For HK$38.00 ( US$4.84 ) you get a pretty good size bowl of soup noodles filled with tender beef brisket, since the meat is still very moist as it was not over cooked it has a great texture and with a tiny bit of fat still on the meat, it makes it taste even better!! Sinful but good! The Mixed Meat Balls Noodles was ok, nothing special, will skip next time! The Baby Oyster Congee ( a staple in Chiu Chow cuisine ) was done very well, the oysters were super fresh and the umami of all the seafood blended perfectly together! This is my comfort food while in Hong Kong! All in all, this is a great place for authentic Chiu Chow Noodle and other goodies, next time will try their famous Marinated Goose and other dishes!! The 2cm thick pappardelle made with duck egg had the perfect texture. The al dente texture complimented the sauce well; it was coated with the slighty sweet soy sauce of the beef. The congee was unique since some type of leafy green vegetable was embedded into the rice porridge. As a result the congee had the flavor of the leafy green along with the savory flavors that are typical in congee. Our favorite item was the steamed turnip cake. We had several orders of that. Compared to those at other places this one was much lighter. Texture was smooth and it went really well with the slightly sweet soy sauce that covered it. We were amazed how it stayed together in a cube since it seemed to fall apart as soon as we tried to pick it up with our chopsticks. Service was average.
