An Nam always serves up good Vietnamese cuisine. Nice restaurant - super clean with nice decor, ali omg with excellent service makes this restaurant one of frequent visits in CWB. Located in Lee Garden 1 building - An Nam is on the 4th floor. As soon as you exit the elevator - you will their friendly hostess welcoming you. Then you will be seated promptly inside their nicely decorated restaurant. No seat is a bad seat in this restaurant... you can sit next to the atrium and have a view looking down the atrium, or enjoy one of their nice comfy booth seatings. My favorites here are their Vietnamese coffee, fragrant shrimp fried rice, or just a book of the classic beef noodle soup during the cooler autumn-winter days. Adding their fresh spring rolls and their papaya salad... always a good happy meal at An Nam. Their convenient location also makes it one of my favorite! After lunch or dinner here - you can walk around Times Square and CWB and/ or enjoy a cup of coffee at the vast selection of coffee shops nearby! Pictured are all my favorites! All dishes are delish here!

Came by for an afternoon tea the other day and it was a tasty experience. Afternoon tea starts at 3 pm! Ordered the afternoon tea set for $198 and it consisted of a delightful amount of snacks and finger foods! Quality was decent too! A few drink choices were included. Interestingly enough, their Vietnamese coffee was only available as hot?!?

Visited: Nov 26, 2018 While visiting Hong Kong, I met up with a friend (who happened to be in town at the exact same time) for lunch. Her sister is familiar with the area and recommend An Nam. We arrived at 11:30am and the restaurant was empty - it was a weekday and the lunch crowd probably hasn't shown up yet. When we sat down we were presented with the regular menu or set lunch menu. The lunch set seems to be the best bang for the buck. It comes with an appetizer, an entree and a complimentary lime soda for around $138 HKD (depending on what entree you order, it's +/-$10 or $20) My friend says her sister highly recommends the rice flan and I wanted to eat spring rolls so we ordered those too. The appetizer salad came and it was a good size bite. The pomelo salad was really refreshing and crispy and the steam rice roll with Vietnamese meat was quite flavourful! The spring rolls and the rice flan came at the same time. We were puzzled whether we ordered the right item because in Cantonese, the item translates to biscuit or cake so we were expecting something crispy. The rice flan tastes like a hard pudding and it has some crispy croutons and dried shrimp. It also came with a vinegar that you can put on top. The flan itself is flavourless so you need those toppings and sauce. I can't say I'm a fan, it was an interesting bite - glad that I tried it but will never order again. The spring rolls were great - lots of filling and a nice crispy outer shell. Our entrees came next and we were already pretty full but the show must go on. The flat rice noodle was tasty and most importantly, not oily. The flavour is good but it tastes like most Chinese stir fried flat noodles. The lemongrass pork was also tasty, the protein is nice and lean. We were given the option to make it a noodle soup for a surcharge but we declined and stayed with the dry noodles. Overall the food quality is high and the prices are not as affordable as most HK eats but you get what you pay for. Ordered: Deep fried spring roll Steamed rice flan Set lunch x 2 - Appetizer: rice paper rolls with shrimp and pork and side of Vietnamese green mango and papaya salad Entree #1: Flat rice noodle with chicken and shrimp Entree #2: Lemongrass Pork with vermicelli Drink: lime soda

We came for dinner last night and I must say this is one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Hong Kong.We didn't know what to expect but when we got there and the service was quite efficient and the waitress explained everything very well. Finally we decided on a few dishes. it was upper scale Vietnamese restaurant which meant it costed more but still fine because the ambience was nice. Overall the food was very tasty I specially like the spring rolls and this thing called the flan cake which came a little plates, it had something similar to croutons and had a little bit of dry shrimp. it was very tasty and it was fun to put together. everything was really delicious, my favorite were the lemongrass clams. They were as big as my bowl I'm not kidding you and the soup was to die for. I would have finished the whole thing all by myself. I would definitely come back and I can't wait to come back

Decent Vietnamese chain spot with consistent food quality. The menu has good selection of salad,…read morepho, bun, drinks and signature dishes. It comes with pictures so you kinda know what you are getting. The food comes out pretty fast and they are appropriately seasoned with Vietnamese spices. I didn't find a need to add fish sauce for my bun (vermicelli). The only downfall is tables are closely placed together to maximize square footage so you know if the next table couple is fighting or having a good time.

