First this is a very attractive place to stay. The rooms are spacious and come with a fireplace and balcony to relax on. The bathrooms are big and the beds are so comfortable. It's in the heart of the wineries. So just minutes up the road and you can enjoy great wineries. It's a nice little retreat with a spa and wine tasting room on the premises. They also have a restaurant for dining. So far we have had an amazing time and love all the amenities. Recommend for couples. read more

This was my first visit to the restaurant at Wine & Roses since Appellation Hospitality took over. My friends and I have come here for special occasions over the years--most recently in September 2024 for a birthday celebration. Tonight, we returned for another birthday, but the experience was nothing like before. We arrived at 6:10 PM for our 6:15 reservation. Upon entering, the hostess walked right past us with another party, without so much as a "I'll be right with you." Another employee eventually asked if we'd been helped; when we said no, she said she'd find someone. We were finally seated, and our server, Monica, was the bright spot--attentive, friendly, and kept us updated on our food. That food, however, took nearly an hour to arrive, and we watched several tables who were seated after us receive their meals first. When our dishes did come, they arrived in stages--the succotash and salmon first, then the pork chop and gnudi about seven minutes later. Worse, nearly everything was cold and overdone. Pork chop: Unevenly cooked--some parts dry and overcooked, others undercooked. The potato purée was gummy and overworked, though well-seasoned. Salmon: Overcooked and bland; I had to ask for salt and pepper just to add flavor. The corn velouté underneath was unpleasant--the corn kernels were dried out and rock-hard (I circled the pieces I had to spit out in the photo). The beans were burnt, not charred, and tasted bitter and inedible. The succotash was flavorless and had 1/2 cherry tomato poorly executed. Gnudi: The lobster was chewy and overcooked, and the dish was dry--it desperately needed a sauce and a bright note like lemon to bring it together. The only course that delivered was dessert. For the price, the quality was disappointing across the board. Needless to say, we'll be looking for a new spot for our future celebrations. read more

I'm going to start with the "good". I'm usually a pretty positive person so this part is pretty easy. The grounds were for the most part incredibly clean and beautiful to look at. Lush vegetation and plenty of seating outside to enjoy the quietness and serenity. Our room was clean and in order with no issues with regard to cleanliness and maintenance. Now for the not so good. Our reservation was for a standard king room with the added "Spring Escape" package. Included was a $100 food voucher, and a "Chilled bottle of exquisite sparkling wine". We arrived at the property about an hour after check in. It was a little confusing as to where to go for check in because the property looks like an apartment complex. We eventually found where we thought the reception was. It kinda looked like a leasing office so it threw us off a little bit. We stood there in the lobby for a few minutes without so much as a peep from the two desk folk. So it was an awkward way to start our stay at this "resort". No sparkling wine so I figured it was in the room on ice. We then drove around the complex to apartment...I mean room 43. There was no sparkling wine in the room or when we checked in so that was a let down. I'm dead serious when I say this place looks like an apartment complex. Check out was just fine and Byron was very courteous and comped us for the missed wine. So in closing I'd expect a little more from the "epitome of luxury", especially considering the total was $464.74 for the night with $100 food voucher which covered about the half the bill before tip. If the total price was $300-$350 we'd have been MUCH more satisfied. But since we all know they won't lower the cost of this place, I'd expect a great deal more for the money. read more

We stayed at the lovely Appellation Wine & Roses Spa Hotel during our time in Lodi. The grounds were beautiful (complete with two happy parrots in a beautiful large outdoor habitat) and the staff were all extraordinarily professional and kind, most especially the amazing Myra from Housekeeping! We were very impressed by how quickly and thoroughly Myra cleaned our room and how thoughtful she was in taking care of us! The café had great food and delicious coffee, and the bar at the restaurant was very cozy for evening drinks. We didn't have time to experience the Spa or the Tasting Room, but they looked wonderful. We happily give the Appellation Wine & Roses Spa Hotel 5 stars and hope to re-visit it the next time we need a luxurious holiday! read more

