Wine and Roses is a classy place that offeres endless amenities. My girlfriend and I attended a friend of mine's wedding. The wedding was amazing. It was supposed to be an outdoor wedding, but the switch in weather brought it inside. Outside of the time delay from moving the wedding indoors the wedding went on without a hitch! Everyone was served with smiles and exceptional service. This should definitely be a consideration for those couples whom are soon to be married (including myself). We also had the opportunity to stay in the HoneyMooners room in the older area of the hotel. Absolutely stunning! What a great get-away! It's amazing how we were able to feel like we were miles and miles away yet almost literally have this gem in our backyard. read more

I visited Wine & Roses when i visited my sis during spring break and we went here for Sunday brunch... its a very cute and nice place...nothing really like this in Hawaii... its kinda located in the middle of nowhere...haha I had the fruit crepes..they were so light and fluffy...Mmm~ my sister had i think pancakes and my brother had a BBQ pork sandwich. they have pretty pig portions and everyone loved what they ordered...i couldn't finish my food cause it was just too much... they also serve warm bread...with fresh butter, salt, black pepper and white pepper...^^ read more

We couldn't get a room at the hotel, but stayed at the signature suites around the corner. The rooms were very nice, clean and we kind of liked being a little out of the way. Just a short stroll to a beautiful but simple continental breakfast. The coffee was outstanding, which is all I realy care about anyway. The staff was unbelievably accomodating. We were given an $80 gift certificate from the students of a Growing Kids Gods Way class we facilitated at Bethel Church about a year ago. It was our 16th anniversary so we took the plunge. The food was excellent, the service was very professional and the two desserts were awesome! All in all a very good experience we wish we could afford more often. It cost us $10/ year married and we were very thankful for the gift certificate! We'll go back that's for sure but only on an expense account. I came here today for my interior design class field trip. We are working on a project about renovating and redesiging a space, just like this place has over the years. For example, their restaurant was actually a home before the remodel. The gardens were beautiful, the rooms were modern and sophisticated, the spa was relaxing, the banquet room was huge, everything was spotlessly clean, everything was awesome! We attended a wedding here last month. I've included my spa review separate, but I'll include my hotel and wedding experience here. Wedding - gorgeous grounds, good food and large banquet room. The wedding planner was ok. Hotel - LOVED our room!!! This is up there with our favorite rooms we've stayed in, especially for the price! We stayed on a Sunday night so it was much more reasonable than what other people have told me about their rates. There are different themed rooms, so make sure to ask when booking what they have available. I had friends in the more modern rooms, which was really cool. Our room was more like an Italian villa, which we loved. Continental breakfast in the morning was great, although I don't remember any hot food. It was so relaxing to eat breakfast outside. What a nice surprise in Lodi!! I truly wish you could pick up Wine & Roses and move it somewhere else. read more

I have been to W & R many times for various reasons. My first experience was a wedding. Beautiful, outdoor wedding! Everything seemed perfect. I met with one of their wedding planners and was shocked by the price. For 100 guests, 12,000 minimum just for food! Needless to say, I did not get married there Their restaurant is cozy and charming. It is in an old (but renovated) farm house. The food is tasty and they service is great. However, once again highly priced. I went back last month to their Spa and LOVED IT! My fiance and I had a couples massage. It was the most relaxing experience ever. 90 minutes of attention that didn't require a word! We followed up the massage in the steam room and the hot tub. They also had a "tranquility" room with granola, water, tea, and a fireplace with blankets. I would go back weekly if I could! read more

We live so close can't believe never been on the grounds but have been there for dinner. It's so beautiful and well kept up. We spent a night for a wedding reception and stayed in their hotel. This review is for the restaurant. We came here on a Sunday at 11am for brunch with a large party. We had the entire small dining room to ourselves and even though the main part of the restaurant was also full, the service was quick and the servers were very friendly. Water and coffee were consistently refilled. The prices were awesome. I didn't give it the whole 5 stars because the food was just okay, the mimosa had way to much alcohol and barely any oj, and the view for a lot of us was a big tent out back. read more

