and prey upon people spending their time only to be frustrated and doing/paying anything to get the job done. Terrible company. read more

To start with, the 2 young guys that picked up my stuff were very friendly and professional. They explained every step of the process and were very clear about what they were doing. But, I found the service to be very expensive. It cost $750, including the tip, to remove 6 items which included a stand-alone freezer and a computer desk. I was told that the items took up 1/3 of the truck. There were also extra fees added to pay for third party contractors to deal with the items after they got back to the yard. This included $40 for draining the freon from the freezer. As I said, I thought these guys did a good job, and was definitely willing to tip them. The problem was that the tip is given on the app that the driver was using for the entire process, so it was completely right in front of the workers. I felt pressured since they immediately say what my tip was. I was given the choice of 10, 15 or 20 percent. Since the job was so expensive, I chose 10% which is less than I would usually tip. read more

I looked on their website and it listed a $69 removal fee for any mattress. No mention of recycling fee or anything else. They even asked for my zip code before showing the price. When they showed up they said it would be a minimum of 228 and that the website was a "special". False advertising, misleading and poor business practices at best. I needed to have one recliner removed and contacted 1-800-Got-Junk based on an online price quote for one item of $89. Representatives will not give a quote over the phone and I did have the right to refuse the job on that day but since the replacement chair was being delivered the next day, I was in a bind. When truck arrived two very nice men looked at the job and told me it would cost $288. When I mentioned the online quote I was told that their online quotes are outdated. That was totally unacceptable to me but I was desparate at that point and told them to go ahead. I immediately emailed my dissatisfaction to the company and was told that there would be a follow up but as of this date, over 2 months later, I have heard nothing. I contacted them to do a small job - removal of 5 pieces of furniture from a senior community apartment. I live about an hour's drive from there. They said they'd be there between 1-3pm on Friday. I got there Friday at noon to do some cleanup. At 2:30, I got a call from the guy, who said they were running late but would be there. At 3:30, I called him, and got a non-working voicemailbox. He called back and said they were delayed and would be there by 6pm. I couldn't wait around, so we agreed that they would come the next day (Saturday) between 2-4pm. So I had to drive home in rush hour traffic (2.5 hours). Then return the next day (Saturday) by 2pm. At 3:45, after still not hearing anything, I texted him. At 4:15pm he texted me and said they were delayed (again!). I sent him another text telling him how disappointed I was. He texted me back apologizing, but didn't give me an ETA. So I left. At 7:30pm I get a text from another guy (the mover?) saying they were an hour away. I was so disgusted at this point I didn't even return his text. Needless to say, this was the most unprofessional outfit I have ever dealt with. I would leave zero stars if I could. My advice - STAY AWAY! read more

The pricing is outrageous. I paid $568 to have a couch removed. They also tried to charge me $250 for labor. What? They removed the charge when I questioned it. Their new business model is to withhold pricing until they arrive. You can send them away if you don't like the price. Buyer Beware! They came out & gave an estimate. Was quoted thousands of dollars. It was too expensive. I told them that. They offered to cut the price by 50%. The first quote was blamed on costs from the government such as OSHA. They complained endlessly about government costs. Was told that they "junk" most items in a landfill. It's cheaper to rent a dumpster & do it yourself. Seems dishonest to quote a high price and cut it in half. Seems misleading to claim they try to keep items out of landfills when that's what seems to happen. Did not use their service and cannot recommend them. Good luck having these folks get back to you if you run into a problem. A double charge that occurred for a service I received on March 8th of this year. During the transaction, the person who charged my card experienced a connection issue and needed to use a different phone to complete the charge. As a result, my card was swiped twice, and I have since discovered that I was charged twice for the same service. I have made several calls to address this issue, but unfortunately, I have not been able to get a satisfactory response. I did receive a call on the 11th at 6:30 AM, but I was unable to answer in time. The person left a voicemail, and I have since attempted to return the call and even sent a text message, but I have not received any acknowledgment or response. As I approach the two-week mark without resolution, and now after 5 phone calls to customer service they still have not rectified the issue. I had to call bank so that they would investigate the double charges. PLEASE DON'T USE THIS COMPANY, JUST HORRIBLE GETTING BACK TO YOU. ALL THEY WANT IS YOUR MONEY. My next steps are reporting them to the BBB, and a consumer protection agency. read more

