enjoying wine on our patio, looking out into the gardens
    Tara S S.

We still live in the area and came down for a visit and always wanted to stay here. The grounds are immaculate. Nice gardens to stroll through. They have beautiful macaws and cockatoos and cockatiels in various cages on the property. I've been to their spa in the past and it's awesome. The restaurants are nice. Our room was very spacious and clean.

I've been to Wine & Roses several times in the past for work meetings, but last month was the first time I actually had the opportunity to stay and check out the grounds. My coaches got me a gift certificate so I decided to use it for a one night staycation. Best decision I could have made! The grounds are just beautiful, so I took a few walks around throughout my stay, and also found a place to sit and read for a while. My room was next to the pool so I got to take advantage of the jacuzzi with ease as well. There are exotic birds in a few areas of the grounds that are really pretty (and quite chatty!) The staff was friendly and helpful, bed was comfortable and the stay was very enjoyable. I hope to have the opportunity to stay again!

I came back for my 3rd visit this year. And while I overall still had an amazing times. I definitely ran into some issues. 1. The booking system. I was told it can no longer keep my card on file. So I have to keep adding my info with each visit. Kind of an odd thing? 2. I was booked incorrectly. When I came in September I asked for another appointment with the same massage therapist (Thomas). The appointment was scheduled. But I never got a confirmation email. I ended up calling to confirm I had an appointment. And then when I came here over the weekend. My massage therapist wasn't Thomas. The massage therapist said it was booked as "Any male therapist" It was awkward. And not his fault. The therapist. Forgot his name but he was fantastic. Amazing experience. It was just disappointing to not get what I had originally wanted.

We really enjoyed our stay at Wine and Roses Hotel. I am not sure when they changed their name to Appellation but this was our second stay within the past year. The service is on point and extremely attentive. The grounds are absolutely beautiful all throughout the year. Private and tranquil adorned with fruit trees and foliage. The have a garden and the campus is quite extensive. We like to get the suites located near the spa so that when booking a spa appointment we don't have to walk far. The pool is a distance away but it too is tranquil and secluded. The spa is extraordinary and allows for couples massages and couples spa treatments and you are granted 2 hours to enjoy the spa premises if you book a service. The cafe is also quite scrumptious with fresh bread, pastries etc. and assorted drinks. We tried the restaurant our last visit and the service was outstanding but they were under construction so we will attempt to try it again once on our next visit. The environment makes you feel as though you have escaped the hustle and bustle by just taking a short drive to this oasis especially if you are from the Bay Area.

Wine and Roses is an amazing hotel that started as a bed and breakfast in Lodi. It has whimsy and charm during all seasons and their food is incredible! They work hard to bring in the local community for food or wine nights alongside their cafe that people stop by for fun on any given day. Their spa is an escape from the every day and is surrounded by beauty. We have stayed here and felt cared for from our check-in to our checkout. But the most incredible moment was having our wedding in their Garden Ballroom! This is a stunning venue for weddings and they are LGBTQIA+ friendly and really made us feel seen and welcomed. We felt valued as people and as customers. For us, it felt like they went above and beyond to take care of us all the way through our wedding day! Our Wedding Coordinator, Colleen, was a miracle worker through all of the ups and downs of event planning. She continued to support us and lift us up through each moment. We are beyond grateful for her guidance in making our vision and dream come true!

Used to love this place but not much to offer the customers. They have a tranquility room the fire place wasn't on so it didn't set a mood. They offer inside there hot tea ,granola , and fresh apples. There is a cold plunge that wasn't that cold and a hot tub and a firepit outside. They don't offer any wine or champagne or any appetizers only complimentary water to stay hydrated. However our masseuse was amazing they did a wonderful job!!! just know they only give you two hours there, after or before massage to enjoy the facility but even then that may seem long since not much to enjoy here. Nice clean showers!