Gift cards are not available on line so I phoned the main number and was immediately transferred to the spa; when I told the spa I wanted a restaurant gift card. For the holiday brunches: Some years ago W&R had a wonderful monthly and holiday brunch which they discontinued except for holidays such as Easter, Mother's Day, etc. They continued with their unique quality and assortment for a few years, but today, Easter 2015, was a big disappointment. For $55 a person there were two seafood appetizer choices, shrimp and farmed salmon when there had been many. There was no bread, just muffins. The omelettes were very thin at 1/4-1/2" even with everything put in. There was only one meat. The dessert selection consisted of 4 different types of 1" mini pastries. In prior years there were huge crowds trying to get in...not so much now (though it did just fill by the time we left). I'm not sure how they can recover from their menu decisions since those of us who experienced the brunch this year are unlikely to try again read more

I would give this place a 10 out of 5 if Yelp allowed it. My husband and I threw an anniversary party in the cellar room and Pati was our event coordinator. She was such a great help and 100% on top of everything the entire evening! She helped us set up our personal decorations; and ran interference with our families despite the 100 degree heat. She stayed positive and wonderful the entire time! The venue was absolutely beautiful, the servers were on top of everything and the bar tender was so fun and personable. I cannot say enough how much we loved our time here. We stayed in the hotel as well and their service for parties is just as wonderful as their service in room. We had a clogged toilet and the maintenance was on site in less than 5 minutes. The rooms were stunning. Went for Mother's Day brunch and for $65 it wasn't even close to what you would have expected. We have been there many times for brunch in the past years and there was a ton of food with fruit and more than one egg dish. We could have gone to a really nice sf brunch for the same price with an ocean view and ALOT more food! We won't be back to brunch and I have a feeling a lot more people won't be back after Mother's Day brunch either. Extremely over-rated! I recently stayed in one of their suites and hosted an event at the hotel. The one star is for the servers during the event. The event planners revised the agreed upon setup without approval; opened bottles of sparkling wine without consumption of prior open bottles... and of course, all to increase the costs! My husband and I got married here on April 27th 2018 and it was nothing short of a dream. Between the way we were taken care of, the atmosphere, the food, the service, the hotel rooms, everything was impeccable. Our event coordinator, Megan, always went above and beyond with everything leading up to, and the day of the wedding. We are still getting compliments on how classy and beautiful our wedding was. THE RESTAURANT: I would've given a 5 star, but we were disappointed in dinner. It was way over priced and a very small amount of food. I don't mind boojie food, but we weren't prepared for this. I had the $23 Mary's chicken breast, and it came in the center of a narrow rectangular plate, which didn't even touch the 1/2" raised edges. It looked like a small thin flattened pigeon leg, with a small leg bone attached. It was browned on top, and was on top of a drizzle of bland brown gravy. There wasn't much flavor. I could've made better tenderized seared chicken breasts at home, adult size. To the right of the dwarf chicken breast was literally 1/4 cup of corn kernels, which was supposed to be a creamed style corn. It kind of tasted like they mixed canned cream corn with dried out corn kernels to hide the flavor. It's hard to mess up corn, unless it's dated, but this corn wasn't right. To the left of the pigeon leg was this potato fluff stuff in a small 1c ramekin, which deflated all the way down to 1/4 of an inch once I took a bite, and Ryan said that it wouldn't be enough for a baby starting on puréed solids. It was the only thing with flavor on my plate, and that was because of butter and cream. It might have been enough for a toddler, but not an adult who is hungry after a trip there and saving our appetites for dinner, check in, unpacking, showering, dressing for dinner, and walking over. Ryan had the prawn pasta, which came with 3 prawns, and the sauce looked like a quick mish mash of grape tomatoes, pearl onions, and huge chunks of garlic, and we weren't sure if the pasta was made fresh. The sauce was NOT a real slow simmered sauce that hits your palate and makes you close your eyes and say omg! It literally was very bland. His pasta barely filled the circle area at the center of his dish. He offered to let me taste his, and I was afraid to because he didn't have much to begin with. ($26) We were very disappointed because the food was bland, over priced, and way under portioned. We joked that we were going to have to make a run to jack in the box in a few hours, and we really had to do that because we were hungry lol. SMH! If you're not that hungry, and would rather drink many bottles of wine, then I suppose the dinner plates will appear amazing. I've been to booji restaurants, but at least got an adult portion. If your hungry, you will definitely be looking around on the floor thinking the waiter dropped 2/3 of your dinner somewhere along the way to your table. If you add appetizers (also small), soup, salad, and dessert, you might get satisfied, but will definitely have a $175-$200 bill - without wine. So eat before you go so you're not starving, or be sure to have something to eat for later. lol not kidding! Now, enough about the dining disappointment, and let's talk about the room, grounds, peacefulness, and satisfaction. The rest of our experience was WONDERFUL!!! Staff was very kind and helpful, our room was so comfortable, secluded, and peaceful. The bed was fluffy and we slept like angels. The room was roomy, with its own wine rack, fridge, coffee maker, and complimentary water. I love the tiling in the bathroom and deep tub! And I love that the bathroom was separate. It has all of the necessary amenities, from body wash to hair dryer, robes, iron, ironing board, and luggage rack. The tv channels were limited, but who's there to watch tv?! The rooms have their own patios/balcony, with tables and chairs, along with garden decor, and was very nice for smoking cigars and having a drink while relaxing. The pool and jacuzzi are made for relaxing in the sun and having a good soak before going to your room for a nice drink or nap. The grounds have beautiful and amazing large birds, and plenty of places to sit and enjoy the greenery. We love the rooms and grounds, and decided that this place is our getaway!! We will just dine elsewhere, and plan a little differently, like bring a picnic basket with fruit, cheeses, and breads. Although we don't drink alcohol, we love the winery ambiance, and can appreciate the details. We will definitely be back!!!! read more

