Absolutely terrible experience with 1800 Appliance. We were scheduled TWO WEEKS out for a refrigerator repair, only for the company to not even show up to the appointment. When I called, they casually told me the appointment had been canceled without notifying us. After demanding service, they finally sent a tech out, who then told us the parts were back ordered. It took OVER THREE WEEKS for the parts to arrive, and then they scheduled us another TWO WEEKS out. When the tech finally returned, he said he didn't even have all the parts needed. Completely wasted our time yet again. The office eventually shipped the parts directly to us and had the tech come back out. He claimed everything was fixed and told us to wait 24-48 hours for the fridge to cool. Shortly after he left, we discovered the water dispenser no longer worked (it worked perfectly before), the ice dispenser still wasn't fixed, and now the fridge light wasn't working either. When I called the office, they tried blaming our water line instead of taking responsibility for what THEIR tech messed up. The tech even had my husband move the fridge himself to check if the line got kinked when the tech pushed the fridge back. They never sent anyone back out to properly fix the damage they caused. I requested a manager call me back and never received one. I finally had to contact Whirlpool directly to get help, and now I'm stuck without ice or water for the rest of the week waiting for another repair appointment. I even requested not to work with this company again, but apparently that's "not an option." Stay away from this company. Terrible customer service, poor communication, wasted time, and they may leave your appliance worse than before they touched it. The washing machine wasn't draining, so a technician came out and said it was fixed in about 10 minutes. When I tried to use it on Sunday, it had the exact same issue and still wouldn't drain. I've called and emailed with no response. Now I'm being told I have to go back through my warranty company and pay again for something that was never actually fixed. They were quick to ask for a survey, but given the situation, I'll be updating my feedback to reflect this experience. My warranty company had them come out for a refrigerator that is not only under the manufacturers warranty but I also bought an extended warranty. Now their billing dept. After my 2 year old Whirlpool refrigerator stopped cooling, Whirlpool had this company contact me to schedule a repair. It took 10 days before they could send someone. He unplugged and replugged it back in, and it started up. He said he found "nothing wrong", and was going to leave, when I insisted that something needed to be done. He decided he could order a replacement control board. The board came in 5 days later, at which time the company called me to schedule the installation, which took another 9 days. All together, we were without our fridge for 24 days. Lucky for us, we had another fridge in the garage which kept us from losing all of our food. The tech was knowledgeable, but scheduling took too long to resolve the issue. If didn't have a backup fridge, we'd have been living out of coolers for over 3 weeks. read more

i bought my microwave oven combo from Best Buy. they use the Geek Squad fir repairs. when my microwave stopped working on my micro/oven combo they came out 4 separate times and never were able to figure out why it would not work i then called 1800Appliance and Mike G came out. within 5 minutes of arriving he noticed the light in the microwave was not on. even though the oven gave codes of what was wrong Mike knew right away it was just a bad $8.00 fuse. He noticed what 4 different repairmen did not! Experience is key sometimes to know the codes of what it said needed replacing is wrong at times and common sense may need to be used. i will always use 1800 appliance and Mike if I can for any future repairs read more

We had a refrigerator that required servicing and after 800 appliance came over to install a new control kit during installation they shorted our evaporator fan motor, took no responsibility and as a result we have no functioning refrigerator for 6 days as they are " waiting for parts" and hundreds of dollars of spoiled food. We bought a brand-new Whirlpool refrigerator, and from the very start, we noticed excessive frost building up in the freezer. Since it was still under warranty, Whirlpool directed us to Appliance Rescue for repairs. After seven service visits, the issue was never resolved. The technician refused to put in writing that the refrigerator couldn't be fixed--only mentioning it verbally. They even replaced the freezer door, but the work was done carelessly. The shelves weren't put back, and it looked like the technician either had dirty hands or was rushing to finish the job. It seemed like they were just taking advantage of the manufacturer's warranty without actually fixing the problem. Now, Whirlpool has passed us off to another repair company that plans to replace the freezer fan, which doesn't give us much confidence. On top of that, it looks like they keep making new business pages because of all the negative reviews. Make sure to check both before making any decisions! read more