I've come here a few times for weddings and for the spa, but this was my first time eating here at the restaurant. We came to celebrate a bridal shower and loved our set up as well as live music. We all ordered the pink dragon cocktail and loved it so much, we ordered a second round. I ordered the steak & eggs and my daughter got the waffles. To my surprise, the waffle from the kid's menu was like an adult portion. Not complaining at all because I knew I was gonna help her eat it anyway. The steak & eggs were delicious as well! Our waiter and waitress were amazing! I would definitely return to enjoy other things!

The newly rebranded Åppelation Wine and roses hotel is very conveniently located within the heart of Lodi wine county. This is one of the only lodging options in the direct vicinity. The gardens, event sites (wedding or event rooms/gardens), pool and fitness center are quite nice. There are even a few resident exotic birds that live on site. The hotel room itself is pleasantly appointed. The reason I give four stars instead of five is because the pillows are terribly uncomfortable (synthetic soft or lumpy options). Also because of the plantation shutters: while very beautiful, do not block out the light adequately. My advice if you're staying here is to bring your own pillow and maybe an eye mask. Our room had a lovely balcony with a 12 foot high bird of paradise and butterfly bush that offered security and great ambiance. The price is quite steep to stay here but we went on on off-day so more reasonable.

Great ambiance. Quiet and peaceful outdoors our nice and cozy seating inside. Service was fun. The Stone Fruit Parfait was OMG so good! and I happen to love Zucchini bread this place made a tasty one. Eggs Benedict was so good I didn't leave any for anyone else to try lol. Honorable mention to the French Martini it was so good I ordered another before I was done! HA! ((smile)) Respectfully Reviewed.

I went here to celebrate my birthday for brunch. I enjoyed 2 drinks and a steak and egg meal. The ambiance is nice and elegant. The yogurt they give with the banana nut bread was to die for. My birthday bread pudding was also so amazing.

My sister booked me a spa day at wine and roses for my birthday. She booked a facial (which are pretty pricey!) and a massage (so worth it) The premises itself is stunning! So relaxing and clean. We checked in and the receptionist guided us to the bathroom. Again so clean! The bathroom has everything you could need, a hair dryer, shavers, hair covers, sandals. Bathrobes, showers. A steam room, facial wipes. Etc etc We were given a locker to lock up our items. And then we were able to walk around the premises until our Aesthetician's for our facials came and found us! They have water stations with cucumber at a lot of corners. Cold towels. They also have a cold plunge pool and a jacuzzi. The size is pretty small! You can just dip your feet in if you wish - it's outdoors as well. They also have a tranquility room where there is again cucumber water. Hot tea, granola to munch on! Tons of seating and a fire going They also have a bonfire type with seating outdoors as well. I had Hannah as my facial person and she was lovely. She asked me about skin care routine. Any allergies. Really covered all the bases and she had such a soft and gentle touch. I had gotten the custom facial so she focused more on hydration and some very small extractions as I had asked of nothing crazy due to my wedding being next week. She did such a great job on massaging my feet and my hands! The only thing about the facials was. The face wasn't really massaged.. it was more of put on product. Let it sit and wipe off But everything else was lovely and Hannah was great! Then my sister. My cousin and I all had massages booked together. They escorted us into a room together. I had Cara and hands down she was wonderful!! She followed my request of light pressure and she just did such a great job. I even fell asleep for some parts of it. Will definitely book again for the ambience and the massage. Might skip out on the facials as they are pretty pricey Now The only reason I am giving 4 stars is because of the receptionist. When we were paying, I gave my tip in cash and when I told her how much. She legit hesitated and you could clearly tell from her face that she was shocked or displeased, idk, with the amount of tip I'm giving. Paying over $500 for services as it is. You cannot expect your customers to give 200$ in tips or whatever the amount be may that is suitable in their eyes. It is not required to give tips. So please be thankful for whatever amount is given by your customers. It made me feel not so great upon leaving. But 5/5 for Cara and Hannah. Thank you for making my birthday amazing 5/5 for cleanliness. Vibes. Ambience. 2/5 for the receptionist who checked us out.