If I could give less than 1 star, I would. While the removal team was kind and thorough, the business model is deeply flawed. I was asked to send photos of everything I wanted removed, and despite clearly indicating 'everything,' I had to repeatedly follow up to get a quote. I was finally told it would be no more than $2,000, but the onsite quote skyrocketed to almost triple the cost. I took a day off work to accommodate the service, only to have one truck with two workers arrive--utterly insufficient for the job. It felt like I was being hustled into paying the inflated price because I'd already committed my time. When I raised concerns, I was told, 'You don't have to accept the service.' Seriously? Wasting a customer's time and then cornering them into a decision like this is unacceptable. I cannot recommend this company. read more

THEY LIED. We had perfectly good (expensive) furniture that needed removal for an apartment clean-out--we were promised it would be donated for someone else's use. With the commercial that my husband and I have seen with pricing for one item advertised to be $49.00 only to be told that each Got Junk location is independently owned and that they could not honor that pricing. When you call for an appointment they tell you that they charge based on how much room the mattresses take up on the truck. I give them 2 stars because they did show up on time for the appointment and that's when they told us about the surcharge per mattress. They said it's because the call center is in Canada and don't know about surcharges in certain states. I will say that I had 8 mattress to get rid of but we were told that it would be based off the space they take up which is why we called them in the first place. $585 was the quote for the space and an additional $75 each mattress. I was given a quote for a full truck load of $1000 but when Owen and Dominick arrived they explained that the cost of the truck alone is one price and then you have to add in other factors. I think the problem is with the quotes because these two men did a great job today in sweltering heat! We ended up paying three times the original quote but we were in a bind and had no other option to meet our deadline. The problem is not with the workers who do the heavy lifting but with the people who sit in an office making quotes that are far from the actual quote. Buyer beware! Got Junk said that they could accommodate the same day request (yay) and estimated $195 as a base cost for the removal. When the crew showed up, within the time window, and after calling to confirm (thank you), the onsite quote was close to $500, including a mattress disposal charge. Nope. A Team came out to remove a couch, end table, recliner, washer, dryer, and about 10 trash bags. They charged my girlfriend $1,700 for it and were done within an hour and a half. They took advantage of her and there is no excuse for charging her that much. Anywhere else charges half that amount. I'm not happy at all with the way they flat out used her. I tried to cancel the reservation so I wouldn't waste someone's time coming over to my apartment after I already sorted out my mattress. In August of last year they picked up a TV and a dresser of mine. First, the invoice lies about the size of the dresser and the TV. But more egregious is the fact that a couple of hours after the TV was picked up I started getting fraud alerts for my credit card and Amazon. It appears that somebody had tried to change my passwords for Hulu and Amazon and Netflix. The only thing that made sense was the Roku. I forgot to delete and disable the Roku from the TV that got picked up and it was being used by someone I traced back to IP address and it was not my ip. I spent days almost a full week dealing with the credit cards. I had to call every single credit card I put a freeze on all of my credit bureaus. I changed all of my passwords for everything. Imagine that during a move. I paid and I have a receipt saying that I paid and in fact actually they charged me twice and then refunded one but now here we are eight months later, and I am being harassed by the company stating that I owe them $388 I was ignored, no matter how many times I called and emailed last year with this incident occurred but now I've got tons of emails stating that I owe them money and even when I send receipts and have one, please say everything's fine then the next week I get another email from another employee saying I owe money. This company should be refunding my money and apologizing to me. read more

Two guys arrived on time, were very pleasant, did the job pretty quickly; unfortunately, they didn't use dollies to move furniture; they just pushed it across the carpet. I didn't notice until I was leaving that they left quite a mess and did damage to the marble tiles and carpet in my office building's lobby. 1-800-GOT-JUNK was presented the landlord's estimate for repair of the damage and they've ghosted me. As a result, my landlord deducted $5000 from my security deposit. Planning to file a small claim against them to recover the loss. This was a really bad experience! read more