As a local resident I have been a customer of Wine and Roses for many years and have loved this place. I was hopeful recent changes with this business would be positive but thus far have been disappointed. Historically day passes for pool use have been available for purchase at a reasonable price. In the past two months I've inquired twice as to the purchase of pool passes and both times received the same information as to pricing ($45 per pool key during the week, $60 during the weekend, $25 on same day as spa services). With the heat and being heavily pregnant and having a 4 year old, being able to make use of the pool during the week has been a life saver. During our last visit on a Sunday, we anticipated paying the $60 for a pool key. However, we were charged per adult, result in paying $120 for use of the pool for the day. As this was contrary to what we had previously been told in terms of pricing as well as what we had previously paid, we asked to speak to the manager, who refused to come out of the back office and speak with us. I subsequently sent an email inquiry to verify prices and have not received a response. While the astronomical pool key prices means we will no longer being making use of the pool, I'm more disappointed by the lack of response from the management team. Wine and Roses has been such a special place for Lodi and its residents and it's very disheartening to have such a negative experience and lack of response. read more

This hotel is not worth the price. They consider themselves a "luxury" hotel but the rooms are basic at the level of a budget friendly hotel, not luxury. Bathrooms do not have luxury style vanity or storage. Toiletries are mediocre , again NOT luxury. This hotel is simply capitalizing on a winery concept and charging a hefty price for it. It needs to be re-catagorized as a boutique hotel at 3 star level. read more

I've been to Wine & Roses several times in the past for work meetings, but last month was the first time I actually had the opportunity to stay and check out the grounds. My coaches got me a gift certificate so I decided to use it for a one night staycation. Best decision I could have made! The grounds are just beautiful, so I took a few walks around throughout my stay, and also found a place to sit and read for a while. My room was next to the pool so I got to take advantage of the jacuzzi with ease as well. There are exotic birds in a few areas of the grounds that are really pretty (and quite chatty!) The staff was friendly and helpful, bed was comfortable and the stay was very enjoyable. I hope to have the opportunity to stay again! read more

I came back for my 3rd visit this year. And while I overall still had an amazing times. I definitely ran into some issues. 1. The booking system. I was told it can no longer keep my card on file. So I have to keep adding my info with each visit. Kind of an odd thing? 2. I was booked incorrectly. When I came in September I asked for another appointment with the same massage therapist (Thomas). The appointment was scheduled. But I never got a confirmation email. I ended up calling to confirm I had an appointment. And then when I came here over the weekend. My massage therapist wasn't Thomas. The massage therapist said it was booked as "Any male therapist" It was awkward. And not his fault. The therapist. Forgot his name but he was fantastic. We really enjoyed our stay at Wine and Roses Hotel. I am not sure when they changed their name to Appellation but this was our second stay within the past year. The service is on point and extremely attentive. The grounds are absolutely beautiful all throughout the year. Private and tranquil adorned with fruit trees and foliage. The have a garden and the campus is quite extensive. We like to get the suites located near the spa so that when booking a spa appointment we don't have to walk far. The pool is a distance away but it too is tranquil and secluded. The spa is extraordinary and allows for couples massages and couples spa treatments and you are granted 2 hours to enjoy the spa premises if you book a service. The cafe is also quite scrumptious with fresh bread, pastries etc. and assorted drinks. We tried the restaurant our last visit and the service was outstanding but they were under construction so we will attempt to try it again once on our next visit. The environment makes you feel as though you have escaped the hustle and bustle by just taking a short drive to this oasis especially if you are from the Bay Area. read more