I contacted Whirlpool because a light was staying on on my electric cooktop. They sent Tommy D #71 out to fix it. He spent 3 minutes looking at his phone and then said "it could be the knob (there are 4) that is sticking or it could be one of the elements. I would have to order the parts to know for sure." He never even lifted the cook top to check underneath! I had a supposedly certified tech come out because I wanted it repaired. So I paid $139.00 to have him tell me it could be this or that! What a rip off! Don't use 1-800-Appliance! And DON'T expect and help from Whirlpool when you call them! After hearing the the repair service they have agree to issue me a full refund. Julius this senior technician with Appliance Rescue came out to our house today. Then Julius brought the control board part for our Maytag Washer and began to explain to me in details the procedure he did on the installation to the Maytag Washer from the beginning to the end. Julius tested the Maytag Washer out to make sure it was operating correctly. Julius stayed at our home for an extra thirty minutes. The total time it took Julius to do this installation was one and a half hours to complete. Julius was also training a new guy his name is Miles. Miles was a younger guy but he was really nice and polite and Miles answered a few questions I had regarding the One Year Warranty on our Maytag Washer. Miles also has a lot of experience working on all types of appliances. Then he charged me a fair price for the control board part and Julius also gave me a $25.00 Discount off of the total cost. Julius was very friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable and he has an extensive background in repairing all kinds of electrical appliances. I wrote out a personal check in the amount of $271.50. Julius also sent me an invoice and emailed it to me so I could view this invoice on my Apple IPhone XR Cell Phone. Would give them zero stars if possible. I was forced to use these guys through as Maytag used them to cover my dishwasher purchased from Home Depot. The first time they came out, they diagnosed the problem as a fault electrical panel. They told me the part was backordered and we waited four weeks for the part. They scheduled a repair date when the part came in to their repair guy and gave me a four hour window. 4 1/2 hours (30 mins after the appointment time was over) the repair man showed up. He was at my door with the box he had just opened and told me it wasn't the right part. I had changed my work schedule to accommodate this appointment, yet no courtesy call to tell me they were late. Also, not checking to see if all the parts were correct was a complete waste of my day and time. They eventually got the right part 2 weeks later, set up another appointment, and installed the part. This part worked for a few months, then broke again. We called them back and they made another appointment to diagnose the same problem. Again, they couldn't get the part in a timely manner. During this waiting period my Home Depot insurance kicked in. They ordered the part, and installed it in a week. No problem with the unit since Home Depot coverage service fixed the problem. Today, almost 6 months later I receive a bill from the 1.800. Appliance. They tell me that because they weren't able to "complete the repair", I have to pay for the service call. $140!!!! I was covered and THEY couldn't complete the repair. I told them there is no way in hell I am going to pay for a part or service that I didn't receive. They are telling me they are going to forward the bill to collection services. Shame on 1-800-Appliance for attempting to get money for their incompetence and shame on Maytag for forcing us to use such a shady and irresponsible business. Fortunately I purchased the extra 3 year warranty from Home Depot which is handled by Allstate who were great and had the unit running in a week. However, I am now trying to get someone on the phone from Maytag to dismiss this ridiculous charge This has really been a lousy experience of back and force with this incompetent company. I am SO HAPPY I called 1-800 Appliance. I bought a ventless Whirlpool dryer 3 years ago, and it recently started heating up at random times. I had another technician come attempt a repair (through my warranty company), and after 2 attempts basically said they had no idea how to fix. My warranty company gave up and reimbursed me for the dryer. But I was not about to give up! I called 1-800 Appliance and Loucos came out yesterday and spent 2 hours inspecting and working on the dryer. Once he was done, it was all fixed!!! I didn't need a new dryer after all, I just needed someone who knew what they were doing. And the entire fix cost me $130!!!! read more

As with any company, it comes down to the personnel you deal with and the work culture the company instills in them, and my experience with 1-800-Appliance and Christina and Tommy was very positive. I have the misfortune of having to work with 1-800-APPLIANCE because they are the company contracted through my Whirlpool/IKEA warranty. Anytime I have needed their help for this faulty fridge I have purchased, they have had me wait days, even a week or more before they would come out. This is pre and post-pandemic so their claims of being shorthanded due to the current crisis are bogus. When someone is dealing with a broken fridge, it is not feasible to wait long because water damage occurs, food spoils, etc. A place to store your food when you have kids and a family is essential and should only be considered an emergency service if the unit isn't functioning. Aside from having the proper staff to handle their obligations to those under warranty and other customers, they are not good at what they do. I have had the SAME issue happening with my fridge for the past three years. Every time I have had to wait for them to come out to fix it, the fix that they have done does not repair the issue and I am back where I started within about a month's time. The last time I called to have them come out for - again - the same issue, they had me wait almost a week. During that time I had to pay another, staffed and competent company to come out to defrost the freezer so it at least functioned for the days I was waiting for 1-800-Appliance to come out to fix the problem. Once they made it out, Gabriel, the technician, said it was fine and the defrosting had fixed the problem. I assured him that was a temporary fix and that it would NOT solve what was happening with the fridge long term, and that it would happen again. He disagreed and promised that if and when it broke again, I could call him personally and he would come out the same day to do the repair so I wouldn't have to wait again. Guess what!? Here we are a month later, and Gabriel is NOT coming out today, and his manager is literally laughing on the phone while I am crying, begging them to please make this a priority. I cannot afford to pay out of pocket for the fridge to be fixed today by another company, I cannot afford to lose all of our food in the fridge again, and to top it off, I am scheduled to have my baby in two days. The manager said that's not his problem and he can send someone out next Monday (6 days from now.) I am distraught, it may seem like not a huge deal, but when you live on a tight budget as we do, and have a baby that you will now need to bring home from the hospital to a house with no food or fridge, it feels like a lot. Having a manager of an appliance company that promised they wouldn't let this happen again LET it happen again and then laugh in your face when you plea with them to help fix it also feels like a lot. I am not one to write reviews just for poor service, but this is excessive and morally wrong. I will be reporting this to whoever I can to try to get this company's practices stopped. Have they diagnosis a dryer at a rental, after diagnosis they told tenant the entire home air ducting system NEED to be clean. Tenant is panicked. We have to call a Air duct company to preformed a professional cleaning the entire AC duct system. and which found out there is no lint in the the system. the company told us that the dryer duct system and completely separate from AC ducting system. BE WARE stay away from this Horrible company. They are not professional and give false information which cause other people money and trouble. Wish WE can sue them for the damage. read more

