Avoid these people. They have no problem wasting your time. My husband drove 45 mins to wait for a pick up scheduled between 2-4pm. They said they would call 15/30 minutes before arrival. He received 2 calls from an unknown number at about 11:45am. No message was left. When they didn't show I reached out to them via messaging at almost 4. I got a call back and they said they called, but couldn't reach my husband and that they were no longer coming. After I hung up, I texted him that I would be leaving a yelp review and he texted me back "How about we do the job for free next weekend and no yelp review?" I requested that they come to my house on a Tuesday, and I anticipated receiving an estimate prior to their arrival. Although the people were prompt and showed up at my house on time on Tuesday, I never received an estimate from the company. The people who took away my junk did a great job and they were very efficient, and everything was gone within 15 minutes. That said, I didn't know how much I was paying until all of the items in my basement were put into the truck. I was astounded at the price as I had not been warned of what it would cost. Bait and switch: I sent Junk King a list of 4 items (with photos) that I wanted taken away. 1. A twin bed set 2. A small love seat 3. A small folding kitchen table 4. Two kitchen chairs I received a written quote of $388 for disposal and recycling. When the truck came to pickup my items the driver said the price is now $588. Also, rather than recycling anything, the pickup team broke all the items up into smaller pieces before loading the items in their truck. All in all, I cannot recommend Junk King for junk pickup and disposal. read more

The price I was quoted was laughable. They quoted me for removing a sectional from my first-floor house that was 204% higher than the company I work with. They are way too expensive. After I called them out, the guy tested me at a price of $500! I told him that I needed the best price the first time and not the second. Even then, they were way too high. read more

As I write this, we have been sitting in the 92 degree, humid Massachusetts heat WAITING for 1.5 hours for the trucks to return to finish the job. This is in addition to them being an hour late beyond the 2 hour window this morning. We were told we'd have 3 trucks and 6 employees to do this job. 1 truck and 2 people arrived. After a phone complaint a second truck and crew arrived. No 3rd truck will be coming. Why, because 2 staff gave advance notice they'd be gone today. Junk King chose not to inform us of this until my 1st phone complaint of the day. We are here from out of state, dealing with a family death and clearing his home. This is a difficult situation in the best of cases. With limited time before flying home, Junk King has willfully chosen to waste our time and belittle our concerns. Manager Eric was condescending and showed zero concern for the situation he has left us in. I highly advise DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. Working with them has been a miserable experience. read more

Another good experience with Junk King. Easy to schedule online, easy to change appt to earlier in the day. They called to say they were on the way, arrived on time (and early within the time window, which was great for us), they were professional and efficient. Without going into too much detail, I emailed Junk King- and a dozen other junk removal businesses- on a Saturday night hoping for immediate help. We were in Massachusetts cleaning out a family member's basement. We had just a couple of days to do it and discovered it was too big of a project for us. Surprisingly Junk King called me right away and set up a time to look at the project on Monday. They provided an immediate estimate and were able to book us. Junk King gives you a flat rate for your project - not hourly. This really appealed to me. Also, our project was involved, and it was uphill-meaning they had to walk everything out of the basement and then up a steep hill to the street where their truck was parked, in the pouring rain. The price was much less than we expected and they were available the following day. What would have taken us two to three weeks took them 5-6 hours. They really work as a team and move fast. Also, they were really careful with our stuff. Even though we told them everything was being tossed; they brought several items to us to make sure we wanted them thrown out- a silver platter, several antique items. They also set aside kid stuff - like board games- for a shelter they help out. When they were done, the basement was spotless; they swept the entire basement and left no debris. I booked an appointment online for between 2-4pm. Two guys showed up at 1:40 and interrupted a presentation I was giving (I work from home). I went outside at 2 (the start of the booked window) and they said they were told to wait until 2pm and then leave. Ok... I led them over to the 2 items I wanted removed, and one guy shrugged and said, "eh, $100?" As if asking me if I would pay that, not like it was any sort of objective, legitimate quote. And no mention of the $30 off for booking online that's advertised on the website. Over, the whole interaction was unprofessional and kind of shady. I emailed all this to them and they didn't bother to respond. Update: a few weeks later I got an automated email asking me to fill out a satisfaction survey. Took about 25Mins to remove several large items, and they didn't leave a mess. Quoted price was the price charged which was better than the quote I received from another removal company. Ok I'm reporting a great experience with Junk King. Quick response, fair quote, very nice guys. They were On time, hussled to get it done but were very careful and did a great job. Quote stated was charged, all communication as stated, called before, arrived when stated. They were not the cheapest but I've used them before and appreciated the straight communication, then was also not the cheapest but I'm a huge fan of reasonable costs for excellent customer service and results. I've used these guys twice and were very pleased, both times. In this case, I left a large job for them only three hours before a final "walkthrough" for a home closing. *We* were running down to the wire and, after my first experience, I knew that I could trust them. They took an enormous amount of stuff, roughly equivalent to four Bagsters, for about 70% of what that would have cost. And they took stuff that Bagster would not. They took stuff in contractor's bags, stuff in a pre-existing bagster, and unloaded a mountain of discard from our basement. I'd easily use them again, and would trust them to come through in a pinch. read more