Wine and Roses is an amazing hotel that started as a bed and breakfast in Lodi. It has whimsy and charm during all seasons and their food is incredible! They work hard to bring in the local community for food or wine nights alongside their cafe that people stop by for fun on any given day. Their spa is an escape from the every day and is surrounded by beauty. We have stayed here and felt cared for from our check-in to our checkout. But the most incredible moment was having our wedding in their Garden Ballroom! This is a stunning venue for weddings and they are LGBTQIA+ friendly and really made us feel seen and welcomed. We felt valued as people and as customers. For us, it felt like they went above and beyond to take care of us all the way through our wedding day! Our Wedding Coordinator, Colleen, was a miracle worker through all of the ups and downs of event planning. She continued to support us and lift us up through each moment. Used to love this place but not much to offer the customers. They have a tranquility room the fire place wasn't on so it didn't set a mood. They offer inside there hot tea ,granola , and fresh apples. There is a cold plunge that wasn't that cold and a hot tub and a firepit outside. They don't offer any wine or champagne or any appetizers only complimentary water to stay hydrated. However our masseuse was amazing they did a wonderful job!!! just know they only give you two hours there, after or before massage to enjoy the facility but even then that may seem long since not much to enjoy here. I've come here a few times for weddings and for the spa, but this was my first time eating here at the restaurant. We came to celebrate a bridal shower and loved our set up as well as live music. We all ordered the pink dragon cocktail and loved it so much, we ordered a second round. I ordered the steak & eggs and my daughter got the waffles. I had contacted wine and rose's spa over a month ago to book 2 massages that are two months in advance. I was told by the staff member that she would call me back to confirm my appointment. I never received a call. I decided to check in to see if my booking was confirmed and the staff member told me that it wasn't and they did not have availability with what I was looking for. Instead, she tried to book me for a facial and a massage and not two massages. I told the staff member that I would have to book with someone else because this was for a milestone birthday. The newly rebranded Åppelation Wine and roses hotel is very conveniently located within the heart of Lodi wine county. This is one of the only lodging options in the direct vicinity. The gardens, event sites (wedding or event rooms/gardens), pool and fitness center are quite nice. There are even a few resident exotic birds that live on site. The hotel room itself is pleasantly appointed. The reason I give four stars instead of five is because the pillows are terribly uncomfortable (synthetic soft or lumpy options). Also because of the plantation shutters: while very beautiful, do not block out the light adequately. My advice if you're staying here is to bring your own pillow and maybe an eye mask. Our room had a lovely balcony with a 12 foot high bird of paradise and butterfly bush that offered security and great ambiance. The price is quite steep to stay here but we went on on off-day so more reasonable. read more

I had a massage and facial that were very nice. The only reason for my 3-star rating is I talked with my massage therapist about how I wanted a very deep, intense massage. She gave me a very light massage. I left wanting something more.... She was a sweet person, I just felt like she didn't listen to me. My facial isn't though, WOW! She was incredible! My skin was like butter when I left. Definitely felt the luxury of Wine & Roses during this experience. The tranquility room is very relaxing. They offer fresh made granola, hot tea and plenty of lounge chairs to relax in. I also enjoyed being able to soak in the hot spa and then sauna, followed up by a private shower before leaving. Would definitely recommend coming here, just making sure to have a massage therapist that listens. read more

