Dessert Kitchen is a great place to come to for an after dinner dessert fix. I've only been here once, but I left feeling pretty impressed. Although this place is pretty big, it fills up fast and my friends and I had to line up for a table even when we were here on a weekday. Meanwhile, we pondered over what to order and seeing as they had probably the most extensive menu I've ever seen at a dessert cafe, this task did not prove easy!
I think it's safe to say that Dessert Kitchen makes every dessert under the sun. Waffles, pancakes, Taiwanese shaved ice, parfaits, sundaes, ice cream... the list goes on! Everything's available in a bunch of different flavors. The most common ones seem to be mango, strawberry, chocolate and green tea. I was debating between the green tea sundae and the chocolate Oreo sundae but eventually decided to go with the green tea. I can't help it - I adore anything matcha and whenever something on the menu is matcha, my heart yearns for it!
After about ten minutes, we were given a table and quickly placed our orders. Our desserts took longer to arrive than I had expected - well, my friends who had ordered other things like waffles and shaved ice got theirs faster than I did. Mine came in about ten minutes - the green tea ice cream was very smooth, but was a little lacking in green tea flavor. It went really well with the azuki (red bean paste) and the mochi though. I guess I expected a little more from the green tea ice cream, but I guess I've been spoiled by Via Tokyo, where the matcha soft serve is extremely flavored! My friends who ordered other things liked their desserts a lot though. One of them got the chocolate Taiwanese shaved ice, and it was so good!
Overall, there's such a huge selection of dessert here, I don't think I can NOT be back. Even though my green tea sundae was just okay and not that great, I'm excited to come back again and give the other desserts a chance! read more
