That's a great price, and I figure if even the food is awful, it's still not much more than two drinks. As others said, this place is somewhat a hidden gem. Its entrance is a narrow commercial building entrance on Nathan Road, right by Hillwood Road, closer to Jordan than TST. Located on the second floor, the big windows look out to verdant shades, totally blocking out the hustle and bustle outside. The price of afternoon tea has increased, but at HKD128, still a fair price if no longer a steal. We ordered flavored fresh-squeezed lemonades (or you can choose tea, coffee or soda), and our food arrived on a wooden board: two hamburger sliders, two salmon croissants, bacon wrapped asparagus, mac & cheese, BBQ fries and brownies. All is quite tasty except for the mac & cheese, which I find really bland. Applegreen bills itself as offering Californian cuisine. Their menu has lots of salad, and pasta ranging from carbonara to tequila lime chicken to mentaiko. There are also carne asado quesadilla, Jamaican chicken wings, jambalaya flatbread and more, just to show how international the menu is.

What I like the most about Applegreen is that they're not just a salad house. They have a pretty wide array of dishes and drinks on the menu. But of course, if you want to eat "healthier", they have plenty of salads to choose from. Most of their salad has "half" servings, which is actually misleading. Their half portion is enough for 2-3 people if you order it with a second or third dish. Their "full" serving of the salad is humongous. Probably more suited for 3-5 people. Just be warned! Also as a tip, if you order salad you can request FREE banana bread to go with it. For their other dishes, they have your typical pastas, but what I like is their Flatbreads. Think of it as a very thin crust pizza. Quite tasty and large in portion. They also have some more unique items from their varying breakfast menu, such as honey glazed bacon, eggs benedict, or other experimental items. As for their drinks, most of their tea-juices have unlimited refill! Surprisingly an uncommon thing in Hong Kong. Applegreen is moderately priced. Brown sugar milk tea with wheat: maybe it's because I'm unable to drink this stuff without getting sick, but my throat started to feel funky after two sips and the texture of the wheat made me feel uncomfortable to drink anymore. This place is known for its gigantic nigiri. I put my chopsticks next to the sushi so you can appreciate the size. The quality of the fish is average, but I think it's something about eating over-sized food that somehow gives us a satisfaction. Maybe it brings back, subconsciously, the happiness of childhood, when everything looked big to us. So biting a giant cookie, licking a giant lollipop, gives us a joy we don't get from eating regular sweets. Two giant salmon, slightly charred with blow torch, runs $38, so it's quite affordable, as you can likely get filled with six pieces or so. The sandwich true to its name does contain tuna and slices of boiled egg, but I think I may have overestimated how much I like tuna sandwiches or any kind. I tried their Jivara chocolate lime, which is another one of those less conventional cakes, where it's more mascarpone and curd than sponge. A coworker of mine joked that the cake looked a bit like a giant malteser, and I suppose she's right. It does, though it's resting in a chocolate shortcrust cup-shaped base (see attached photo). More recently, I've tried their mocha and Mille feuille. He mille feuille was wonderfully crisp, and the caramel, was whipped beautifully so it wasn't overly dense or sweet. That being said, it seems that I still don't know how to eat one properly, since I made a pretty grand mess of the pastry. Their mocha is good. It isn't very sweet, so it makes me feel a bit less guilty about eating a really sugary cake/pastry, but I like the latte more. I felt that the chocolate was to a certain extent masking the scent and flavour of the espresso, so I will probably stick to the latte from now on; to a certain extent I've often seen myself more as someone to enjoy more plain and subdued flavours like vanilla over stronger flavours like chocolate.

Quality-wise, I would say their sandwiches are not bad, comparable to Subway sandwiches, but their salads still have a long way to go. Like many places in Hong Kong, Studio Caffeine does not seem to have drip coffee available, so if you're just a plain black coffee drinker like me, you'll have to be okay with an Americano or a shot of espresso. My Americano was pretty good, though not the best, but the prices here are extremely reasonable so no complaints. As mentioned, the English breakfast comes in a few different varieties. I went with the "Classic," which consists of scrambled eggs, baked beans, toast, bacon, pork sausage, and salad. Each item was very good (and again, excellent value for the price, though I would have liked to see maybe a little more protein and a little less lettuce) and I left the restaurant feeling full and satisfied.