My sister booked me a spa day at wine and roses for my birthday. She booked a facial (which are pretty pricey!) and a massage (so worth it) The premises itself is stunning! So relaxing and clean. We checked in and the receptionist guided us to the bathroom. Again so clean! The bathroom has everything you could need, a hair dryer, shavers, hair covers, sandals. Bathrobes, showers. A steam room, facial wipes. Etc etc We were given a locker to lock up our items. And then we were able to walk around the premises until our Aesthetician's for our facials came and found us! They have water stations with cucumber at a lot of corners. Cold towels. They also have a cold plunge pool and a jacuzzi. The size is pretty small! You can just dip your feet in if you wish - it's outdoors as well. They also have a tranquility room where there is again cucumber water. Hot tea, granola to munch on! Tons of seating and a fire going They also have a bonfire type with seating outdoors as well. I had Hannah as my facial person and she was lovely. She asked me about skin care routine. Any allergies. Really covered all the bases and she had such a soft and gentle touch. I had gotten the custom facial so she focused more on hydration and some very small extractions as I had asked of nothing crazy due to my wedding being next week. She did such a great job on massaging my feet and my hands! The only thing about the facials was. The face wasn't really massaged.. it was more of put on product. Let it sit and wipe off But everything else was lovely and Hannah was great! Then my sister. My cousin and I all had massages booked together. They escorted us into a room together. I had Cara and hands down she was wonderful!! She followed my request of light pressure and she just did such a great job. I even fell asleep for some parts of it. Will definitely book again for the ambience and the massage. Might skip out on the facials as they are pretty pricey Now The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because of the receptionist. When we were paying, I gave my tip in cash and when I told her how much. She legit hesitated and you could clearly tell from her face that she was shocked or displeased, idk, with the amount of tip I'm giving. Paying over $500 for services as it is. You cannot expect your customers to give 200$ in tips or whatever the amount be may that is suitable in their eyes. It is not required to give tips. So please be thankful for whatever amount is given by your customers. It made me feel not so great upon leaving. But 5/5 for Cara and Hannah. She recommended that we book Dinner before we head to the pool which worked out amazing because the restaurant got super crowded after 6 pm. Pool was small very fun!! Really beautiful setup. Because of renovation they weren't taking orders at the pool but we just drove to cafe and brough our food at the pool. The restaurant was beyond amazing!!!! EXCELLENT Customer service! Came here for brunch with family to celebrate a special occasion, we had a reservation for about 20 people. While the atmosphere was beautiful, the food and service were really disappointing. A relative ordered the steak and eggs, which was listed at $24 on the menu, but we were shocked to see it charged as $36 on the bill. For that price, we expected a decent portion, but it came out with literally five tiny slices of steak.. honestly felt like a joke. Several of us got the eggs Benedict, and we weren't told it was vegetarian (no Canadian Bacon / meat). We had to ask for meat to be added to it. Unfortunately the yolk was cold and gelatinous by the time the meal arrived. Since it was a large group, plates came out in pairs, so some people got hot meals while others (like us) got lukewarm ones. Overall, really underwhelming and not worth the money. I had fans made for the ceremony so ppl can see the schedule / fan themself I made them and paid for the prints $300 She did not put those on the chairs.. I had to throw them away! Waist of money on prints: material! And People asked for them.. my wedding party didn't even see them.. she said they were out there but they were not! They were in the same box I gave them to her and arranged the way I had them.. it just sucks a waist of money on my end! I wish she would have asked for help... if she needed it.. I had buffet style and the servers took away the food and didn't allow for seconds.. after I paid for all that food... and they don't allow you to take the left overs home.. so not sure what they did with it.. my aunt saw them take it away and a few ppl Asked for seconds they said no! A full thing of chicken they took away! I had a big cake! I said my friend would cut it! And I wanted it cut in the reception area as Colleen said they will cut it in the back.. they cut all 3 tiers it was past 9 om ppl were already starting to leave! I know that cake couldn't have been gone.. not sure where it went!! They even put it at tables that left with empty seats! So a waist of cake! And they didn't give me my top tier!!! They cut it.. so a $660 with 138 ppl should have had left overs.. and they only gave me 3 slices.. I was bummed to see they waisted the cake.. Also I gave Colleen the seating chart of where the people should sit and it was reversed from what I had.. right side should have been my side left side his side.. that didn't happen.. It took them a day to find my cutting knife.. I'm not going to drive 40 min for it... I'm the end I had a beautiful wedding! We love the venue! Ok... after having many banquets at Wine & Roses, I'm at the Cafe and ordered a simple caramel macchioto and buttered croissant at 12:19 pm. My butter croissant came out warm and its now 12:30 pm, with NO COFFEE and my butter croissant is now COLD. How long does it take to get my coffee and why is the coffee barrister just standing and yakking? I asked Andrew where my coffee was and GUESS WHAT?!? The empty cup was just sitting on the counter! Andrew said he'll make it and bring it out to me. I told him where I was sitting and went back to wait. Editing my review - it's now 12:35 pm. and still NO COFFEE! I went in and asked as to the status. By now I'm getting quite irritated. Editing my review again - it's now 12:45 pm and I decided to get my money back. Evidently, my coffee was just sitting on the counter AFTER I LET ANDREW know that I was sitting in the terrace area. You know what? He said he forgot!!! And the Cafe wasn't that busy! I think Andrew was too busy flirting to remember his job. I spoke with the manager, Ryan Campbell, and told him of my irritation of waiting and waiting over 20 minutes for a small cup of coffee. We live in Lake Tahoe and cannot get over 80 because of a big snowstorm! We called to cancel reservation and we were quite surprised when we were told we cannot cancel we can reschedule or we can get a refund on 1/2 of our payment! I came w/my family for their Mother's Day brunch. Thankfully we reserved indoors b/c it was a bit warm this day. We were greeted to a mimosa while we waited to be seated. I think one of the staff serving the mimosas could've been a bit more selective with her words when I asked for just orange juice. My husband got a mimosa and when she handed me my glass, I confirmed w/her "this is the orange juice, right?" and she said, "yes" **handed me my glass.** Then she goes, "THIS is the good stuff" and chuckled, **proceeded to hand my husband his mimosa.** Why someone chooses not to drink is a personal decision. It shouldn't be questioned and it's best to not make any comments like this. I would expect any establishment, especially wine & roses to be cognizant of this. A lady guided us to our table and explained where everything was. The only thing she got wrong was when she said that our server would be w/us to take our drink order. Well we waited and waited for someone to come. Servers kept passing us by and I was all like, how come no one is stopping. I asked one of the staff walking around who informed us it was all self-serve. Sooo, we waited for nothing. He was kind though and asked what we wanted. He got us coffee, which he then pointed where it was, self-serve. I think the lady forgot to point out the coffee station. The food was plentiful. They had a prime rib station, pork loin station, and an omelet station outside w/grilled oysters. The line was a bit long, which I didn't like and then waited in the sun, b/c everyone was in the same line and then you had to split off to which station you wanted. I don't know if there's a better way the line situation could've been handled, but that just tells you how popular they were! I visited the prime rib 2x, oysters too. The oysters were quite small and I had to come back b/c they weren't ready yet or someone had came and got a bunch. boo. my sis didn't get any when she went b/c they weren't ready yet, so when I finally got some, I got some for her too. The chef who made my omelet was friendly and kind. The pan looked small but I was so wrong b/c that thing was huge once it was on my plate. Inside they had a variety of salads and chicken and other hot items. I didn't try them. My husband came back w/a couple dessert items and said that was all that was left. I was like WHAAAT???? It's the attention to detail! My friend and I came here yesterday to get wellness massages. We've requested a couples room, cause her and I wanted to be together. From the reception to the complimentary lime and lemon infused water at the end, our experience was superb and memorable!!! Let's start off with the women's locker room. Everything you need was provided! Even to the complimentary comb! All the amenities that you would get in a hotel room was provided! They even have a women's steam room! They also have showers if you need it. Before the massages, we were provided with a robe and slippers. You store all your belongings inside the locker. Then you walked over to your designated room. They even have a robe warmer for you to hang your robe on! I had Jennifer as my masseuse. She asked if there were any areas that she should pay attention to. I've told her my lower back due to sciatica. She did such an awesome job targeting that area, I felt so much better afterwards! I felt so relaxed the entire time! The couples room was so peaceful and tranquil. After our massages, we've headed to their relaxation room where they had provided some granola mix to recharge you and more refreshing water. They even have a fireplace! We then noticed their jacuzzi and an outdoor steam room, which was included with our massages. My friend and I didn't know and was unprepared without a swimsuit. But, next visit we will absolutely take advantage of all the amenities that this place has to offer. It was totally worth our trip! I am a satisfied customer!!! read more