My girlfriends and I make sure to pamper ourselves with brunch and a spa day, a couple of times per year at this establishment. After enjoying brunch in the morning, we head over to the spa to enjoy all the amenities prior to our scheduled services (massages/facials, etc.). There's a coffee shop onsite as well that you can enjoy. I highly recommend this place for couples, friends, or as a solo session. I always leave so relaxed.

There is no breakfast provided but the rooms have a full kitchen with necessary pot and silverware and a full size fridge with freezer. The room that my husband, our little girl and I stayed in was quite spacious with a large enough bathroom. I liked that there was Dove branded shower wash, shampoo and conditioner available in the shower stall (and also a Dove branded hand soap dispenser by the sink). The only thing I don't like about the bathroom is that the door closes automatically and would prefer not to have to reopen it every time I need to go into the bathroom (but that is minor and am sure others would not find this annoying). Service from employees that I have interacted with the employees here are friendly. There is a small gym on site that has a water dispenser available and disinfectant wipes made available. Outside on the back side of the hotel are grills with a nice covered seating area. There is a also a poop bag dispenser for those walking their pups. Overall, we had a comfortable stay and most likely will stay at this location again when staying in Lodi (which is pretty regularly).

So, I check into the Holiday Inn Express here in Lodi. I usually always stay with IHG Holiday Inn Express cause I'm a platinum member with all my travel I do. After I reported the problem, I was assigned another room on the same floor. Everything seemed to be ok until the next morning when I noticed blood stains on the 2 sheets and the comforter. The blood stains where made by someone else and were not caught by the housekeeping dept. I reported the problem to the Front Desk. I gave enough detail information about the blood stains to the Front Desk attendant. She told me all the bedding would be changed. I also left a hand written note on the section of the bed where the stains were. When I came back in the after noon I noticed only one sheet had been changed leaving 2 other stained sheets. I went to talk to the (same) Front Desk female attendant she told me I needed to speak to the supervisor of the Housekeeping Dept. It turns out since my note was written in English, Housekeeping didn't know what the note said. What was irritating was that to only change one bed sheet, the other stained bedding had to have been noticed unless the person in Housekeeping was working in the dark with eyes closed to not have seen blood stains on the remaining bedding pieces. It all went back to the Front Desk clerk who did not follow through to ensure the supervisor of Housekeeping knew the extent of the problem since she did not speak English. I've written an email to Ivans to inform of what happened. However, I have not received an acknowledgement that my email was received. It would have been nice of the Front Desk clerk would've offered an apology for ruining my trip.

I was looking forward to a relaxing hot, or at least warm shower. The water ran for several minutes without getting any hotter even though it was turned all the way to the hottest setting. This place isn't that big. They should have plenty of hot water for all of the rooms. I've stayed at huge hotels in Las Vegas and the water got HOT. There's no excuse for this. The tub was also dirty/stained and the towels are a dingy white. We've only been here one night with one more night to go. If I didn't book via Southwest Hotels using points, I would be down stairs trying to get some sort of refund back and I would also leave and go stay in a different hotel. Another thing, all the power went off last night about 10pm as we were arriving back. It didn't come back on until this morning. I woke up at 6:11am to lights on in our room. This probably wasn't their fault as the power was off on entire street on both sides. Just giving a heads up to anyone who might want to stay here as I don't know how often this is an issue. EDIT: my husband just brought up a good point... the power was out for 8 hours so most likely this was a PLANNED power outage to do work around here. If that's the case, the hotel would have known about it and should have said such when we checked in. We are going down to talk to the front desk about it now. EDIT #2: we talked to the front desk... The girl admitted that it WAS a planned outage. Very unethical to not tell your patrons and continue taking their money to stay there knowing this was the case. The girl said she would have a manager call us. She also claimed it would not happen again. We were so miffed and didn't want to take the chance that we ended up leaving and renting a room elsewhere. I have since put it a claim with Southwest to get my points back and to not vouch for this place. By the way; I NEVER received a call from anyone at Best Western to try and rectify the issue.
