This place has been sitting in my Yelp bookmarks for a loooong time and it was the closest thing I knew of when I was searching for something nice and cold in the area to cool off the sweat I was drenched in from April humidity. I got the Mango & Coconut Juice with Harsmar Jelly drink. I honestly didn't think it was spectacular or anything--if anything, it tasted like the crappy ones I can get at the HLS back home. A bit pricey for a drink (HKD $27) for Hong Kong standards...but standard pricing for the area. I also had the Mango & Aloe Jelly drink at the HLS in TST and it was also below average. Heavy and just overall sugar-loaded. I might've had anticipated too much and ended up disappointed, but I have also heard that the quality of HLS has deteriorated in the last few years. We don't have many drink variations at the mango places in NYC, but I honestly don't care for them now that I've tried a few different drinks. HLS is definitely more expensive in the busier parts of HK--I found the prices to be significantly cheaper as you go out further away. Might actually be worth paying the lower price and a trip to eat better-quality food.

The texture is rich, creamy, and smooth. This is the best bowl of the shop. Sweet Walnut Soup: The mild walnut flavor pairs nicely with bolder flavors. The menu is simple and they've got most of the must-haves at dessert shops. They have a minimum spend per person if you are dining in, so beware if your group has a person who doesn't do sweet soups. The worst thing (or best thing) that could happen is you eat one for them. The tongsui we ordered were all very basic and while they were delicious, I couldn't tell if they were better or higher quality ingredients compared to other shops across Hong Kong. If I were to be in the area and wanting tongsui, then sure why not. But I am unsure if I would purposely take the train and walk here.

The one that comes in the ginger soup is good too (for this dish, the balls have fillings inside, such as sesame or peanut sauce). Another good one is their sorbets, which are perfect for a hot day.

In summary, the watermelon and lychee were ok. The watermelon ended up being too watery for my taste and the lychee wasn't too memorable. Both tasted decent but definitely not a must try. For the durian, this was surprisingly good! I am normally not a durian fan (the stench gets to me sometime) but here, you couldn't really smell too much of the durian in the dish. The taste of durian was also soften quite a bit, making this dish a bit more doable for those who do not like durian. I found this dish to be pretty tasty and not too sweet and it was unique to eat it with the crystal seeds. Overall, this is a great spot to stop by for desserts. If you're not a fan of durian but can tolerate the smell of it wafting through the restaurant, this place is great to try other HK desserts at an affordable price.