Stayed here as a staycation and we are absolutely impressed by the beauty of this hotel. This hotel is a popular wedding venue area, as it has plenty of beautiful rooms available for guests. My favorite part was walking though the beautiful gardens and spending time in the tranquil pool and jacuzzi area. We went in May 2024, so we were so pleased with how beautiful this place is. I wish I had taken a photo of the hotel space, but it is very spacious, clean, and well kept. There is a restaurant area as well as a spa area where you can get massages etc done as well. If you're looking for a beautiful place to relax or celebrate a special occasion with a loved one, I'd 10/10 recommend Wine and Roses. read more

Room is just ok. Basic with nice bed. Food was very fancy and servings were small. Their "shareable" could feed just one person. Sea bass was good. Wagyu steak was just ok. For the price I guess I expected a little better. Food did not have very much flavor. Lack of seasoning for sure. This is a one and done place for us. Great rooms, bathrooms were beyond ice cold. No heat into bathrooms. Wonderful staff. No breakfast on site. Need to go to Maison Lodi to eat breakfast. Short walk. Very limited food for breakfast. Good but " take away type". Nice staff.As a top end hotel they need onsite breakfast and lunch for sit down. Going to a take away for food was really a shortcoming. Was here 9 years ago before the change in ownership. Big difference. Spent New Years Eve here again. Not next year. read more
