Expensive! Shop around a bit! My refrigerator stopped working, and I had to look for someone fast to help before all our food went into the garbage. I looked up 1-800-APPLIANCE on Yelp, saw a few pro's and con's but decided to give them a shot. Here are my thoughts: PRO's: Courteous by phone and on-site, fast to diagnose and repair the problem. CON's: Ouch! When they told me the repair would cost $250+tax, including labor and parts, I figured it would be something complex and time consuming to do. It WASN'T! My Start Relay needed to be replaced, which took all of 10 minutes or less! For my own information, I looked online and found the part cost $50! I got charged $200 in labor for the 10 minutes it took to install, equal to $1200/hour! They were nice enough to waive my Service Call Fee, $20, but I forgot to use the $15 internet coupon (I guess I'm not so sly) and they didn't ask if I had one. All in all, I'd say they did an okay job for a simple-appearing job. The price on their labor is near that of a Justice on the Supreme Court though. MY ADVICE: get the diagnosis first, pay the service fee, then shop around for a better rate or, as I found online, do the repair yourself and save some money on a fairly simple repair. read more

Ilya, tech #25, was awesome. Very knowledgeable right away and took time to educate me regarding my Kitchen Aid fridge and what broke down. He searched hard for the newer improved replacement parts available today for an older fridge (2007). He found one today in San Diego, and was able to repair the control board and motor. Kitchen Aid sent this company to repair a dishwasher that was damaged due to power surge/power outage. We were assigned tech Tim #50. He was unable to diagnose the issue, never acknowledge our explanation on what occurred and it took three trips over a period of four weeks before the problem was resolved. The frustration level was at a ten. I will say the Office Manager Anthony and Customer Service Associate Daniel were both very professional and helpful. They both responded to what I was saying and Anthony kept his word and called me back with the information I needed knowing I was unhappy. If it weren't for these two gentleman the review would have been less than one star. Not impressed with the technician but kudos to Anthony and Daniel. read more

1-800 Appliance came out to fix my dishwasher in January of 2014 and replaced its motherboard. The motherboard went out again in December of 2014 and they cleverly refused to honor their warranty by scaring me to think that, if only replacing the motherboard again didn't fix the problem, they would then have to replace the main panel, in which case, I would be charged for mortherboard, main panel, and both service calls. I grumbled, but agreed to do the $300 fix in fear of that $800 specter (though, I was most likely entitled to a free repair under warranty). Nearly a year later, and on my way out the door on vacation for a week, I noticed again, there was no power to my dishwasher. Obviously unable to schedule the service call while out of the country, I waited until today to call them. Too bad, warranty expired while I was on vacation. Shame on 1-800-APPLIANCE to refuse my warranty claim again yet, and to bullheadedly adhere to their strict warranty period even when the problem is covered with their shoddy fingerprints. read more

These gentlemen were extremely knowledgable, it was evident that they were very well trained and extremely courteous and professional. I was very impressed with them both and would absolutely use them again. We have Kitchenaid appliances that the builder installed in our home and they cost an arm and a leg to repair. We previously used A&E Factory repair who was terrible. Call Appliance Rescue if you want it done right, these guys were recommended and certified by the factory (Whirlpool and Kitchenaid). Call Appliance Rescue at 1800appliance (8002775426). Specifically request Factory Service Technician TOM H. #47 He is a professional in every sense of the word. He arrived on time. His appearance was presentable and his attitude was pleasant. Tom diagnosed the problem, provided an estimate in writing with a clear explanation and efficiently completed the repair upon authorization. He followed the repair with a verification that the dryer was functioning as designed. Considering the short notice and the availability of the service with such, I am completely satisfied with their service and happily paid the amount outlined for the repair. When it comes to stuff like this, I don't have time for 'YouTubing' do-it-yourself videos or bothering friends and family for a favor. Tom H. #47 did his job and was a sterling representative for Appliance Rescue. I mention this tech specifically in this review because I give credit where credit is due having 15 years experience in premium customer service. Prior to writing this review, I read other reviews about other techs mentioned by name. I wanted to make sure Tom H. #47 nets referral business from this review. He deserves it. Heck... His efficiency saved me time and money. I was considering upgrading my workhorse dryer which would require upgrading my battle tested washer. replaced a part on my front loader washer , when the guy left my washer wouldn't even turn on (it tuned on fine before the guy touched it) I called to get a refund for the labor but not the new part since it was installed on my washer. They refused. THE NEXT DAY 2 SEPARATE 1800 appliance trucks were camped out in front of my house stalking me after I told them the day before that I DID NOT want them returning to my home. I would not recommend 800-Appliance at all. Our refrigerator / freezer had cooling stability issues and they came out multiple times, replaced multiple part, we paid them multiple times (because it was a "different" issue), and months later we still have the same problem. I was promised on multiple occasions that they were checking into the issue with GE and they would get back to me...I never received a call back. So I've paid them hundreds of dollars for parts and labor and I still have the same issue I had when I called them originally. read more

