I think the best dish out of all I had was the curried mixed vegetable plate. I wish other curry places could learn the recipe for it because this dish went fast at my table and it was really good. The sweet and sour "pork" (bean curds) wasn't bad, but the bean curds were deep fried to a crunchy consistency I'm guessing to resemble that crackling skin on top. The fried pumpkin didn't taste much like pumpkin if that's what it was. Could have been any melon as far as I could tell. Summary: This place is in the Nan Lian Garden Park and is part of a nunnery. To access this park, you must enter the park and best to make a reservation, but can accept walk ins if they are not busy. I'm not sure what the reason is for the $150 (HK dollars) minimum, but that could be a deterrent for those not sure about the food or for a smaller party of 3 or less. I'm guessing this is also to minimize waste as the ladies here will frown upon any wastage of dishes not eaten. The service was helpful and there is a beautiful view of dining behind a waterfall. Just keep in mind you are dining at a vegetarian spot so expect a variety of vegetables you may not have ever seen before and try before you say "no." There are a variety of options for drinks, but no alcohol. A bit pricey from what I've been told so be prepared for that. Otherwise, the garden itself is an absolutely beautiful place to visit and should be visited at least once in your life. Happy eating!!

We had a reservation in a big semi-private room.  We had a super large table that could accommodate our party of 15, though a little crowded, there was adequate room. And the room was nicely decorated. Service was good but not refined.  It was nice that our main female server happily took group photos for us. The most memorable was the very innovative and fun dim sum!  I could see that they put in a lot of care to create and craft those dim sum, which didn't only look attractive, but tasted excellent.  This was the first time that I ever had Deep-fried Turnip Cakes, which had a nice crunchy battered outside, and delicious mashed turnip inside.  The boar shaped glutinous dumplings and gold fish shaped shrimp dumplings were other examples of excellence in both form and taste. It's worth mentioning that there's a pet park on the rooftop of the building.  Unfortunately it was closed for a private event the day we were there. I highly recommend the Greater China Club if you are in Hong Kong.

First, you need a reservation. At some point they were a private club too, but I'm not entirely sure anymore. Upon arriving at the building, it might be a tad confusing since it's an industrial building refitted for retail spaces -- the elevator and lobby look a tad empty, and it might feel like the wrong place. But once you've arrived at the floor, it'd be clear there's a fancy schmancy restaurant here. We've always gone with one of the set menus that the waiters recommend. They've never disappointed -- the way the food is served, the service, and the flavours. They often like to use dry ice for dramatic effect, but even simple dishes are served in an orderly, beautiful manner. Their seafood dishes don't disappoint (the abalone!), but the star is always the dessert for me. The black sesame roll is melt-in-your-mouth goodness, and their various jellos are always on point with the flavouring - subtle yet fragrant. I found their dim sum service more pricey for the amount of food, and prefer their dinner service. The waitstaff is always fantastic, which is a rarity in Hong Kong sometimes. Overall, it's a place I'll definitely bring guests to for a taste of high end Cantonese food, as well as for family celebrations.