This place gets marketed to death like it's a secluded oasis that just happened to be "near" Lodi. It's dead in the middle of Lodi at a 4 way major intersection with well placed trees. It's a major event center and Lodi wine industry visitors center. This is not seclusion in any way. Visit on the weekend and you are doomed to be subjected to the self involvement and stupidity of throngs of people attending a wedding or tasting Lodi wine and trying to not be too pissed off that they didn't drive the rest of the 90 minutes to Napa. The spa on premises is rough. They try really really hard to do the right thing but fail a lot. Note- Whats the deal with the granola? Is it pushed super crazy on the patrons because it's the only natural snack you could think of? Visit the tranquility room. The CLING CLANG CLING of the glass granola container and the CRUNCH CRUNCH MUNCH in people faces eating it is not tranquil in an advertised "quiet space". It's almost humorous to see these folks (employees as well...quite professional) chomping this stuff down like it cures cancer. IT"S GRANOLA FOLKS! The massages receive were average at best. One of the massage therapist I am convinced was a receptionist they threw in there because they under staffed. She had no idea what she was doing. Peaceful? No. As we were massaged the screams and thumping bass of a wedding reception pounded through the wall into the therapy room making it far less than a desirable environment to enjoy any relaxation. You go try to get a massage to "Celebration Time C'Mon", I double dare you. It's always fun to have the spa cleaning person slamming every cabinet door possible as they rifle through locker rooms like they are packing to leave an abusive spouse before they get home. From asking the Inn front desk clerk for directions and having the person unwilling to look up from their desk as they give them to being rushed out of the spa 15 minutes before closing time....I can see why Lodi thinks it's great....it's Lodi. But it's not up to par for the rest of Northern California. read more