BÊP, you have a new devotee to add to your quickly-growing fan club…read more I recently met someone here for a business meeting, as BÊP was suggested as a great spot with its ideal central location on Wellington and plentiful seating. And come on - who doesn't like Vietnamese food? Not me. I'm in the full-on love camp. When I lived in Chicago, neither heavy rain nor snowpocalypse conditions could keep me away from my weekly bowl of pho or bánh mì. Some weeks, my favorite Viet spot saw me two or three times. I know, I know - I'm addicted. Well I'm happy to report that BÊP more than satisfies my craving for legitimately solid Vietnamese fare. Because I couldn't commit to just one item, I decided to go with the 2-course lunch set. For under 100 HKD, you get to try two ample-sized dishes and you can choose a drink as well (for an additional nominal fee). However, I didn't enjoy the lotus root Vietnamese iced tea... it had a very strong, bitter taste that I fought to get down. I later switched to the lime soda and enjoyed that beverage much more! For my first course, I had the mixed green and herb salad with crispy pork belly. Wow - I was surprised by the ample portion of pork belly and it was quite good. Perfectly crispy and not overly fatty. This is my dream version of pork belly; wish it tasted like this every time! By the time our second courses came around, I had already put a nice dent into my appetite. However, the bun vermicelli with lemongrass chicken instantly enticed. The chunks of chicken were plentiful and aesthetically beautiful. Really! And the dish tasted even better so it wasn't just another pretty face. We also decided to split the lone dessert option on the menu - xoi ngot, grilled sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves, pandan coconut sauce and roasted peanuts - but this ended up sounding more appealing that it actually tasted. Would be nice to see a few more dessert options on the menu. Still stoked to have found a great spot to indulge in Vietnamese cuisine on the regular. I'll soon be back for a bowl of pho tai now that temps are finally dropping!

You know those "hole in the wall" restaurants, describing a small run-down kinda restaurant or bar?…read moreUsually the ones with surprisingly good food? Well, in The Lotus' case, it is literally a hole in the wall. You order your takeout through a small window to the cashier, take your receipt, and go around to the doorway where a friendly woman is waiting with trays of food, a ladle, and a smile. No wonder I never noticed this place until a coworker pointed it out. Who knew you could get something that tastes so good through a hole? (Don't go there). To be fair, there is an actual fully functioning Vietnamese restaurant attached to the hole. But ain't nobody got time for that. There are tiny laminated Chinese take-out menus plastered on the wall. You can get 1) Rice with 2 Sides, 2) Chicken Rice (I think it's Hainan style), 3) Viet Vermicelli with selection of meat (e.g. chicken wing, pork chop, etc.). All of these are HKD $35, with the exception of one that is HKD $38. I couldn't really understand the rest of the menu, but I THINK it's HKD $5 for a drink. Extra rice and sauce for HKD $2. I've only ever gotten the rice with 2 sides. How do you know what kinda sides you want? You stand behind the woman in the doorway and look over her shoulder. Don't feel awkward, everyone does it. Sides are Cantonese style veggies and meats. I love the tomato and egg personally. You can also get a nice ladle of green curry on your rice or your meats. Just ask! WARNING: THE LADY THERE GIVES YOU A LOT OF FOOD. She's also extremely friendly, and can strike up a conversation with anyone...in Cantonese. Not sure how good her English is. I always ask for less rice and one time, she commented that I wasn't eating enough so she piled on one of the sides. It was awesome. She's like a lunch grandma. But don't take up too much time conversing, even if that's what you want to do. This is, after all, lunch time in rush city, and that queue behind you isn't getting any shorter. (40/100) - 2017

In a fit of hunger and because everything else was so crowded during lunch rush hour, I came here…read moreto have Vietnamese food instead of traditional Hong Kong food. Like most Chinese restaurants, the service was so bad, but that was to be expected -- any request was answered with a scowl, they took forever to take our order, and then it seemed like they forgot about my food because it came out 5-10 min after my friend's food, and we had to ask about it twice. I got grilled chicken and red rice, because I was trying to eat on the healthy side and avoid too many carbs (near impossible to do here in Hong Kong - I since learned my lesson). Apparently "grilled" here means fried and oily, because it was about the opposite of grilled and healthy. The piece of chicken was fairly small. I thought the red rice was going to be more similar to black rice, but it was a tomato-flavored rice. A decent, quick meal - I probably ordered wrong and should have stuck with pho or something else. It was fine - not somewhere I'd seek out again, but not somewhere I'd avoid either if I was hungry and in a rush. Each of the dishes were around $60 HKD, so it's a fairly inexpensive lunch and slightly nicer/cleaner than some of the other hole-in-the-wall places.