I never, ever want to use this company again. I had to go through them under warranty when my KitchenAid refrigerator was not cooling. The downside of going through the warranty is that you don't have the control of which company you use and they can't come out very quickly. Over an 8 week+ period, they gave me so much run-around, cancelled appointments more than twice, were short on the phone, gave me a wrong diagnosis, 'fixed' the fridge and then 2 days later we realized everything was melted again. You have to wait days and days for an appointment, when they give you a time frame window, they don't always arrive inside of the time frame, so you're waiting around. The office staff are not very apologetic. We had to call and prompt them for a refund that was due to us. The list goes on. After so much stress, back and forth phone calls, waiting for several guys to come out, etc. etc. they told us our fridge was unfixable. Maybe you could have told me that in the beginning??! Do you know how stressful it is to live without a fridge? We had to use coolers in the garage before we realized it was going to be longer and went out and purchased a mini fridge/freezer and besides that had to store food in a neighbor's fridge for weeks. We have to go up and down stairs to our garage, so every time we wanted something out the fridge/freezer for 8 weeks we were going up and down stairs. It would have been nice if they could offer a lender fridge. I'm usually a very patient person, but these people really got me steaming and I was glad to see the back of them. My Whirlpool refrigerator ice maker stopped producing ice. I was outside of warranty period. I called Whirlpool and they recommended 2 appliance repair companies. The first one was cheaper, however all the Yelp reviews were bad and if they could give a 0 star they would. Instead, i went with the second option which was a little higher in price. I did not want to take the risk of spending more in the end and wanted the job done correctly. Joel was my tech who was very pleasant. He called me and informed me of his arrival time. He was knowledgeable in solving the problem and identified the root cause immediately. He was able to fix the broken wiring on the bottom of the door hinge, and helped save me hundreds of dollars. There was no need to replace my ice maker. 24 hours later my ice machine was normally working. Thank you, Joel! He definitely deserves 5 stars for a great service. If i have any new issues with any appliance in the future, i would definitely get them again. read more

Had a new range that was delivered a month or two ago. The stovetop worked without issue but the oven did not. Gas could be heard when it's turned on but took a couple minutes to ignite and the force of the flame igniting put out the flame leaving only gas running. Joel S (#816) showed up, wore a mask and was very friendly. Had the issue fixed in about 5 minutes. Turned out the burner which is usually connected to the front and back of the oven frame was not connected and just lying on its side. Gas and electricity was connected but the position caused it to not light properly. He attached it and verified the oven worked. I couldn't be happier with the service and wish I called sooner after I noticed the issue. Luckily was under warranty as well so work was completed cost free. I purchased a new Whirlpool refrigerator the end of October. In early February it stopped making ice. I called Whirlpool to obtain service and was referred to 1800 appliance. I had to wait 2 weeks for initial appointment and then another 2 weeks for the part to arrived. After waiting a month for the repair, it was "repaired " yesterday. I asked the tech to please check that water was going into the ice tray before he left. He said he didn't need to check it. Needless to say, it was not repaired. Not one cube of ice has been made and the dispenser has frozen water it it. After having waited over a month for the repair, they will not send a repairman for another week. I would strongly suggest you seek a more competent company. Despite what Perry said, I just opened my refrigerator to find water all over the interior of the refrigerator as well as coming out from under the fridge onto my hardwood floors. The tech yesterday heard water being dispensed but refused to make sure it was going into ice tray. I have taken pictures of the water should there be any question as to the validity of my statement. Had I not been home, I can only imagine the damage that would be done to my floors. I have now turned off the ice maker so that further damage will not be done. read more

I did a quick check on them before they came out and saw some rather poor reviews and was then a little concerned - but, I let it play out and was pleasantly surprised. Joel came out and was very helpful and informative. He was on time and fixed the problem right away and then tested a couple times to be sure it was fixed properly. He even helped me reinstall the dishwasher because I pulled it out before he got there as this is a home remodel situation. Now I have been waiting for two weeks for them to "research" the part that is on "back order." 3 MONTHS. My dishwasher stopped spinning the water. They sent out a trainee and Joel S. today to fix it. To be fair my house is "cursed" any place that comes to fix things it's never a quick fix. Long story my dishwasher was stuck behind the lip of my tile. They couldn't get it out to replace the motor. I begged him to break my tile to get it out, I'm a mom of 8 and there are 12 of us living on property, I can not live without a dishwasher. He was super hesitant to do so.