We booked a last minute getaway through Living Social which was advertised as "romantic getaway for two." I was really excited for a getaway in a town where the wine industry is at its infancy but I have to say we were pretty disappointed by our experience at the hotel and regrettably we won't be coming back. The Premises/Cost: The hotel's premises were very nice, but we were surprised to find that it was located on a busy intersection with a pretty loud road that borders their pool premises. The staff at the hotel were friendly, unfortunately our $173 "deal" ended up running over $200 with various resort fees, taxes etc. and after our experience here, we really felt it wasn't worth the money. Our Experience: Unfortunately for us, the days we stayed there there was about ten children running around the pool screaming "cannon-ball" and "godzilla." We came from San Francisco, to a place called "WINE AND ROSES," I could not figure out why anyone would come to stay here with children and treat the hotel like it was Chuck E Cheese resort. To make matters worse, the pool echoes so even when we retreated to our room we could still hear the screaming. Next, at about 3:30 in the morning a loud truck pulled up to our window and people began to shout. We called the front desk and instead of doing anything about this they cheerfully responded "Oh yes, some guests from Ireland JUST arrived!" Great, thank you for checking in some guests directly below us at 3:30 in the morning. At 8:30 AM, while still trying to have a getaway experience by sleeping in, the housekeeping obnoxiously knocked on our door non-stop. We opened the door and told them that we were still sleeping. The housekeeper then proceeded to ask us what time we would be checking out. Are you kidding me? I'd like to ask, what kind of a hotel advertises a "romantic getaway" and then proceeds to have housekeeping knock on doors at 8:30 in the morning asking when we are going to leave. The Positive: To be fair with this review, I do want to summarize some positive aspects of the experience. The room itself was very nice, very clean, and looked like it was recently renovated. In addition, they offer a free bottle of wine upon arrival. Also, there is a Visitor Center near the front desk which offers really great wine tastings has very friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately though, the positives do not in any way redeem my opinion. We will not be coming back. read more

My fiance and I tried to book our wedding there last summer for a wedding in Sept 2012 but they told us they couldn't book more than 16 months in advance so we waited. When I called them in February 2011, they told me that 1) our date was taken and 2) they've been booking for months. We tried to take another date but it was difficult. No one would answer the phone or reply to our emails. When we finally go the contract, no one was willing to talk with us. They basically said drop off your money and contract. For the restaurant only which is actually called Towne House Restaurant at Wine and Roses. 4 stars for the setting/ambiance, 3 stars for the food. Pricey for what you get. You are paying for the only restaurant in town that offers the upscale atmosphere. They have both indoor dining room and patio seating. We've always opted for the patio seating under wisteria vines with a view of their well-groomed garden. Came around June 2013 for brunch. Breakfast prices $14-18 for omelettes, pancakes, or scrambles. They have Eggs Benedict ($18) on the menu and I inquired if they offer an variations on the old favorite. Our server replied, "Like what?"....LIke what? I've never been to a restaurant presented as an upscale experience, with this pricing level, and with the Chef's name printed on the menu and had a server not know firstly any eggs benedict variations or secondly if they even offer any. I replied with crabcake and florentine variations, literally explaining to him how to make the latter. After hesitating, our server inquired the chef and replied that they could make the Eggs Florentine. The dish arrived as the typical duo with a very small portion of hash browns. The eggs were under-poached; the sauce was generous but very buttery. And the spinach oh my - it was the sorriest Eggs Florentine I've had. The spinach was a sauteed soggy mush lacking any flavor. Ah, I should have left it alone. But what kind restaurant has the arrogance to parade the chef's name on a menu as a badge of gourmet standard and not know of eggs benedict variations? More recently came here for dinner. My Grandma ordered the chicken with mashed potatoes. The chicken was juicy and tender; it was cooked perfectly with a pleasant, mild flavor. My brother's filet mignon was also cooked just to his liking with a twice-baked potato. I ordered the ahi tuna, seared with wasabi, served on mushroom risotto. The tuna was over-seared- it was practically cooked through! The hint of wasabi was barely detectable, hardly worth mentioning as a description for the dish. The entire entree was heavily-drizzled with a sweet, teriyaki-like sauce that just killed the whole flavor. The sauce overpowered any subtlety of flavors that might have been detectable without it. What a waste of $40! Service was decent. Polite and attentive. While the the seating outdoors is a more refreshing, pleasant environment, I find the wooden patio furniture somewhat uncomfortable. The grounds are beautiful: a welcoming, lush oasis in a dry town. My Grandma likes to come here for special brunches/dinners every once in awhile because of the atmosphere. That's the only reason why I'd come back to the restaurant. It's just not worth the price. read more

