Ok vegetarian restaurant in a great location. The park is a fantastic oasis worthy of the trip.

Vegetarians, this is a decent place to go to. This is a rather difficult place for me to review, with pros and cons. Pros - good place to bring a date, this restaurant is in the middle of a garden, similar to Boat House in Central Park NYC. You can take an after dinner stroll in the beautiful park. Two sides of the restaurant windows have waterfalls right outside the window. So if you get a window spot, it is spectacular. Cons - you must spend a minimum of $150 per person for dinner, slightly less for lunch, I think they are trying to target a specific crowd. The food is quite pricey We had four dishes for 2 people. We had the sweet and sour "pork", they don't actually say the meat name, but this is my favorite dish, quite flavorful and it's a big dish. Had the spring rolls, the spring roll skin was way too thick, the filling inside was way too little. Had the mei fun, expensive, did not taste good and was just ordinary mei fun, don't order this. Also had the sliced beef round, this was delicious also but was just an appetizer, so portions were small. You need to make a reservation, it got quite crowded.

As we wandered through the beautiful Nan Liam Garden, we stumbled upon a gorgeous, peaceful waterfall. When we realized that there was a RESTAURANT behind that waterfall, our lunch plans were decided. You can order a set lunch or a la carte (either way here is a $120 HKD minimum per person for lunch). The set menu didn't come to our table until we had already decided what we wanted from the a la carte menu, but you can choose from 4 or 5 course menus and depending as well on the number people in your party. We started with some dim sum - fried turnip cakes. They were so tasty, we just chowed down and didn't take a picture! We followed with a half-portion of very beetroot salad (trying not to overeat, but it was so tasty, I wished we'd had more.) Our entrees were eggplant in a tasty sauce (only slightly spicy) and yellow porcini mushroom fried rice with pine nuts. Both were delicious and quite large portions. The price was not too expensive (about $150HKd per person), so not much of a splurge at all if you're in the mood to treat yourself to a fancy garden lunch.

Wow, just wow. I am stuffed and satisfied on vegetarian food. Elevated flavors, unique ingredients and interesting combinations. Mushrooms that taste like meat, fresh vegetables and delicious sauces. One of the best I've had.

Restaurant in a beautiful garden under a waterfall. Very good vegetable dumpling and deep fried pumpkin.

“I was pleasantly surprised - I am usually wary of sweet and sour dishes, as they often come up goopy, cloyingly sweet, or imbalanced in some other way.”

Many people in Hong Kong say "It's so hard to find vegetarian options in Hong Kong!" Lo and behold…read morethis wonderful nook hiding in Thai-town, Kowloon City. Perfect for the vegetarians in Hong Kong. The menu is jacked with hearty curries and tasty stir-fries. I would totally make this my regular if I didn't live so far away and poor. To be honest, the price is pretty decent. The shop is run by Thai people so you're in good hands. It's the perfect place to unwind from a busy city in Hong Kong, as they don't rush you out the door when you finish. One thing to note though is that some dishes originally have meat in them, but they use a soy substitute. Tom Gai Gai, for example, is just lacking that flavor so I'd avoid ordering a chicken dish (no chicken) and expect it to taste like chicken. If that makes any sense.

The food here is delicious - don't miss the fresh spring rolls or the pomelo salad. What's great…read moreabout the curries and other mains is the huge number of vegetables. Chinese vegetarian restaurants often focus on one type of meat substitute, but the dishes here have a wide mix of veg alongside the vegetarian duck, scallops or whatever. The only thing I dislike are the drinks, as the water here has a slightly strange aftertaste. Note that this is a small, hole-in-the-wall type place; it would be pushed to fit twenty, and the tables spill out onto the street. I usually don't wait long for a seat but at peak times there can be a queue. They do do takeaway, but might not accept orders if it's a very busy evening.

Woo! Not that bad. It's a vegetarian Chinese food restaurant that cooks everything with coconut…read moreoil, or so they claim. They have typical like laksa soup noodles, Singapore fried noodles, fried udon, curry. There's a big menu on the wall when you walk in, and it's almost always busy. You order, you sit (anywhere there's a seat), and eat. I actually recommend coming in two's so one will grab a table, the other orders the food. If you visit by yourself (which is even better), you'll get a seat pretty fast because people eat and leave fast. There are cleaning ladies who will locate a newly empty seat for you. The food is really good!! I love their Singapore fried noodles, it's still really oily but it's much lighter in comparison to typical Chinese food. The laksa is very light in laksa flavour but very heavy in in coconut. It's not the typical prawn laksa that you'd know. To me, there's a small hint of laksa flavour plus coconut curry. It's mildly spicy. Their yellow curry is really good too! Their soy milk has no sugar so it's just pure soy milk in all its rawness. Have you had that before? Once you drink this, you'll realize that the soy milk you knew is packed full of sugar. Next to the Loving Hut is their natural/vegetarian shop that sells brands like Seventh Generation, and others I've never seen. They have baked goods and no-chemical soups and shampoos. And jelly.
