Oh, and there are some good bars around here as well, which is surprising for a place that isn't actually a touristy area.

REVIEWER # 2 For all…read morethe transportation's and subways in the bay area I would like to introduce you to Hong Kong MTR! Definitely take the time to take notes because the U.S.A can definitely learn something from this amazing, convenient and efficient transportation system in Hong Kong! Prine Edward seems to be the transfer station for Kwun Tong Line but also the station to get off if you are interested in doing some market shopping! Flower Market, Bird Market, Meat Market and Ladies market is located on this line! Very convenient and a short walking distance from each other! Make sure to exit B. This area also has some great food joints located nearby. Its also walking distance from the Mong Kok station as well! My first time visiting Hong Kong and I was able to go everywhere I needed by using the MTR. Never did I have to use a Taxi because the trains come every 2-3 mins and it opens super early and closes super late! Trains here are very convenient and easy to navigate, please note that during rush hours it does get crowded and people are crazy! Whoo. They push, tug and shove you to make sure they can get into the train. The signs and maps are all in English as well as Cantonese so it's really easy to get around on your own. The MTR seems to go all over the Hong Kong Island. There does seem to be a lot of walking when changing line so be prepared to walk. They are NOT lying when they say that Hong Kong has a huge population! There are people everywhere at ALL times of the day and night. So be prepared for the crowds and you may miss a train or two because of it being over crowded. Don't worry, they come very frequently! OCTOTPUS CARD: This was the BEST thing Hong Kong could have ever thought about! Get an Octopus Card as soon as you arrive and you will good after that! What is an Octopus Card you may ask? It's a card that you can store money and use on buses, trains and in convenient stores such as 7-Eleven! This saves you so much time during the boarding time. You purchase one during your stay in Hong Kong and before you depart you turn it back in and get your refunds of your deposit back when you return the card. (Not a bad deal!) TIPS FOR FIRST TIME RIDERS: When going up the escalator, walk on the left and stand on the right. This will help risk people motioning for you to move out the way and the risk of the displeasure of everyone behind you! I am happy to say that I have witnessed the most AMAZING transportation in the world! Hong Kong indeed has the BEST transportation! I definitely recommend for anyone coming here to take this rather than a Taxi! REVIEW 224/196

One of the many stations on the MTR system…read more I found this particular very effective for many reasons. Like going to one of the many shopping malls (New Town Plaza). It's where everyone goes to shop and eat when they get tired. Plenty of fast food options. There's of course an Apple store close to the station. I make sure to visit this station due to the shopping malls. I found it insane on a Sunday morning when people were walking quickly to their destination. Or getting to other stations in the system. Even to leave Hong Kong for the day to head up to Shenzhen.

I found this station to be very convenient. I would take a bus from Ma On Shan to Sha Tin so I could travel into the city. The train station entrance is close to the bus terminal so I could easily catch the next bus back to home base. The station is also located next to two malls, Citylink Plaza and New Town Plaza. Very convenient if you are trying to get a number of shopping errands done at once. As for the station itself, I didn't find it too hectic. It is far enough out of the city that it does not get too unruly. Though when you exit at this station, it can get crowded with people taking the same escalator up. If you can handle some walking, there is a staircase further down the platform that is hardly used. As a feeder station to other parts of the New Territories, I commend the great public planning done. Particularly how short the walking distance from Sha Tin Station to the malls and the bus terminal was.

Anybody living in Sha Tin would be all too familiar with the Sha Tin Central Bus Terminus. Situated…read moreright below New Town Plaza and the MTR station, this terminus has stops for dozens of buses bringing you to places all over the New Territories. You can take buses here to Kwai Chung, Tsuen Wan and Sai Kung, among many others. You can even get to Disneyland via the A42, and the airport via the E42! The terminus is split into four platforms - platforms 1-4. It doesn't matter if you don't find out beforehand which platform the bus you want to take is at, because there are arrows that that will point you to the right one. Plus, you can always have a quick scan over the bus stop signs yourself or ask the staff in the terminus office booth at the middle. Honestly, I hate waiting for a bus at the terminus during the summer. Like any other terminus, it's hot and the exhaust from buses starting and stopping only adds to the heat. The ventilation here is poor, making a ten-minute wait seem like an eternity. If you look at a line, pretty much every alternate, or every third person, is fanning themselves with a flyer or a newspaper of sorts. But there's no denying that this terminus is convenient - if you live nearby but not in the town central, you can take a bus or the train here. If you take the train, take the exit out New Town Plaza, head for the escalator and you'll be at the terminus already.
