Working in Mong Kok gives you an opportunity to try out a bunch of low cost options for meals. This time around, I tried out Little Fusion, one of those Chinese-styled "western" restaurants that serve baked rice, pastas, and most surprisingly of all, baked potatoes (they even post it on their sign outside)
While I was here, I ordered their deep fried pork cutlet and baked potato set. The cutlet was served in a curry sauce, the baked potato, topped with egg salad. Also on the plate we're a few slices of cucumber and carrots that were seem to have been blanched before they were served (they were still crunchy). The cutlet was also crunchy, and the curry quite flavourful, but the baked potato wasn't anything special. The egg salad didn't complement it well, as what we wound up with was a very bland combo of egg salad and potato, and I actually like egg salad.
The meal also comes with a soup and garlic toast. My friends cautioned me against the cream based soup as they told me it's usually quite bland, so I went with their borscht (done the Chinese way, i.e. With copious amounts of cabbage, tomatoes and potentially no beets at all)- come to think of it, it seemed more like a minestrone without the beans. Overall it's not bad, slightly sour, but very flavourful, and it even comes with copious amounts of vegetables, though it may be a bit too spicy for some.
The sets are quite cheap, and come with a soup and a hot beverage. While I wouldn't come back for the quality of the food served, I the value that they offer in their meals would draw me back. read more