My nephew wedding was held here, it was beautiful. We stay there as well , comfortable beds, etc. only thing would recommend to the management is get some stepping stools for short or handicap people to get up into those tall comfy beds. I've neglected to write our review until everything settled down, but my husband and I got married at Wine & Roses in March. We were assisted by Stacey and Angela for the complete experience. Let me start by mentioning that I cannot say enough positive things about their team, they were amazing with us. But I will be honest, we didn't really shop around for a wedding venue, besides some online research. I kind of knew that W&R would work perfectly because of their location, their ambiance, and the fact that they would provide a stress free day by handling the set up and break down of our special day. You really cannot put a price on that. We did not have high hopes for the food, we figured it would be average wedding food, and it was. Unfortunately they did not offer us a tasting, so we had to choose what sounded good. (if you choose to have your cake created by their kitchen, you do actually get to taste, from what we read) If you decide to host drinks, even if you just put a specific amount towards the bar, like we did, don't waste it on the passed wine during your cocktail hour. Probably the worst choice we made, as by the time our guests were seated, our bar budget was blown. In regards to having access to their property, that was never a problem. I walked through with our florist, another time with my then fiancé, and that was no problem. We met with the staff at least 5 times, I emailed back and forth a lot and every time I was very happy with the response time and actions taken. We found the staff very helpful and polite, if we graded our whole experience from start to finish, we would give a B. Mainly because of service issues- that were not from their coordinating department. Immediately after we were seated at our reception I ordered a drink for my husband and myself, 10 minutes later we had yet to receive our beers. When a server walked by I asked about our drinks, minutes passed and another server told us that the beer I ordered was not chilled and I'd have to wait. We wish someone would have told us right away, honestly between this and the bar budget blown on wine, we were disappointed in the bar service. We also had multiple guests tell us that the banquet staff was not knowledgeable on simple questions that they had in regards to the food or venue. So maybe leadership was lacking a little there. I was also disappointed that one of our decorations was not set up properly, or in a timely manner. We also had an issue with billing, we asked to charge an extra room to our credit card so that we could host the Best Man and his wife. Somehow he was charged twice, and we were not charged at all. Luckily Angela handled this for us. One last note I will share is more of our fault- Our day flew by incredibly quickly. By the time that we felt like we could actually enjoy our reception, there was only 40 minutes left. We had read that it was $300 additional to add on an extra hour, so we decided last minute that we would do that. Come to find out it is $300 if you add it on prior to the wedding, the night of is $500 extra. We didn't read the fine print. We were disappointed by this, and really at this point $500 extra didn't sound like a lot of money- but my "misplaced" W&R gift card already had us out a gifted $100, and we were not about to spend another cent. I would recommend W&R to any bride, we really did have a beautiful day, but our reception expectations were not surpassed. read more

Came for a getaway weekend with the wife. Had the junior suite above the restaurant and was pretty impressed. We had a hot tub in our room (not bathroom, in our room) and a nice balcony. Had wine and oils awaiting us when we arrived for a very late check in. Spa service was good, as we spent 3 days just getting massages and facials.