Robbie #95 is a great guy! He finishes the job quickly and is very knowledgeable. The only reason I took 1 star off was not because of Robbie. In the beginning, Robbie ordered a replacement pump for me and then we had to wait for the parts to come. Robbie is just the technician, so he has no control over this part. I had waited 2 months for the pump to come and I was unsure of the status. I called 1-800-appliance 3 times and they said they would get back to me with an update within the next day everytime. However, I never got any updates from those calls. The only update I got was 2 months after the first appointment where 1-800-appliance said they are ready to schedule an appointment for replacing the pump. This whole ordeal was sort of annoying since I wasn't sure what was going on for 2 months. If I could make 2 reviews, I'd give Robbie 5 stars and 1-800-appliance 2 stars. read more

Scheduled a guy to come out Friday, he comes Thursday. I get it, probably someone messed up the schedule. I recall the conversation I had with the scheduler, he initially asked if Thursday would work, I said no because I wouldn't be available, but he did ask if Friday would work. I confirmed. The guy who shows up talks to me and said he would figure out why his schedule, as in my notes and on my calendar I confirmed for Friday. I waited all day for his call, but never got one. I figure we were good to go. So I wait all Friday morning, no one showed up. I call to see what's happening, asked if someone was going to show up. They responded that no one was going to show up, that the only thing in their notes was that the guy came and I wasn't here. I'm a bit confused, I thought he was going to fix the scheduling error the previous day? I thought at least someone would have called to see if they could reschedule for another day? I would suggest a better CMS program, or at the very least an email confirmation. Having to take a morning off to wait for no one is really inconvenient. I would have given them a 1, but the woman I spoke to was apologetic and I'm sure this was just an error. Unfortunately the overall experience I've had could have been better. read more

I just had my first interaction with 1-800 appliance and it was great! I am so happy I chose this company. First, I was having them come out for a repair check on my washer... turned out it isn't fixable in a price range that makes sense to keep the washer... but he was very honest with me which I appreciated. But, while he was here I asked if he could check my freezer which I noticed the night before to not be freezing some items. He immediately noticed that it was producing extra heat and said the coils needed to be cleaned... this was a minimal fee and he also gave me helpful information on keeping them clean in the future. I'm on a new apartment community and all appliances are brand spanking new. Unfortunately, new does not equal perfect. When I call the manufacturer for warranty issues, they always send out this company. I've had 3 different technicians and they have all been great. On my last call, I had Stephen #88. Awesome guy!! On initial visit, he did troubleshooting, ordered part and scheduled for extra tech to meet him in return for help( as suggested by manufacturer). He came out with other tech(Chad, I think) and they had the part replaced in about 30 minutes with minimal disruption to residents. Very clean work, always pleasant to speak with, they explain what they're doing and why they're doing it and they are simply professional. I strongly suggest calling if you need appliance work. Our Whirlpool gas dryer, which is only a year old, has been making horrible rattling and vibrating noises from day one. Since it was new, we assumed it was just a loud dryer. Over time, it seemed to only get louder and my patience wore thin. Thankfully, we were just under the 1-year manufacturer's warranty, called Whirlpool and they dispatched 1-800-appliance to come help us. They sent MJ who ended up having to come to our house 3-4 times to diagnose the issues, remove the defective parts and replace them with new parts. Great Service! Stephan came out right on time and started to work on the problem right away. We thought it was our ice maker that had gone bad but Stephan immediately knew it was the drain. He asked for a few items (an old towel and some hot water) and got to work. He was quick and efficient and friendly. Couldn't have asked for better service and the price seems about right. This is our first issue with our freezer so I don't have much to compare it to as far as pricing goes. Total BS. Scheduled for a 2-hour window online. Get a call saying they no longer have 2-hour windows, only 4. Ok, fine (should update your website though). Got a quote for $304 to fix my front gas burner on my range. Was told only one place had the part in Oregon. Was told I'd be e-mailed the quote and would have 30 days to decide. 3 weeks later I had to e-mail once and call twice to get a copy of my quote (they misspelled my e-mail address). Went online, found the part I need for $47 at sears. Fixing it my damn self. The part is less than their service call was. What a scammy waste of time. read more
